1 Peter 1
1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the choice sojourners of the dispersion of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
Phexros ergamaa Yesuus Kiristoos irraa, Gara filatamtoota Phonxoos, Galaatiyaa, Qaphadooqiyaa, Asiyaa fi Biitaaniyaa keessa bibittinnaaʼan
2 according to a foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, to obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied!
kanneen akka beekumsa Waaqa Abbaatti, karaa hojii qulqulleessuu Hafuuraatiin, akka Yesuus Kiristoosiif ajajamanii fi akka dhiigni isaa isaanitti facaafamuuf filatamaniitti: Ayyaannii fi nagaan isiniif haa baayʼatu.
3 Blessed [is] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to the abundance of His kindness did beget us again to a living hope, through the rising again of Jesus Christ out of the dead,
Waaqaa fi Abbaan Gooftaa keenya Yesuus Kiristoos haa eebbifamu! Inni araara isaa guddaa sanaan, warra duʼan keessaa kaʼuu Yesuus Kiristoosiin abdii jiraataadhaaf lammata nu dhalche;
4 to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and unfading, reserved in the heavens for you,
akkasumas dhaala hin badne, kan hin xuroofne yookaan hin geeddaramnetti nu galche; dhaalli kunis samii keessa isinii kaaʼameera;
5 who, in the power of God are being guarded, through faith, unto salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time,
isin warra karaa amantiitiin hamma fayyina bara dhumaatti mulʼachuudhaaf qophaaʼe sanaatti humna Waaqaatiin eegamtanii dha.
6 in which ye are glad, a little now, if it be necessary, being made to sorrow in manifold trials,
Isinis yoo amma yeroo gabaabaaf qorumsa gosa garaa garaa keessa darbuu qabaattan iyyuu waan kanaan akka malee gammaddan.
7 that the proof of your faith — much more precious than of gold that is perishing, and through fire being approved — may be found to praise, and honour, and glory, in the revelation of Jesus Christ,
Wanni kunis akka amantiin keessan kan warqee yoo ibiddaan qulqulleeffame iyyuu badu sana caalu sun dhugaa taʼuun isaa mirkaneeffamee, yeroo itti Yesuus Kiristoos mulʼatutti galata, ulfinaa fi kabaja fiduuf taʼe.
8 whom, not having seen, ye love, in whom, now not seeing and believing, ye are glad with joy unspeakable and glorified,
Isin utuu isa hin argin isa jaallattu; amma yoo isa arguu baattan iyyuu isatti amantu; gammachuu ibsamuu hin dandeenyee fi ulfina qabeessaanis guutamtaniirtu;
9 receiving the end of your faith — salvation of souls;
isin buʼaa amantii keessanii jechuunis fayyina lubbuu keessanii argachaa jirtuutii.
10 concerning which salvation seek out and search out did prophets who concerning the grace toward you did prophecy,
Raajonni waaʼee ayyaana isinii kennamuuf jiru sanaa dubbatan sun itti jabaatanii waaʼee fayyina kanaa qorachaa, iyyaafachaas turan;
11 searching in regard to what or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ that was in them was manifesting, testifying beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glory after these,
isaanis yommuu Hafuurri Kiristoos inni isaan keessa ture sun waaʼee dhiphina Kiristoosiitii fi waaʼee ulfina itti aanu sanaa duraan dursee dubbatetti yoomii fi haala akkamii keessa akka taʼu beekuuf yaalaa turan.
12 to whom it was revealed, that not to themselves, but to us they were ministering these, which now were told to you (through those who did proclaim good news to you, ) in the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, to which things messengers do desire to bend looking.
Namoonni Hafuura Qulqulluu isa samiidhaa ergameen wangeela isinitti lallaban sun waan amma isinitti himan keessatti utuu ofii isaanii hin taʼin isin akka tajaajilan ifa ni taʼeef; waan kana ergamoonni iyyuu gad fageenyaan arguu hawwu.
13 Wherefore having girded up the loins of your mind, being sober, hope perfectly upon the grace that is being brought to you in the revelation of Jesus Christ,
Kanaafuu mudhii qalbii keessanii hidhadhaa; warra of qaban taʼaa; abdii keessanis guutumaan guutuutti ayyaana yeroo Yesuus Kiristoos mulʼatutti isinii kennamu sana irra kaaʼadhaa.
14 as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves to the former desires in your ignorance,
Akka ijoollee ajajamanii taʼaa malee hawwii hamaa bara wallaalummaa keessanii sana duukaa hin buʼinaa.
15 but according as He who did call you [is] holy, ye also, become holy in all behaviour,
Qooda kanaa akkuma inni isin waame sun qulqulluu taʼe, isinis waan hojjetan hundumaan qulqulloota taʼaa;
16 because it hath been written, 'Become ye holy, because I am holy;'
“Ani qulqulluudhaatii isinis qulqulloota taʼaa” jedhamee barreeffameeraatii.
17 and if on the Father ye do call, who without acceptance of persons is judging according to the work of each, in fear the time of your sojourn pass ye,
Isin erga isa utuu wal hin caalchisin nama hunda akkuma hojii isaatti itti muru sana “Abbaa” jettanii waammattanii bara keessummummaa keessan isa sodaachaa jiraadhaa.
18 having known that, not with corruptible things — silver or gold — were ye redeemed from your foolish behaviour delivered by fathers,
Isin akka jireenya faayidaa hin qabne kan abbootii keessan irraa dhaaltan irraa waan baduu dandaʼu kan akka meetiitii fi warqeetiin hin furamin beektuutii.
19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and unspotted — Christ's —
Garuu dhiiga gatii guddaa qabu, dhiiga Kiristoos jechuunis hoolaa mudaa yookaan hanqina hin qabne sanaatiin furamtaniirtu.
20 foreknown, indeed, before the foundation of the world, and manifested in the last times because of you,
Inni utuu addunyaan hin uumamin duraan dursee beekame; garuu isiniif jedhee bara dhumaa kana keessa mulʼate.
21 who through him do believe in God, who did raise out of the dead, and glory to him did give, so that your faith and hope may be in God.
Isinis karaa isaatiin Waaqa warra duʼan keessaa isa kaasee ulfina isaaf kenne sanatti amantu; kunis akka amantii fi abdiin keessan Waaqayyo taʼuuf.
22 Your souls having purified in the obedience of the truth through the Spirit to brotherly love unfeigned, out of a pure heart one another love ye earnestly,
Egaa isin waan akka obboloota keessaniif jaalala dhugaa qabaattaniif jettanii dhugaadhaaf ajajamuun of qulqulleessitaniif, cimsaatii garaa qulqulluudhaan wal jaalladhaa.
23 being begotten again, not out of seed corruptible, but incorruptible, through a word of God — living and remaining — to the age; (aiōn g165)
Isin karaa dubbii Waaqaa isa jiraatuu fi cimee dhaabatu sanaatiin sanyii hin badne irraa lammata dhalattan malee sanyii badu irraa miti. (aiōn g165)
24 because all flesh [is] as grass, and all glory of man as flower of grass; wither did the grass, and the flower of it fell away,
“Foon hundi akkuma margaa ti; ulfinni isaa hundis akkuma daraaraa margaa ti; margi ni coollaga; daraaraanis ni harcaʼa;
