1 Kings 9
1 And it cometh to pass, at Solomon's finishing to build the house of Jehovah, and the house of the king, and all the desire of Solomon that he delighted to do,
Als nun Salomo den Bau des Tempels des HERRN und des königlichen Palastes vollendet hatte und mit allem, was er sonst noch auszuführen gewünscht hatte, fertig war,
2 that Jehovah appeareth unto Solomon a second time, as He appeared unto him in Gibeon,
da erschien ihm der HERR zum zweitenmal, wie er ihm vorher in Gibeon erschienen war;
3 and Jehovah saith unto him, 'I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication with which thou hast made supplication before Me; I have hallowed this house that thou hast built to put My name there — unto the age, and Mine eyes and My heart have been there all the days.
und der HERR sagte zu ihm: »Ich habe dein Gebet und dein Flehen gehört, das du an mich gerichtet hast. Ich habe diesen Tempel, den du erbaut hast, dazu geweiht, meinen Namen für alle Zeiten daran haften zu lassen, und meine Augen und mein Herz sollen immerdar dort zugegen sein.
4 'And thou — if thou dost walk before Me as David thy father walked, in simplicity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee — My statutes and My judgments thou dost keep —
Wenn du nun vor mir ebenso wandelst, wie dein Vater David es getan hat, in Herzenseinfalt und Aufrichtigkeit, so daß du alles tust, was ich dir geboten habe, und meine Satzungen und Rechte beobachtest,
5 then I have established the throne of thy kingdom over Israel — to the age, as I spake unto David thy father, saying, There is not cut off to thee a man from [being] on the throne of Israel.
so will ich den Thron deines Königtums über Israel auf ewige Zeiten bestätigen, wie ich es deinem Vater David feierlich zugesagt habe mit den Worten: ›Es soll dir nie an einem Manne auf dem Throne Israels fehlen!‹
6 'If ye at all turn back — you and your sons — from after Me, and keep not My commands — My statutes, that I have set before you, and ye have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them,
Wenn ihr aber von mir abfallt, ihr oder eure Kinder, und meine Gebote und Satzungen, die ich euch zur Pflicht gemacht habe, nicht beobachtet, sondern anderen Göttern zu dienen und sie anzubeten anfangt,
7 then I have cut off Israel from the face of the ground that I have given to them, and the house that I have hallowed for My name I send away from My presence, and Israel hath been for a simile and for a byword among all the peoples;
so werde ich Israel aus dem Lande, das ich ihnen gegeben habe, ausrotten und den Tempel, den ich meinem Namen geheiligt habe, keines Blickes mehr würdigen, und Israel soll für alle Völker ein Gegenstand des Hohns und Spottes werden.
8 as to this house, [that] is high, every one passing by it is astonished, and hath hissed, and they have said, Wherefore hath Jehovah done thus to this land and to this house?
Und dieser Tempel soll zu einem Trümmerhaufen werden, so daß alle, die an ihm vorübergehen, sich entsetzen und zischeln; und wenn man dann fragt: ›Warum hat der HERR diesem Land und diesem Hause solches Geschick widerfahren lassen?‹,
9 and they have said, Because that they have forsaken Jehovah their God, who brought out their fathers from the land of Egypt, and they lay hold on other gods, and bow themselves to them, and serve them; therefore hath Jehovah brought in upon them all this evil.'
so wird man antworten: ›Zur Strafe dafür, daß sie den HERRN, ihren Gott, der ihre Väter aus Ägypten herausgeführt hatte, verlassen und sich anderen Göttern zugewandt und sie angebetet und ihnen gedient haben; darum hat der HERR all dieses Unglück über sie kommen lassen.‹«
10 And it cometh to pass, at the end of twenty years, that Solomon hath built the two houses, the house of Jehovah, and the house of the king.
Nach Ablauf der zwanzig Jahre nun, während deren Salomo die beiden Bauwerke, den Tempel des HERRN und den königlichen Palast, erbaut hatte –
11 Hiram king of Tyre hath assisted Solomon with cedar-trees, and with fir-trees, and with gold, according to all his desire; then doth king Solomon give to Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
Hiram, der König von Tyrus, hatte nämlich dem König Salomo Zedern- und Zypressenholz sowie Gold geliefert, soviel er gewünscht hatte –, damals schenkte der König Salomo dem Hiram zwanzig Städte in der Landschaft Galiläa.
12 And Hiram cometh out from Tyre to see the cities that Solomon hath given to him, and they have not been right in his eyes,
Als aber Hiram aus Tyrus herüberkam, um sich die Städte anzusehen, die Salomo ihm überwiesen hatte, gefielen sie ihm nicht,
13 and he saith, 'What [are] these cities that thou hast given to me, my brother?' and one calleth them the land of Cabul unto this day.
und er sagte: »Was sind das für Städte, die du mir da abgetreten hast, mein Bruder!« Daher nennt man diese Landschaft »Kabul« bis auf den heutigen Tag.
14 And Hiram sendeth to the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold.
Hiram hatte nämlich dem Könige hundertundzwanzig Talente Gold gesandt.
15 And this [is] the matter of the tribute that king Solomon hath lifted up, to build the house of Jehovah, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer,
Folgendermaßen aber verhielt es sich mit den Fronarbeitern, die der König Salomo ausgehoben hatte, um den Tempel des HERRN und seinen eigenen Palast sowie die Burg Millo und die Mauer Jerusalems zu bauen und um Hazor, Megiddo und Geser zu befestigen:
16 (Pharaoh king of Egypt hath gone up and doth capture Gezer, and doth burn it with fire, and the Canaanite who is dwelling in the city he hath slain, and giveth it [with] presents to his daughter, wife of Solomon.)
Der Pharao nämlich, der König von Ägypten, war heraufgezogen, hatte Geser erobert und eingeäschert und die Kanaanäer, die in der Stadt wohnten, niedergemacht und dann (den Ort) seiner Tochter, der Gemahlin Salomos, als Mitgift geschenkt;
17 And Solomon buildeth Gezer, and Beth-Horon the lower,
hierauf hatte Salomo Geser wieder aufgebaut, ebenso (baute er) auch das untere Beth-Horon,
18 and Baalath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land;
Baalath, Thamar in der Steppe im Lande Juda,
19 and all the cities of stores that king Solomon hath, and the cities of the chariots, and the cities of the horsemen, and the desire of Solomon that he desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
dazu alle Vorratsstädte, die Salomo besaß, und die Ortschaften für die Kriegswagen und die Reitpferde und überhaupt alle Bauten, die Salomo in Jerusalem, auf dem Libanon und im ganzen Bereich seines Königreiches auszuführen wünschte.
20 The whole of the people that is left of the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, who [are] not of the sons of Israel —
Alles, was noch an Nachkommen von den Amoritern, Hethitern, Pherissitern, Hewitern und Jebusitern vorhanden war, die nicht zu den Israeliten gehörten –
21 their sons who are left behind them in the land, whom the sons of Israel have not been able to devote — he hath even lifted up [on] them a tribute of service unto this day.
deren Nachkommen, soweit sie im Lande noch übriggeblieben waren, weil die Israeliten den Blutbann an ihnen nicht hatten vollstrecken können, die hob Salomo zum Frondienst aus, und sie sind Fronarbeiter geblieben bis auf den heutigen Tag.
22 And out of the sons of Israel Solomon hath not appointed a servant, for they [are] the men of war, and his servants, and his heads, and his captains, and the heads of his chariots, and his horsemen.
Von den Israeliten dagegen machte Salomo keinen zum Leibeigenen, sondern diese dienten ihm als Krieger und Hofbeamte, als hohe und niedere Offiziere und als Befehlshaber über seine Kriegswagen und seine Reiterei.
23 These [are] the heads of the officers who [are] over the work of Solomon, fifty and five hundred, those ruling among the people who are labouring in the work.
Die Zahl der Oberaufseher, die bei den Arbeiten Salomos beschäftigt waren, belief sich auf 550; sie hatten die bei den Arbeiten beschäftigten Leute zu beaufsichtigen.
24 Only, the daughter of Pharaoh went up out of the city of David unto her house that [Solomon] built for her; then he built Millo.
Sobald die Tochter des Pharaos aus der Davidstadt in ihren eigenen Palast eingezogen war, den Salomo für sie hatte bauen lassen, machte er sich an den Bau der Burg Millo. –
25 And Solomon caused to ascend, three times in a year, burnt-offerings and peace-offerings on the altar that he built to Jehovah, and he perfumed it with that which [is] before Jehovah, and finished the house.
Dreimal jährlich pflegte Salomo Brand- und Heilsopfer auf dem Altar darzubringen, den er dem HERRN erbaut hatte, und ebenso auf dem (Altar) zu räuchern, der vor dem HERRN stand. Als er den Häuserbau vollendet hatte,
26 And a navy hath king Solomon made in Ezion-Geber, that is beside Eloth, on the edge of the Sea of Suph, in the land of Edom.
schuf König Salomo auch eine Flotte in Ezjon-Geber, das bei Elath am Ufer des Schilfmeeres im Lande der Edomiter liegt.
27 And Hiram sendeth in the navy his servants, shipmen knowing the sea, with servants of Solomon,
Hiram sandte dann auf dieser Flotte als Bemannung seine Leute – Seeleute, die mit dem Meer vertraut waren – zusammen mit den Leuten Salomos aus.
28 and they come in to Ophir and take thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and bring [it] in unto king Solomon.
Sie fuhren bis nach Ophir und holten von dort Gold, 420 Talente, und brachten es dem König Salomo.
