< 1 Kings 8 >

1 Then doth Solomon assemble the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, princes of the fathers of the sons of Israel, unto king Solomon, to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah from the city of David — it [is] Zion;
Then he called together Solomon [the] elders of Israel all [the] chiefs of the tribes [the] leaders of the fathers of [the] people of Israel to the king Solomon Jerusalem to bring up [the] ark of [the] covenant of Yahweh from [the] city of David that [is] Zion.
2 and all the men of Israel are assembled unto king Solomon, in the month of Ethanim, in the festival — [is] the seventh month.
And they assembled to the king Solomon every person of Israel in [the] month of Ethanim at the festival that [was] the month seventh.
3 And all the elders of Israel come in, and the priests lift up the ark,
And they came all [the] elders of Israel and they lifted the priests the ark.
4 and bring up the ark of Jehovah, and the tent of meeting, and all the holy vessels that [are] in the tent, yea, the priests and the Levites bring them up.
And they brought up [the] ark of Yahweh and [the] tent of meeting and all [the] utensils of holiness which [were] in the tent and they brought up them the priests and the Levites.
5 And king Solomon and all the company of Israel who are met unto him [are] with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that are not counted nor numbered for multitude.
And the king Solomon and all [the] congregation of Israel who were gathered to him with him before the ark [were] sacrificing sheep and cattle which not they were counted and not they were numbered from multitude.
6 And the priests bring in the ark of the covenant of Jehovah unto its place, unto the oracle of the house, unto the holy of holies, unto the place of the wings of the cherubs;
And they brought the priests [the] ark of [the] covenant of Yahweh to place its to [the] innermost room of the house to [the] holy place of the holy places to under [the] wings of the cherubim.
7 for the cherubs are spreading forth two wings unto the place of the ark, and the cherubs cover over the ark, and over its staves from above;
For the cherubim [were] spreading out wings to [the] place of the ark and they covered the cherubim over the ark and over poles its from to above.
8 and they lengthen the staves, and the heads of the staves are seen from the holy [place] on the front of the oracle, and are not seen without, and they are there unto this day.
And they were long the poles and they were visible [the] heads of the poles from the holy place on [the] face of the innermost room and not they were visible the outside towards and they have been there until the day this.
9 There is nothing in the ark, only the two tables of stone which Moses put there in Horeb, when Jehovah covenanted with the sons of Israel in their going out of the land of Egypt.
There not [was] in the ark only [the] two [the] tablets of stone which he placed there Moses at Horeb where he made Yahweh with [the] people of Israel when came out they from [the] land of Egypt.
10 And it cometh to pass, in the going out of the priests from the holy [place], that the cloud hath filled the house of Jehovah,
And it was when came out the priests from the holy place and the cloud it filled [the] house of Yahweh.
11 and the priests have not been able to stand to minister because of the cloud, for the honour of Jehovah hath filled the house of Jehovah.
And not they were able the priests to stand to serve because of the cloud for it filled [the] glory of Yahweh [the] house of Yahweh.
12 Then said Solomon, 'Jehovah hath said to dwell in thick darkness;
Then he said Solomon Yahweh he has said to dwell in thick darkness.
13 I have surely built a house of habitation for Thee; a fixed place for Thine abiding to the ages.'
Certainly I have built a house of loftiness for you a place to dwell in you forever.
14 And the king turneth round his face, and blesseth the whole assembly of Israel; and all the assembly of Israel is standing.
And he turned the king face his and he blessed all [the] assembly of Israel and all [the] assembly of Israel [was] standing.
15 And he saith, 'Blessed [is] Jehovah, God of Israel, who spake by His mouth with David my father, and by His hand hath fulfilled [it], saying,
And he said [be] blessed Yahweh [the] God of Israel who he spoke with mouth his with David father my and with hand his he has fulfilled saying.
16 From the day that I brought out My people, even Israel, from Egypt, I have not fixed on a city out of all the tribes of Israel, to build a house for My name being there; and I fix on David to be over My people Israel.
Since the day when I brought out people my Israel from Egypt not I chose a city from all [the] tribes of Israel to build a house to be name my there and I have chosen David to be over people my Israel.
17 'And it is with the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Jehovah, God of Israel,
And it was with [the] heart of David father my to build a house for [the] name of Yahweh [the] God of Israel.
18 and Jehovah saith unto David my father, Because that it hath been with thy heart to build a house for My name, thou hast done well that it hath been with thy heart;
And he said Yahweh to David father my because that it was with heart your to build a house for name my you did well that it was with heart your.
19 only, thou dost not build the house, but thy son who is coming out from thy loins, he doth build the house for My name.
Only you not you will build the house that except son your who comes out from loins your he he will build the house for name my.
20 'And Jehovah doth establish His word which He spake, and I am risen up instead of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Jehovah spake, and build the house for the name of Jehovah, God of Israel,
And he has established Yahweh word his which he spoke and I have arisen in place of David father my and I have sat on [the] throne of Israel just as he spoke Yahweh and I have built the house for [the] name of Yahweh [the] God of Israel.
21 and set there a place for the ark, where [is] the covenant of Jehovah which He made with our fathers in His bringing them out from the land of Egypt.'
And I have set up there a place for the ark where [is] there [the] covenant of Yahweh which he made with ancestors our when brought out he them from [the] land of Egypt.
22 And Solomon standeth before the altar of Jehovah, over-against all the assembly of Israel, and spreadeth his hands towards the heavens,
And he stood Solomon before [the] altar of Yahweh before all [the] assembly of Israel and he spread out palms his the heavens.
23 and saith, 'Jehovah, God of Israel, there is not a God like Thee, in the heavens above, and on the earth beneath, keeping the covenant and the kindness for Thy servants, those walking before Thee with all their heart,
And he said O Yahweh [the] God of Israel there not like you [is] a God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath [who] keeps the covenant and covenant loyalty to servants your who walk before you with all heart their.
24 who hast kept for Thy servant David my father that which Thou spakest to him; yea, Thou speakest with Thy mouth, and with Thy hand hast fulfilled [it], as [at] this day.
Who you have kept to servant your David father my [that] which you spoke to him and you spoke with mouth your and with hand your you have fulfilled as the day this.
25 'And now, Jehovah, God of Israel, keep for Thy servant David my father that which Thou spakest to him, saying, There is not cut off to thee a man from before Me, sitting on the throne of Israel — only, if thy sons watch their way, to walk before Me as thou hast walked before Me.
And therefore O Yahweh - [the] God of Israel keep to servant your David father my [that] which you spoke to him saying not it will be cut off to you a man from to before me [who] sits on [the] throne of Israel only if they will guard descendants your way their to walk before me just as you have walked before me.
26 'And now, O God of Israel, let it be established, I pray Thee, Thy word which Thou hast spoken to Thy servant, David my father.
And therefore O God of Israel let it be established please (word your *Q(K)*) which you spoke to servant your David father my.
27 But, is it true? — God dwelleth on the earth! lo, the heavens, and the heavens of the heavens do not contain Thee, how much less this house which I have builded!
For ¿ really will he dwell God on the earth here! the heavens and [the] heavens of the heavens not they contain you indeed? for the house this which I have built.
28 'Then thou hast turned unto the prayer of Thy servant, and unto his supplication, O Jehovah my God, to hearken unto the cry and unto the prayer which Thy servant is praying before Thee to-day,
And you will turn to [the] prayer of servant your and to supplication his O Yahweh God my to listen to the cry of entreaty and to the prayer which servant your [is] praying before you this day.
29 for Thine eyes being open towards this house night and day, towards the place of which Thou hast said, My Name is there; to hearken unto the prayer which Thy servant prayeth towards this place.
To be eyes your open to the house this night and day to the place where you have said it will be name my there to listen to the prayer which he will pray servant your to the place this.
30 'Then Thou hast hearkened unto the supplication of Thy servant, and of Thy people Israel, which they pray towards this place; yea, Thou dost hearken in the place of Thy dwelling, in the heavens — and Thou hast hearkened, and hast forgiven,
And you will listen to [the] supplication of servant your and people your Israel which they will pray to the place this and you you will listen to [the] place dwelling you to the heavens and you will hear and you will forgive.
31 that which a man sinneth against his neighbour, and he hath lifted up upon him an oath to cause him to swear, and the oath hath come in before Thine altar in this house,
[that] which He will sin anyone to neighbor his and he will impose on him an oath to put under an oath him and he will come he will swear an oath before altar your in the house this.
32 then Thou dost hear in the heavens, and hast done, and hast judged Thy servants, to declare wicked the wicked, to put his way on his head, and to declare righteous the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.
And you - you will hear the heavens and you will act and you will judge servants your to condemn as guilty a guilty [person] to requite conduct his on own head his and to declare righteous a righteous [person] to give to him according to righteousness his.
33 'In Thy people Israel being smitten before an enemy, because they sin against Thee, and they have turned back unto Thee, and have confessed Thy name, and prayed, and made supplication unto Thee in this house,
When are defeated people your Israel before an enemy that they will sin to you and they will turn back to you and they will praise name your and they will pray and they will seek favor to you in the house this.
34 then thou dost hear in the heavens, and hast forgiven the sin of Thy people Israel, and brought them back unto the ground that Thou gavest to their fathers.
And you you will hear the heavens and you will forgive [the] sin of people your Israel and you will bring back them to the land which you gave to ancestors their.
35 'In the heavens being restrained, and there is no rain, because they sin against Thee, and they have prayed towards this place, and confessed Thy name, and from their sin turn back, for Thou dost afflict them,
When are shut up [the] heavens and not it will be rain for they will sin to you and they will pray to the place this and they will praise name your and from sin their they will turn back! for you will afflict them.
36 then Thou dost hear in the heavens, and hast forgiven the sin of Thy servants, and of Thy people Israel, for Thou directest them the good way in which they go, and hast given rain on Thy land which Thou hast given to Thy people for inheritance.
And you - you will hear the heavens and you will forgive [the] sin of servants your and people your Israel that you will teach them the way good which they will walk in it and you will give rain on land your which you gave to people your to an inheritance.
37 'Famine — when it is in the land; pestilence — when it is; blasting, mildew, locust; caterpillar — when it is; when its enemy hath distressed it in the land [in] its gates, any plague, any sickness, —
Famine if it will be in the land pestilence for it will be blight mildew locust[s] locust[s] for it will be that he will lay siege to it enemy its in [the] land of gates its every plague any sickness.
38 any prayer, any supplication that [is] of any man of all Thy people Israel, who know each the plague of his own heart, and hath spread his hands towards this house,
Every prayer every supplication which it will belong to any person to all people your Israel who they will know! each [the] plague of own heart his and he will spread out palms his to the house this.
39 then Thou dost hear in the heavens, the settled place of Thy dwelling, and hast forgiven, and hast done, and hast given to each according to all his ways, whose heart Thou knowest, (for Thou hast known — Thyself alone — the heart of all the sons of man),
And you you will hear the heavens [the] place of dwelling your and you will forgive and you will act and you will give to the person according to all ways his whom you will know heart his for you you know to alone you [the] heart of all [the] children of humankind.
40 so that they fear Thee all the days that they are living on the face of the ground that Thou hast given to our fathers.
So that they may fear you all the days which they [will be] alive on [the] surface of the ground which you gave to ancestors our.
41 'And also, unto the stranger who is not of Thy people Israel, and hath come from a land afar off for Thy name's sake —
And also to the foreigner who not [is] one of people your Israel he and he will come from a land distant for [the] sake of name your.
42 (for they hear of Thy great name, and of Thy strong hand, and of Thy stretched-out arm) — and he hath come in and prayed towards this house,
For they will hear! name your great and hand your mighty and arm your outstretched and he will come and he will pray to the house this.
43 Thou dost hear in the heavens, the settled place of Thy dwelling, and hast done according to all that the stranger calleth unto Thee for, in order that all the peoples of the earth may know Thy name, to fear Thee like Thy people Israel, and to know that Thy name hath been called on this house which I have builded.
You you will hear the heavens [the] place dwelling you and you will do according to all that he will call to you the foreigner so that they may know! all [the] peoples of the earth name your to fear you like people your Israel and to know that name your it has been called on the house this which I have built.
44 'When Thy people doth go out to battle against its enemy, in the way that Thou dost send them, and they have prayed unto Jehovah the way of the city which thou hast fixed on, and of the house which I have builded for Thy name;
If it will go forth people your for battle on enemy its by the way which you will send them and they will pray to Yahweh [the] direction of the city which you have chosen it and the house which I have built for name your.
45 then Thou hast heard in the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and hast maintained their cause.
And you will hear the heavens prayer their and supplication their and you will do justice their.
46 'When they sin against Thee (for there is not a man who sinneth not), and Thou hast been angry with them, and hast given them up before an enemy, and they have taken captive their captivity unto the land of the enemy far off or near;
If they will sin to you for there not [is] anyone who not he sins and you will be angry with them and will you deliver up them before an enemy and they will take captive them captors their to [the] land of the enemy distant or near.
47 and they have turned [it] back unto their heart in the land whither they have been taken captive, and have turned back, and made supplication unto Thee, in the land of their captors, saying, We have sinned and done perversely — we have done wickedly;
And they will bring back to heart their in the land where they have been taken captive there and they will repent - and they will seek favor to you in [the] land of captors their saying we have sinned and we have done wrong we have acted wickedly.
48 yea, they have turned back unto Thee, with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies who have taken them captive, and have prayed unto Thee the way of their land, which Thou gavest to their fathers, the city which Thou hast chosen, and the house which I have builded for Thy name:
And they will return to you with all heart their and with all being their in [the] land of enemies their who they have taken captive them and they will pray to you [the] direction of land their which you gave to ancestors their the city which you have chosen and the house which (I have built *Q(K)*) for name your.
49 'Then Thou hast heard in the heavens, the settled place of Thy dwelling, their prayer and their supplication, and hast maintained their cause,
And you will hear the heavens [the] place dwelling you prayer their and supplication their and you will do justice their.
50 and hast forgiven Thy people who have sinned against Thee, even all their transgressions which they have transgressed against Thee, and hast given them mercies before their captors, and they have had mercy [on] them —
And you will forgive people your who they have sinned to you and all transgressions their which they transgressed against you and you will make them into [objects of] compassion before captors their and they will have compassion on them.
51 (for Thy people and Thy inheritance [are] they, whom Thou didst bring out of Egypt, out of the midst of the furnace of iron) —
For [are] people your and inheritance your they whom you brought out from Egypt from [the] midst of [the] furnace of iron.
52 for Thine eyes being open unto the supplication of Thy servant, and unto the supplication of Thy people Israel, to hearken unto them in all they call unto Thee for;
To be eyes your open to [the] supplication of servant your and to [the] supplication of people your Israel to listen to them in all calling they to you.
53 for Thou hast separated them to Thyself for an inheritance, out of all the peoples of the earth, as Thou didst speak by the hand of Moses Thy servant, in Thy bringing out our fathers from Egypt, O Lord Jehovah.'
For you you have separated them for yourself to an inheritance from all [the] peoples of the earth just as you spoke by [the] hand of - Moses servant your when bringing out you ancestors our from Egypt O Lord Yahweh.
54 And it cometh to pass, at Solomon's finishing to pray unto Jehovah all this prayer and supplication, he hath risen from before the altar of Jehovah, from bending on his knees, and his hands spread out to the heavens,
And it was - when had finished Solomon to pray to Yahweh all the prayer and the supplication this he stood up from to before [the] altar of Yahweh from bowing down on knees his and palms his [were] spread out the heavens.
55 and he standeth and blesseth all the assembly of Israel [with] a loud voice, saying,
And he stood and he blessed all [the] assembly of Israel a voice great saying.
56 'Blessed [is] Jehovah who hath given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He hath spoken; there hath not fallen one word of all His good word, which He spake by the hand of Moses his servant.
[be] blessed Yahweh who he has given a resting place to people his Israel according to all that he has spoken not it has fallen a word one from every word his good which he spoke by [the] hand of Moses servant his.
57 'Jehovah our God is with us as He hath been with our fathers; He doth not forsake us nor leave us;
May he be Yahweh God our with us just as he was with ancestors our may not he forsake us and may not he abandon us.
58 to incline our heart unto Himself, to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commands, and His statutes, and His judgments, which He commanded our fathers;
To incline heart our to him to walk in all ways his and to keep commandments his and statutes his and judgments his which he commanded ancestors our.
59 and these my words with which I have made supplication before Jehovah, are near unto Jehovah our God by day and by night, to maintain the cause of His servant, and the cause of His people Israel, the matter of a day in its day;
And may they be words my these which I have sought favor before Yahweh near to Yahweh God our by day and night to do - [the] justice of servant his and [the] justice of people his Israel a matter of a day in day its.
60 for all the peoples of the earth knowing that Jehovah, He [is] God; there is none else;
So as to know all [the] peoples of the earth that Yahweh he [is] God there not [is] still more.
61 and your heart hath been perfect with Jehovah our God, to walk in His statutes, and to keep His commands, as [at] this day.'
And it will be heart your complete with Yahweh God our to walk in statutes his and to keep commandments his as the day this.
62 And the king and all Israel with him are sacrificing a sacrifice before Jehovah;
And the king and all Israel with him [were] sacrificing a sacrifice before Yahweh.
63 and Solomon sacrificeth the sacrifice of peace-offerings, which he hath sacrificed to Jehovah, oxen, twenty and two thousand, and sheep, a hundred and twenty thousand; and the king and all the sons of Israel dedicate the house of Jehovah.
And he sacrificed Solomon [the] sacrifice of the peace offerings which he sacrificed to Yahweh cattle twenty and two thousand and sheep one hundred and twenty thousand and they dedicated [the] house of Yahweh the king and all [the] people of Israel.
64 On that day hath the king sanctified the middle of the court that [is] before the house of Jehovah, for he hath made there the burnt-offering, and the present, and the fat of the peace-offerings; for the altar of brass that [is] before Jehovah [is] too little to contain the burnt-offering, and the present, and the fat of the peace-offerings.
On the day that he consecrated the king [the] middle of the court which [was] before [the] house of Yahweh for he offered there the burnt offering and the grain offering and [the] fat of the peace offerings for [the] altar of bronze which [was] before Yahweh [was too] small for containing the burnt offering and the grain offering and [the] fat of the peace offerings.
65 And Solomon maketh, at that time, the festival — and all Israel with him, a great assembly from the entering in of Hamath unto the brook of Egypt — before Jehovah our God, seven days and seven days; fourteen days.
And he observed Solomon at the time that - the festival and all Israel with him an assembly great from Lebo Hamath - to [the] wadi of Egypt before Yahweh God our seven days and seven days four-teen day[s].
66 On the eighth day he hath sent the people away, and they bless the king, and go to their tents, rejoicing and glad of heart for all the good that Jehovah hath done to David His servant, and to Israel His people.
On the day eighth he sent away the people and they blessed the king and they went to tents their joyful and good of heart on all the good which he had done Yahweh to David servant his and to Israel people his.
