1 Kings 5
1 And Hiram king of Tyre sendeth his servants unto Solomon, for he heard that they had anointed him for king instead of his father, for Hiram was a lover of David all the days;
Şi Hiram, împăratul Tirului, i-a trimis pe servitorii săi la Solomon, pentru că auzise că îl unseseră împărat în locul tatălui său; căci Hiram îl iubise întotdeauna pe David.
2 and Solomon sendeth unto Hiram, saying,
Şi Solomon a trimis la Hiram, spunând:
3 'Thou hast known David my father, that he hath not been able to build a house to the name of Jehovah his God, because of the wars that have been round about him, till Jehovah's putting them under the soles of his feet.
Cunoşti că David, tatăl meu, nu a putut să construiască o casă pentru numele DOMNULUI Dumnezeul său din cauza războaielor care erau în jurul său de fiecare parte, până când DOMNUL i-a pus sub talpa picioarelor sale.
4 'And now, Jehovah my God hath given rest to me round about, there is no adversary nor evil occurrence,
Dar acum DOMNUL Dumnezeul meu mi-a dat odihnă de fiecare parte, astfel încât nu este niciun potrivnic, niciun eveniment rău.
5 and lo, I am saying to build a house to the name of Jehovah my God, as Jehovah spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son whom I appoint in thy stead on thy throne, he doth build the house for My name.
Şi, iată, sunt hotărât să construiesc o casă pentru numele DOMNULUI Dumnezeul meu, precum DOMNUL i-a vorbit lui David, tatăl meu, spunând: Fiul tău, pe care îl voi pune pe tronul tău în locul tău, el va clădi o casă pentru numele meu.
6 'And now, command, and they cut down for me cedars out of Lebanon, and my servants are with thy servants, and the hire of thy servants I give to thee according to all that thou sayest, for thou hast known that there is not among us a man acquainted with cutting wood, like the Sidonians.'
De aceea acum porunceşte ca ei să taie pentru mine cedri din Liban; şi servitorii mei să fie împreună cu servitorii tăi; şi ţie îţi voi da plată pentru servitorii tăi, conform cu tot ceea ce vei rândui, pentru că tu ştii că între noi nu este vreunul care să se priceapă să taie lemnărie ca sidonienii.
7 And it cometh to pass at Hiram's hearing the words of Solomon, that he rejoiceth exceedingly, and saith, 'Blessed [is] Jehovah to-day, who hath given to David a wise son over this numerous people.'
Şi s-a întâmplat, după ce Hiram a auzit cuvintele lui Solomon, că s-a bucurat mult şi a spus: Binecuvântat fie DOMNUL în această zi, care i-a dat lui David un fiu înţelept peste acest popor mare.
8 And Hiram sendeth unto Solomon, saying, I have heard that which thou hast sent unto me, I do all thy desire concerning cedar-wood, and fir-wood,
Şi Hiram a trimis la Solomon, spunând: Am luat în considerare lucrurile pentru care ai trimis la mine; şi îţi voi împlini toată dorinţa ta referitor la lemnăria de cedru şi referitor la lemnăria de brad.
9 my servants bring down from Lebanon to the sea, and I make them floats in the sea unto the place that thou sendest unto me, and I have spread them out there; and thou dost take [them] up, and thou dost execute my desire, to give the food of my house.'
Servitorii mei le vor coborî din Liban la mare; şi le voi trimite pe mare în plute până la locul pe care mi-l vei rândui şi voi face să fie desfăcute acolo şi le vei primi; şi tu să îmi împlineşti dorinţa mea, dând mâncare casei mele.
10 And Hiram is giving to Solomon cedar-trees, and fir-trees, all his desire,
Astfel Hiram i-a dat lui Solomon lemne de cedru şi lemne de brad conform cu toată dorinţa lui.
11 and Solomon hath given to Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat, food for his house, and twenty cors of beaten oil; thus doth Solomon give to Hiram year by year.
Şi Solomon i-a dat lui Hiram douăzeci de mii de măsuri de grâu ca mâncare casei lui şi douăzeci de măsuri de untdelemn pur: astfel i-a dat Solomon lui Hiram an de an.
12 And Jehovah hath given wisdom to Solomon as He spake to him, and there is peace between Hiram and Solomon, and they make a covenant both of them.
Şi DOMNUL i-a dat lui Solomon înţelepciune, precum îi promisese; şi era pace între Hiram şi Solomon: şi cei doi au făcut alianţă împreună.
13 And king Solomon lifteth up a tribute out of all Israel, and the tribute is thirty thousand men,
Şi împăratul Solomon a ridicat un tribut de oameni din tot Israelul; şi tributul de oameni a fost treizeci de mii de bărbaţi.
14 and he sendeth them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month, by changes, a month they are in Lebanon, two months in their own house; and Adoniram [is] over the tribute.
Şi i-a trimis în Liban pe rând, câte zece mii pe lună pe rânduri; o lună erau în Liban şi două luni acasă; şi Adoniram era peste tributul de oameni.
15 And king Solomon hath seventy thousand bearing burdens, and eighty thousand hewing in the mountain,
Şi Solomon avea şaptezeci de mii de purtători de poveri şi optzeci de mii de cioplitori, în munţi;
16 apart from the heads of the officers of Solomon, who [are] over the work, three thousand and three hundred, those ruling over the people who are working in the business.
În afară de mai marii ofiţeri ai lui Solomon care erau peste lucrare, el avea trei mii trei sute, care conduceau poporul care lucra în lucrare.
17 And the king commandeth, and they bring great stones, precious stone, to lay the foundation of the house, hewn stones;
Şi împăratul a poruncit şi ei au adus pietre mari, pietre de preţ şi pietre cioplite, pentru a pune temelia casei.
18 and the builders of Solomon, and the builders of Hiram, and the Giblites hew, and prepare the wood and the stones to build the house.
Şi constructorii lui Solomon şi constructorii lui Hiram şi pietrarii le-au cioplit; astfel ei au pregătit lemnele şi pietrele pentru a construi casa.
