1 Corinthians 1
1 Paul, a called apostle of Jesus Christ, through the will of God, and Sosthenes the brother,
Paulo (chamado apóstolo de Jesus Cristo, pela vontade de Deus), e o irmão Sostenes,
2 to the assembly of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, with all those calling upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place — both theirs and ours:
Á igreja de Deus que está em Corinto, aos santificados em Cristo Jesus, chamados santos, com todos os que em todo o lugar invocam o nome de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, Senhor deles e nosso:
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
Graça e paz de Deus nosso Pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.
4 I give thanks to my God always concerning you for the grace of God that was given to you in Christ Jesus,
Sempre dou graças ao meu Deus por vós pela graça de Deus que vos foi dada em Jesus Cristo.
5 that in every thing ye were enriched in him, in all discourse and all knowledge,
Porque em todas as coisas sois enriquecidos nele, em toda a palavra e em todo o conhecimento
6 according as the testimony of the Christ was confirmed in you,
(Como o testemunho de Cristo foi confirmado entre vós).
7 so that ye are not behind in any gift, waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,
De maneira que nenhum dom vos falte, esperando a manifestação de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo,
8 who also shall confirm you unto the end — unblamable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ;
O qual vos confirmará também até ao fim, para serdes irrepreensíveis no dia de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
9 faithful [is] God, through whom ye were called to the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Fiel é Deus, pelo qual fostes chamados para a comunhão de seu Filho Jesus Cristo nosso Senhor.
10 And I call upon you, brethren, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that the same thing ye may all say, and there may not be divisions among you, and ye may be perfected in the same mind, and in the same judgment,
Rogo-vos, porém, irmãos, pelo nome de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, que digais todos uma mesma coisa, e que não haja entre vós dissensões; antes sejais unidos em um mesmo sentido e em um mesmo parecer.
11 for it was signified to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe, that contentions are among you;
Porque de vós, irmãos meus, me foi notificado pelos da família de Chloe que há contendas entre vós.
12 and I say this, that each one of you saith, 'I, indeed, am of Paul' — 'and I of Apollos,' — 'and I of Cephas,' — 'and I of Christ.'
E digo isto, que cada um de vós diz: Eu sou de Paulo, e eu de Apolos, e eu de Cephas, e eu de Cristo.
13 Hath the Christ been divided? was Paul crucified for you? or to the name of Paul were ye baptized;
Está Cristo dividido? foi Paulo crucificado por vós? ou fostes vós batizados em nome de Paulo?
14 I give thanks to God that no one of you did I baptize, except Crispus and Gaius —
Dou graças a Deus, porque a nenhum de vós batizei, senão a Crispo e a Gaio.
15 that no one may say that to my own name I did baptize;
Para que ninguém diga que eu tenho batizado em meu nome.
16 and I did baptize also Stephanas' household — further, I have not known if I did baptize any other.
E batizei também a família de Estephanas; além destes, não sei se batizei algum outro.
17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but — to proclaim good news; not in wisdom of discourse, that the cross of the Christ may not be made of none effect;
Porque Cristo enviou-me, não para batizar, mas para evangelizar; não em sabedoria de palavras, para que a cruz de Cristo se não faça vã.
18 for the word of the cross to those indeed perishing is foolishness, and to us — those being saved — it is the power of God,
Porque a palavra da cruz é loucura para os que perecem; mas para nós, que somos salvos, é o poder de Deus.
19 for it hath been written, 'I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the intelligence of the intelligent I will bring to nought;'
Porque está escrito: Destruirei a sabedoria dos sábios, e aniquilarei a inteligência dos inteligentes.
20 where [is] the wise? where the scribe? where a disputer of this age? did not God make foolish the wisdom of this world? (aiōn g165)
Onde está o sábio? Onde está o escriba? Onde está o inquiridor deste século? Porventura não tornou Deus louca a sabedoria deste mundo? (aiōn g165)
21 for, seeing in the wisdom of God the world through the wisdom knew not God, it did please God through the foolishness of the preaching to save those believing.
Porque, como na sabedoria de Deus o mundo não conheceu a Deus pela sabedoria, aprouve a Deus salvar os crentes pela loucura da pregação.
22 Since also Jews ask a sign, and Greeks seek wisdom,
Porque os judeus pedem sinal, e os gregos buscam sabedoria;
23 also we — we preach Christ crucified, to Jews, indeed, a stumbling-block, and to Greeks foolishness,
Mas nós pregamos a Cristo crucificado, que é escândalo para os judeus, e loucura para os gregos.
24 and to those called — both Jews and Greeks — Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God,
Porém para os que são chamados, tanto judeus como gregos, lhes pregamos a Cristo, poder de Deus, e sabedoria de Deus.
25 because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men;
Porque a loucura de Deus é mais sabia do que os homens; e a fraqueza de Deus é mais forte do que os homens.
26 for see your calling, brethren, that not many [are] wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble;
Porque, vede, irmãos a vossa vocação, que não muitos sábios segundo a carne, nem muitos poderosos, nem muitos nobres são chamados.
27 but the foolish things of the world did God choose, that the wise He may put to shame; and the weak things of the world did God choose that He may put to shame the strong;
Mas Deus escolheu as coisas loucas deste mundo para confundir as sabias; e Deus escolheu as coisas fracas deste mundo para confundir as fortes;
28 and the base things of the world, and the things despised did God choose, and the things that are not, that the things that are He may make useless —
E Deus escolheu as coisas vis deste mundo, e as desprezíveis, e as que não são, para aniquilar as que são;
29 that no flesh may glory before Him;
Para que nenhuma carne se glorie perante ele.
30 and of Him ye — ye are in Christ Jesus, who became to us from God wisdom, righteousness also, and sanctification, and redemption,
Mas vós sois dele, em Jesus Cristo, o qual nos foi feito por Deus sabedoria, e justiça, e santificação, e redenção;
31 that, according as it hath been written, 'He who is glorying — in the Lord let him glory.'
Para que, como está escrito: aquele que se gloría glorie-se no Senhor.
