1 Chronicles 10
1 And the Philistines have fought with Israel, and the men of Israel flee from the face of the Philistines, and fall wounded in mount Gilboa,
ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ ഇസ്രായേലിനോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു; ഇസ്രായേല്യർ അവരുടെമുമ്പിൽനിന്നു തോറ്റോടി. അനേകർ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ട്, ഗിൽബോവാപർവതത്തിൽ വീണു.
2 and the Philistines pursue after Saul, and after his sons, and the Philistines smite Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchi-Shua, sons of Saul.
ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ ശൗലിനെയും പുത്രന്മാരെയും പിൻതുടർന്നു ചെന്നു. ശൗലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ യോനാഥാനെയും അബീനാദാബിനെയും മൽക്കീ-ശൂവയെയും അവർ വധിച്ചു.
3 And the battle [is] heavy on Saul, and those shooting with the bow find him, and he is wounded by those shooting,
ആക്രമണം ശൗലിനുചുറ്റും അതിഭീകരമായിത്തീർന്നു. വില്ലാളികൾ ശൗലിന്റെ രക്ഷാനിര ഭേദിച്ചുകടന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ മുറിവേൽപ്പിച്ചു.
4 and Saul saith unto the bearer of his weapons, 'Draw thy sword, and pierce me with it, lest these uncircumcised come — and have abused me.' And the bearer of his weapons hath not been willing, for he feareth exceedingly, and Saul taketh the sword, and falleth upon it;
ശൗൽ തന്റെ ആയുധവാഹകനോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “നീ നിന്റെ വാളൂരി എന്നെ പിളർക്കുക; അല്ലെങ്കിൽ പരിച്ഛേദനമില്ലാത്ത ഈ കൂട്ടർവന്ന് എന്നെ അപമാനിക്കും.” എന്നാൽ ശൗലിന്റെ ആയുധവാഹകൻ ഏറ്റവും ഭയപ്പെടുകയാൽ അപ്രകാരം ചെയ്തില്ല. അതിനാൽ ശൗൽ തന്റെ സ്വന്തം വാൾ പിടിച്ച് അതിന്മേൽ വീണു.
5 and the bearer of his weapons seeth that Saul [is] dead, and falleth, he also, on the sword, and dieth;
ശൗൽ മരിച്ചെന്ന് ആയുധവാഹകൻ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ അയാളും തന്റെ വാളിന്മേൽ വീണുമരിച്ചു.
6 and Saul dieth, and his three sons, and all his house — together they died.
അങ്ങനെ, ശൗലും മൂന്നുപുത്രന്മാരും മരിച്ചു; അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കുടുംബം മുഴുവനും ഒരുമിച്ചു മരിച്ചു.
7 And all the men of Israel who [are] in the valley see that they have fled, and that Saul and his sons have died, and they forsake their cities and flee, and the Philistines come and dwell in them.
ഇസ്രായേൽസൈന്യം തോറ്റോടിയെന്നും ശൗലും പുത്രന്മാരും മരിച്ചെന്നും താഴ്വരയിലുള്ള ഇസ്രായേല്യരെല്ലാം കണ്ടു. അതുകൊണ്ട് അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് പലായനംചെയ്തു. ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ വന്ന് അവിടങ്ങളിൽ പാർപ്പുറപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
8 And it cometh to pass, on the morrow, that the Philistines come to strip the wounded, and find Saul and his sons fallen in mount Gilboa,
അടുത്തദിവസം കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടവരുടെ വസ്ത്രം ഉരിയാൻ ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ വന്നപ്പോൾ ശൗലും പുത്രന്മാരും ഗിൽബോവാപർവതത്തിൽ വീണുകിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.
9 and strip him, and bear away his head, and his weapons, and send into the land of the Philistines round about to proclaim tidings [to] their idols and the people,
അവർ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വസ്ത്രം അഴിച്ചു തല വെട്ടിയെടുത്തു; ആയുധവർഗവും അഴിച്ചെടുത്തു. തങ്ങളുടെ വിഗ്രഹക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലും ജനമധ്യത്തിലും ഈ വാർത്ത പ്രസിദ്ധംചെയ്യുന്നതിനായി അവർ ഫെലിസ്ത്യദേശത്തെല്ലാം സന്ദേശവാഹകരെ അയച്ചു.
10 and put his weapons in the house of their gods, and his skull they have fixed in the house of Dagon.
ശൗലിന്റെ ആയുധവർഗം അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ദേവന്മാരുടെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ വെച്ചു; അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ തല അവർ ദാഗോന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ തൂക്കിയിടുകയും ചെയ്തു.
11 And all Jabesh-Gilead hear of all that the Philistines have done to Saul,
ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ ശൗലിനോടു ചെയ്തത് യാബേശ്-ഗിലെയാദ് നിവാസികളെല്ലാം കേട്ടപ്പോൾ,
12 and all the men of valour rise and bear away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and bring them in to Jabesh, and bury their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and fast seven days.
അവരിലെ പരാക്രമശാലികളെല്ലാം ചെന്ന് ശൗലിന്റെയും പുത്രന്മാരുടെയും ഉടലുകൾ എടുത്ത് യാബേശിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവരുടെ അസ്ഥികൾ ആ ശൂരന്മാർ യാബേശിലെ കരുവേലകത്തിന്റെ കീഴിൽ സംസ്കരിച്ചു; അവർ ഏഴുദിവസം ഉപവസിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
13 And Saul dieth because of his trespass that he trespassed against Jehovah, against the word of Jehovah that he kept not, and also for asking at a familiar spirit — to inquire, —
ശൗൽ യഹോവയോട് അവിശ്വസ്തത കാണിച്ചു, യഹോവയുടെ വചനങ്ങൾ പ്രമാണിച്ചില്ല; അതിനും ഉപരിയായി വെളിച്ചപ്പാടത്തിയോട് ഉപദേശം തേടുകയും ചെയ്തു. അതിനാൽ ശൗലിന് ഈ വിധമുള്ള അന്ത്യം നേരിട്ടു.
14 and he inquired not at Jehovah, and He putteth him to death, and turneth round the kingdom to David son of Jesse.
തന്നോടു മാർഗനിർദേശം ആരാഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നതുകൊണ്ട് യഹോവ അവനെ മരണത്തിനേൽപ്പിച്ചു; രാജ്യം യിശ്ശായിയുടെ പുത്രനായ ദാവീദിനു നൽകുകയും ചെയ്തു.
