< Zechariah 8 >
1 And the word of the Lord of oostis was maad to me,
and to be word LORD Hosts to/for to say
2 and seide, The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Y hatide Sion with greet feruour, and with greet indignacioun Y hatide it.
thus to say LORD Hosts be jealous to/for Zion jealousy great: large and rage great: large be jealous to/for her
3 The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Y am turned ayen to Sion, and Y schal dwelle in the myddil of Jerusalem; and Jerusalem schal be clepid a citee of treuthe, and hil of the Lord schal be clepid an hil halewid.
thus to say LORD to return: return to(wards) Zion and to dwell in/on/with midst Jerusalem and to call: call to Jerusalem city [the] truth: faithful and mountain: mount LORD Hosts mountain: mount [the] holiness
4 The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Yit elde men and elde wymmen schulen dwelle in the stretis of Jerusalem, and the staf of man in his hond, for the multitude of yeeris.
thus to say LORD Hosts still to dwell old and old in/on/with street/plaza Jerusalem and man: anyone staff his in/on/with hand his from abundance day
5 And the stretis of the cite schulen be fillid with `yonge children and maidens, pleiynge in the stretis `of it.
and street/plaza [the] city to fill youth and maiden to laugh in/on/with street/plaza her
6 The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Though it schal be seyn hard bifor the iyen of relifs of this puple in tho daies, whether bifor myn iyen it schal be hard, seith the Lord of oostis?
thus to say LORD Hosts for to wonder in/on/with eye: seeing remnant [the] people [the] this in/on/with day [the] they(masc.) also in/on/with eye: seeing my to wonder utterance LORD Hosts
7 The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal saue my puple fro the lond of the eest, and fro lond of goynge doun of the sunne;
thus to say LORD Hosts look! I to save [obj] people my from land: country/planet east and from land: country/planet entrance [the] sun
8 and Y schal brynge hem, and thei schulen dwelle in the myddil of Jerusalem; and thei schulen be to me in to a puple, and Y schal be to hem in to God, and in treuthe, and in riytwisnesse.
and to come (in): bring [obj] them and to dwell in/on/with midst Jerusalem and to be to/for me to/for people and I to be to/for them to/for God in/on/with truth: faithful and in/on/with righteousness
9 The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Be youre hondis coumfortid, whiche heren in these daies these wordis bi the mouth of profetis, in the dai in which the hous of the Lord of oostis is foundid, that the temple schulde be bildid.
thus to say LORD Hosts to strengthen: strengthen hand your [the] to hear: hear in/on/with day [the] these [obj] [the] word [the] these from lip [the] prophet which in/on/with day to found house: temple LORD Hosts [the] temple to/for to build
10 Sotheli bifore tho daies hire of men was not, nether hire of werk beestis was, nether to man entrynge and goynge out was pees for tribulacioun; and Y lefte alle men, ech ayens his neiybore.
for to/for face: before [the] day [the] they(masc.) wages [the] man not to be and wages [the] animal nothing she and to/for to come out: come and to/for to come (in): come nothing peace: well-being from [the] enemy and to send: depart [obj] all [the] man man: anyone in/on/with neighbor his
11 But now not after the formere daies Y schal do to relifs of this puple, seith the Lord of oostis,
and now not like/as day [the] first: previous I to/for remnant [the] people [the] this utterance LORD Hosts
12 but seed of pees schal be; vyneyerd schal yyue his fruyt, and erthe schal yyue his buriownyng, and heuenes schulen yyue her dew; and Y schal make the relifs of this puple for to welde alle these thingis.
for seed [the] peace [the] vine to give: give fruit her and [the] land: soil to give: give [obj] crops her and [the] heaven to give: give dew their and to inherit [obj] remnant [the] people [the] this [obj] all these
13 And it schal be, as the hous of Juda and hous of Israel weren cursyng in hethene men, so Y schal saue you, and ye schulen be blessyng. Nyle ye drede, be youre hondis coumfortid;
and to be like/as as which to be curse in/on/with nation house: household Judah and house: household Israel so to save [obj] you and to be blessing not to fear to strengthen: strengthen hand your
14 for the Lord of oostis seith these thingis, As Y thouyte for to turmente you, whanne youre fadris hadden terrid me to wraththe,
for thus to say LORD Hosts like/as as which to plan to/for be evil to/for you in/on/with be angry father your [obj] me to say LORD Hosts and not to be sorry: relent
15 seith the Lord, and Y hadde not merci, so Y conuertid thouyte in these daies for to do wel to the hous of Juda and Jerusalem; nyle ye drede.
so to return: again to plan in/on/with day [the] these to/for be good [obj] Jerusalem and [obj] house: household Judah not to fear
16 Therfor these ben the wordis whiche ye schulen do; speke ye treuthe, ech man with his neiybore; deme ye treuthe and dom of pees in youre yatis;
these [the] word: thing which to make: do to speak: speak truth: true man: anyone with neighbor his truth: true and justice: judgement peace to judge in/on/with gate your
17 and thenke ye not in youre hertis, ony man yuel ayens his frend, and loue ye not a fals ooth; for alle thes thingis it ben, whiche Y hate, seith the Lord.
and man: anyone [obj] distress: evil neighbor his not to devise: devise in/on/with heart your and oath deception not to love: lover for [obj] all these which to hate utterance LORD
18 And the word of the Lord of oostis was maad to me,
and to be word LORD Hosts to(wards) me to/for to say
19 and seide, The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Fastyng of the fourthe monethe, `and fastyng of the fyuethe, and fastyng of the seuenthe, and fasting of the tenthe, schal be to the hous of Juda in to ioie and gladnes, and in to solempnitees ful cleer; loue ye oneli treuthe and pees.
thus to say LORD Hosts fast [the] fourth and fast [the] fifth and fast [the] seventh and fast [the] tenth to be to/for house: household Judah to/for rejoicing and to/for joy and to/for meeting: festival pleasant and [the] truth: true and [the] peace to love: lover
20 The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Puplis schulen come on ech side, and dwelle in many citees;
thus to say LORD Hosts still which to come (in): come people and to dwell city many
21 and the dwelleris schulen go, oon to an other, and seie, Go we, and biseche the face of the Lord, and seke we the Lord of oostis; also I shal go.
and to go: went to dwell one to(wards) one to/for to say to go: went to go: went to/for to beg [obj] face of LORD and to/for to seek [obj] LORD Hosts to go: went also I
22 And many puplis schulen come, and strong folkis, for to seke the Lord of oostis in Jerusalem, and for to biseche the face of the Lord.
and to come (in): come people many and nation mighty to/for to seek [obj] LORD Hosts in/on/with Jerusalem and to/for to beg [obj] face of LORD
23 The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, In tho daies, in whiche ten men of alle langagis of hethene men schulen catche, and thei schulen catche the hemme of a man Jew, and seye, We schulen go with you; for we han herd, that God is with you.
thus to say LORD Hosts in/on/with day [the] they(masc.) which to strengthen: hold ten human from all tongue: language [the] nation and to strengthen: hold in/on/with wing man Jew to/for to say to go: went with you for to hear: hear God with you
