Ruth 4
1 Therfor Booz stiede to the yate, and sat there; and whanne he hadde seyn the kynesman passe forth, of whom the word was had, Booz seide to hym, Bowe thou a litil, and sitte here; and he clepide hym bi his name. And he turnede, and sat.
Inzwischen war zum Tore Boaz aufgestiegen und hatte sich dort hingesetzt. Da ging gerade der Verwandte dort vorüber, von dem Boaz gesprochen. Er sprach. "Komm her und setze dich hier nieder, du, so und so!" Er kam herbei und setzte sich.
2 Forsothe Booz took ten `men of the eldere men of the citee, and seide to hem, Sitte ye here.
Dann nahm er von den Ältesten der Stadt zehn Männer und sprach: "Setzt euch nieder hier!" Da setzten sie sich hin.
3 And while thei saten, Booz spak to the kynesman, Noemy, that turnede ayen fro the cuntrey of Moab, seelde the part of the feeld of oure brother Elymelech,
Dann sprach er zum Verwandten: "Das Grundstück, das einst unserem Bruder Elimelek gehörte, setzt Noëmi jetzt dem Verkaufe aus, die wieder aus dem Moabland zurückgekehrt.
4 which thing Y wolde that thou here; and Y wolde seie to thee bifor alle `men syttynge and grettere in birthe of my puple. If thou wolt haue in possessioun the feeld bi riyt of nyy kyn, bye thou, and `haue thou in possessioun; sotheli if it displesith thee, schewe thou this same thing to me, that Y wyte what Y `owe to do; for noon is niy in kyn, outakun thee which art the formere, and outakun me which am the secunde. And he answeride, Y schal bie the feeld.
Nun dachte ich: Ich will es dir zu Ohren bringen. So kauf's in Gegenwart der Männer hier, der Ältesten in meinem Volk! Willst du es lösen, dann löse es ein! Wenn nicht, so melde es mir, daß ich es weiß! Denn außer dir ist niemand da, der es einlösen könnte. Ich aber komme nach dir." Er sprach: "Ich will es einlösen."
5 To whom Booz seide, Whanne thou hast bouyte the feeld of the `hond of the womman, thou owist `to take also Ruth of Moab, that was the wijf of the deed man, that thou reise the name of thi kynesman in his eritage.
Da sagte Boaz: "Damit, daß du von Noëmi das Grundstück jetzt erwirbst, erwirbst du auch die Moabitin Ruth, das Weib des Toten, um so des Toten Namen auf seinem Eigentum wiederum erstehen zu lassen."
6 Which answeride, Y forsake the ryyt of nyy kyn; for Y owe not to do awei the eritage of my meynee; vse thou my priuelegie, which priuelegie Y knowleche me to wante gladli.
Darauf sprach der Verwandte: "Dann kann ich es nicht für mich einlösen. Ich würde meinen Erbbestand schädigen. Was ich zu lösen hätte, lös du ein! Ich kann es nicht einlösen."
7 Forsothe this was the custom bi eld tyme in Israel among kynesmen, that if a man yaf his riyt to anothir man, that the grauntyng were stidefast, the man vnlaase his scho, and yaf to his kynesman; this was the witnessyng of the yift in Israel.
Nun war in Israel vor Zeiten folgendes Brauch bei einer Lösung, einem Tausch, um irgend etwas fest zu machen: Es zog da einer seinen Schuh ab und reichte ihn dem anderen. Das war in Israel die Form für die Bestätigung.
8 Therfor Booz seide to his kynesman, Take the scho fro thee; `which scho he vnlaside anoon fro his foot.
So sprach zu Boaz der Verwandte: "Kauf es für dich!" und zog den Schuh ab.
9 And Booz seide to the grettere men in birthe and to al the puple, Ye ben witnessis to dai, that Y haue take in possessioun alle thingis that weren of Elymelech, and of Chelion, and of Maalon, bi the yifte of Noemy;
Darauf sprach Boaz zu den Ältesten und zu dem ganzen Volk: "Ihr seid jetzt Zeugen, daß ich das ganze Eigentum Elimeleks von Noëmi kaufe, sowie das ganze Eigentum von Kiljon und von Machlon.
10 and that Y haue take in to wedlok Ruth of Moab, the wijf of Maalon, that Y reise the name of the deed man in his erytage; lest his name be doon awey fro his meynee and britheren and puple. Ye, he seide, ben witnessis of this thing.
Dazu erkaufe ich die Moabitin Ruth, die Gattin Machlons, mir zum Weibe, um so des Toten Namen auf seinem Erbbesitze wiederum erstehen zu lassen, damit des Toten Namen aus seiner Brüder Kreise und aus dem Tore seines Orts nicht ausgerottet werde. Ihr seid jetzt meine Zeugen."
11 Al the puple, that was in the yate, answeride, and the grettere men in birthe answeriden, We ben witnessis; the Lord make this womman, that entrith in to thin hows, as Rachel and Lia, that bildiden the hows of Israel, that sche be ensaumple of vertu in Effrata, and haue a solempne name in Bethleem;
Darauf rief alles Volk im Tore und die Ältesten: "Wir sind des Zeugen: Möge nur der Herr das Weib, das in dein Haus einzieht, wie Rachel und wie Lea machen, die beide einst das Haus von Israel begründet! Üb Macht in Ephrat aus; verbreite Ruhm zu Bethlehem!
12 and thin hows be maad as the hows of Fares, whom Thamar childide to Judas, of the seed which the Lord schal yyue to thee of this damesel.
Dein Haus, das werde wie das Haus des Peres, den Tamar Juda einst geboren, durch jenen Stamm, den dir der Herr aus diesem Mädchen schenke!"
13 Therfor Booz took Ruth, and took hir to wijf; and he entride to hir, and the Lord yaf to hir, that sche conseyuede, `and childide a sone.
Und Boaz nahm die Ruth. Sie ward sein Weib. Und als er zu ihr ging, gewährte Segen ihr der Herr. Sie schenkte einem Sohn das Leben.
14 And wymmen seiden to Noemy, Blessid be the Lord, which `suffride not, that an eir failide to thi meynee, and his name were clepid in Israel;
Da sprachen die Frauen zu Noëmi: "Gepriesen sei der Herr, der einen Löser heut dir nicht versagt! Sein Name werde in Israel genannt!"
15 and that thou haue `a man, that schal coumforte thi soule, and nursche elde age. For a child is borun of thi douytir in lawe, `which child schal loue thee, and he is myche betere to thee, than if thou haddist seuene sones.
Er möge dich am Leben auch erhalten und so Versorger deines Alters werden! Denn deine Schwiegertochter, die dich liebt, hat ihn geboren, sie, die dir mehr wert ist als sieben Söhne."
16 And Noemy puttide the child resseyued in hir bosum; and sche dide the office of a nurische, and of a berere.
Darauf nahm Noëmi das Kind und legte es auf ihren Schoß und ward ihm eine Wärterin.
17 Forsothe wymmen neiyboris thankiden hir, and seiden, A sone is borun to Noemy, and clepide his name Obeth. This is the fadir of Ysay, fadir of Dauid.
Da gaben ihm die Nachbarinnen einen Namen: "Ein Sohn ist Noëmi geboren." Sie nannten seinen Namen also Obed. Das ist der Vater Isais; der ist der Vater Davids.
18 These ben the generaciouns of Fares; Fares gendride Esrom;
Das ist des Peres Stammbaum: Peres zeugte Hezron.
19 Esrom gendride Aram; Aram gendride Amynadab;
Und Hezron zeugte Ram, und Ram zeugte den Aminadab.
20 Amynadab gendride Naason; Naason gendride Salmon; Salmon gendride Booz;
Aminadab zeugte Nachson, und Nachson zeugte Salmon.
21 Booz gendride Obeth;
Und Salmon zeugte Boaz, und Boaz zeugte Obed.
22 Obeth gendride Isay; Isay gendride Dauid the kyng.
Und Obed zeugte Isai, und Isai zeugte David.
