< Romans 9 >
1 I seie treuthe in Crist Jhesu, Y lye not, for my conscience berith witnessyng to me in the Hooli Goost,
Ninasema kweli katika Kristo, wala sisemi uongo, dhamiri yangu inanishuhudia katika Roho Mtakatifu.
2 for greet heuynesse is to me, and contynuel sorewe to my herte.
Nina huzuni kuu na uchungu usiokoma moyoni mwangu.
3 For Y my silf desiride to be departid fro Crist for my britheren, that ben my cosyns aftir the fleisch, that ben men of Israel;
Kwa maana ningetamani hata mimi nilaaniwe na kutengwa na Kristo kwa ajili ya ndugu zangu hasa, wale walio wa kabila langu kwa jinsi ya mwili,
4 whos is adopcioun of sones, and glorie, and testament, and yyuyng of the lawe, and seruyce, and biheestis;
yaani, watu wa Israeli, ambao ndio wenye kule kufanywa wana, ule utukufu wa Mungu, yale maagano, kule kupokea sheria, ibada ya kwenye Hekalu na zile ahadi.
5 whos ben the fadris, and of which is Crist after the fleisch, that is God aboue alle thingis, blessid in to worldis. (aiōn )
Wao ni wa uzao wa mababa wakuu wa kwanza, ambao kutoka kwao Kristo alikuja kwa jinsi ya mwili kama mwanadamu, yeye ambaye ni Mungu aliye juu ya vyote, mwenye kuhimidiwa milele! Amen. (aiōn )
6 Amen. But not that the word of God hath falle doun. For not alle that ben of Israel, these ben Israelitis.
Si kwamba Neno la Mungu limeshindwa. Kwa maana si kila Mwisraeli ambaye ni wa uzao utokanao na Israeli ni Mwisraeli halisi.
7 Nethir thei that ben seed of Abraham, `alle ben sonys; but in Ysaac the seed schal be clepid to thee;
Wala hawakuwi wazao wa Abrahamu kwa sababu wao ni watoto wake, lakini: “Uzao wako utahesabiwa kupitia kwake Isaki.”
8 that is to seie, not thei that ben sones of the fleisch, ben sones of God, but thei that ben sones of biheeste ben demed in the seed.
Hii ina maana kwamba, si watoto waliozaliwa kimwili walio watoto wa Mungu, bali ni watoto wa ahadi wanaohesabiwa kuwa uzao wa Abrahamu.
9 For whi this is the word of biheest, Aftir this tyme Y schal come, and a sone schal be to Sare.
Kwa maana ahadi yenyewe ilisema, “Nitakurudia tena wakati kama huu, naye Sara atapata mtoto wa kiume.”
10 And not oneli sche, but also Rebecca hadde twey sones of o liggyng bi of Ysaac, oure fadir.
Wala si hivyo tu, bali pia watoto aliowazaa Rebeka walikuwa na baba huyo huyo mmoja, yaani, baba yetu Isaki.
11 And whanne thei weren not yit borun, nether hadden don ony thing of good ether of yuel, that the purpos of God schulde dwelle bi eleccioun,
Lakini, hata kabla hao mapacha hawajazaliwa au kufanya jambo lolote jema au baya, ili kwamba kusudi la Mungu la kuchagua lipate kusimama,
12 not of werkis, but of God clepynge, it was seid to hym,
si kwa matendo, bali kwa yeye mwenye kuita, Rebeka aliambiwa, “Yule mkubwa atamtumikia yule mdogo.”
13 that the more schulde serue the lesse, as it is writun, Y louede Jacob, but Y hatide Esau.
Kama vile ilivyoandikwa, “Nimempenda Yakobo, lakini nimemchukia Esau.”
14 What therfor schulen we seie? Whether wickidnesse be anentis God?
Tuseme nini basi? Je, Mungu ni dhalimu? La, hasha!
15 God forbede. For he seith to Moyses, Y schal haue merci on whom Y haue merci; and Y schal yyue merci on whom Y schal haue merci.
Kwa maana Mungu alimwambia Mose, “Nitamrehemu yeye nimrehemuye, na pia nitamhurumia yeye nimhurumiaye.”
16 Therfor it is not nether of man willynge, nethir rennynge, but of God hauynge mercy.
Kwa hiyo haitegemei kutaka kwa mwanadamu au jitihada, bali hutegemea huruma ya Mungu.
17 And the scripture seith to Farao, For to this thing Y haue stirid thee, that Y schewe in thee my vertu, and that my name be teld in al erthe.
Kwa maana Maandiko yamwambia Farao, “Nilikuinua kwa kusudi hili hasa, ili nipate kuonyesha uweza wangu juu yako, na ili Jina langu lipate kutangazwa duniani yote.”
18 Therfor of whom God wole, he hath merci; and whom he wole, he endurith.
Kwa hiyo basi, Mungu humhurumia yeye atakaye kumhurumia na humfanya mgumu yeye atakaye kumfanya mgumu.
19 Thanne seist thou to me, What is souyt yit? for who withstondith his wille?
Basi mtaniambia, “Kama ni hivyo, kwa nini basi bado Mungu anatulaumu? Kwa maana ni nani awezaye kupinga mapenzi yake?”
20 O! man, who art thou, that answerist to God? Whether a maad thing seith to hym that made it, What hast thou maad me so?
Lakini, ewe mwanadamu, u nani wewe ushindane na Mungu? “Je, kilichoumbwa chaweza kumwambia yeye aliyekiumba, ‘Kwa nini umeniumba hivi?’”
21 Whether a potter of cley hath not power to make of the same gobet o vessel in to honour, an othere in to dispit?
Je, mfinyanzi hana haki ya kufinyanga kutoka bonge moja vyombo vya udongo, vingine kwa matumizi ya heshima na vingine kwa matumizi ya kawaida?
22 That if God willynge to schewe his wraththe, and to make his power knowun, hath suffrid in greet pacience vessels of wraththe able in to deth,
Iweje basi, kama Mungu kwa kutaka kuonyesha ghadhabu yake na kufanya uweza wake ujulikane, amevumilia kwa uvumilivu mwingi vile vyombo vya ghadhabu vilivyoandaliwa kwa uharibifu?
23 to schewe the riytchessis of his glorie in to vessels of merci, whiche he made redi in to glorie.
Iweje basi, kama yeye alitenda hivi ili kufanya wingi wa utukufu wake ujulikane kwa vile vyombo vya rehema yake, alivyotangulia kuvitengeneza kwa ajili ya utukufu wake,
24 Whiche also he clepide not oneli of Jewis, but also of hethene men, as he seith in Osee,
yaani pamoja na sisi, ambao pia alituita, si kutoka kwa Wayahudi peke yao, bali pia kutoka kwa watu wa Mataifa?
25 Y schal clepe not my puple my puple, and not my loued my louyd, and not getynge mercy getynge merci;
Kama vile Mungu asemavyo katika Hosea: “Nitawaita ‘watu wangu’ wale ambao si watu wangu; nami nitamwita ‘mpenzi wangu’ yeye ambaye si mpenzi wangu,”
26 and it schal be in the place, where it is seid to hem, Not ye my puple, there thei schulen be clepid the sones of `God lyuynge.
tena, “Itakuwa hasa mahali pale walipoambiwa, ‘Ninyi si watu wangu,’ wao wataitwa ‘wana wa Mungu aliye hai.’”
27 But Isaye crieth for Israel, If the noumbre of Israel schal be as grauel of the see, the relifs schulen be maad saaf.
Isaya anapiga kelele kuhusu Israeli: “Ingawa idadi ya wana wa Israeli ni wengi kama mchanga wa pwani, ni mabaki yao tu watakaookolewa.
28 Forsothe a word makynge an ende, and abreggynge in equyte, for the Lord schal make a word breggid on al the erthe.
Kwa kuwa Bwana ataitekeleza hukumu yake duniani kwa haraka na kwa ukamilifu.”
29 And as Ysaye bifor seide, But God of oostis hadde left to vs seed, we hadden be maad as Sodom, and we hadden be lijk as Gommor.
Ni kama vile alivyotabiri Isaya akisema: “Kama Bwana Mwenye Nguvu Zote asingelituachia uzao, tungelikuwa kama Sodoma, tungelifanana na Gomora.”
30 Therfor what schulen we seie? That hethene men that sueden not riytwisnesse, han gete riytwisnesse, yhe, the riytwisnesse that is of feith.
Kwa hiyo tuseme nini basi? Kwamba watu wa Mataifa ambao hawakutafuta haki, wamepata haki ile iliyo kwa njia ya imani.
31 But Israel suynge the lawe of riytwisnesse, cam not parfitli in to the lawe of riytwisnesse.
Lakini Israeli, ambao walijitahidi kupata haki kwa njia ya sheria, hawakuipata.
32 Whi? For not of feith, but as of werkys. And thei spurneden ayens the stoon of offencioun,
Kwa nini? Kwa sababu hawakuitafuta kwa njia ya imani bali kwa njia ya matendo. Wakajikwaa kwenye lile “jiwe la kukwaza.”
33 as it is writun, Lo! Y putte a stoon of offensioun in Syon, and a stoon of sclaundre; and ech that schal bileue `in it, schal not be confoundid.
Kama ilivyoandikwa: “Tazama naweka katika Sayuni jiwe la kukwaza watu na mwamba wa kuwaangusha. Yeyote atakayemwamini hataaibika kamwe.”
