1 Apocalips of Jhesu Crist, which God yaf to hym to make open to hise seruauntis, whiche thingis it bihoueth to be maad soone. And he signyfiede, sending bi his aungel to his seruaunt Joon,
Aceasta este Revelația lui Isus Hristos, pe care i-a dat-o Dumnezeu ca să arate robilor Săi lucrurile care trebuie să se întâmple curând, pe care a trimis-o și a făcut-o cunoscută prin îngerul Său robului Său, Ioan,
2 whiche bar witnessing to the word of God, and witnessing of Jhesu Crist, in these thingis, what euer thingis he say.
care a mărturisit cuvântul lui Dumnezeu și mărturia lui Isus Hristos, despre tot ce a văzut.
3 Blessid is he that redith, and he that herith the wordis of this prophecie, and kepith tho thingis that ben writun in it; for the tyme is niy.
Ferice de cel ce citește și de cei ce ascultă cuvintele proorociei și păzesc cele scrise în ea, căci timpul este aproape.
4 Joon to seuene chirchis, that ben in Asie, grace and pees to you, of him that is, and that was, and that is to comynge; and of the seuene spiritis, that ben in the siyt of his trone; and of Jhesu Crist,
Ioan, către cele șapte adunări care sunt în Asia: Har vouă și pace de la Dumnezeu, care este, care era și care va veni, și de la cele șapte duhuri care sunt înaintea tronului Lui,
5 that is a feithful witnesse, the firste bigetun of deed men, and prince of kingis of the erthe; which louyde vs, and waischide vs fro oure synnes in his blood,
și de la Isus Hristos, martorul credincios, întâiul născut dintre cei morți și conducătorul regilor pământului. Celui care ne iubește și ne-a spălat de păcatele noastre cu sângele său —

și ne-a făcut să fim un regat, preoți ai Dumnezeului și Tatălui său — lui să fie gloria și stăpânirea în vecii vecilor. Amin. (aiōn g165)

Iată, El vine cu norii și orice ochi Îl va vedea, chiar și cei ce L-au străpuns. Toate semințiile pământului îl vor plânge. Chiar și așa, Amin.

9 I, Joon, youre brothir, and partener in tribulacioun, and kingdom, and pacience in Crist Jhesu, was in an ile, that is clepid Pathmos, for the word of God, and for the witnessyng of Jhesu.
Eu, Ioan, fratele vostru și partenerul vostru în asuprire, în Împărăție și în perseverența în Hristos Isus, am fost pe insula numită Patmos, din cauza Cuvântului lui Dumnezeu și a mărturiei lui Isus Hristos.

care spunea: “Ce vezi, scrie într-o carte și trimite la cele șapte adunări: la Efes, Smirna, Pergam, Tiatira, Sardes, Filadelfia și Laodiceea”.
12 And Y turnede, that Y schulde se the vois that spak with me; and Y turnede, and Y say seuene candelstikis of gold,
M-am întors să văd vocea care vorbea cu mine. După ce m-am întors, am văzut șapte sfeșnice de aur.
13 and in the myddil of the seuene goldun candelstikis oon lijk to the sone of man, clothid with a long garnement, and gird at the tetis with a goldun girdil.
Și printre sfeșnice era unul ca un fiu de om, îmbrăcat cu o haină care-i ajungea până la picioare și cu o cingătoare de aur în jurul pieptului.
14 And the heed of hym and his heeris weren whijt, as whijt wolle, and as snow; and the iyen of hym as flawme of fier,
Capul și părul lui erau albe ca lâna albă, ca zăpada. Ochii lui erau ca o flacără de foc.
15 and hise feet lijk to latoun, as in a brennynge chymney; and the vois of hym as the vois of many watris.
Picioarele lui erau ca arama lustruită, ca și cum ar fi fost rafinată într-un cuptor. Glasul lui era ca un glas de ape multe.
16 And he hadde in his riyt hoond seuene sterris, and a swerd scharp on euer ethir side wente out of his mouth; and his face as the sunne schyneth in his virtu.
Avea șapte stele în mâna dreaptă. Din gura lui ieșea o sabie ascuțită cu două tăișuri. Fața lui era ca soarele care strălucește la maxim.
17 And whanne Y hadde seyn hym, Y felde doun at hise feet, as deed. And he puttide his riyt hond on me, and seide, Nyle thou drede; Y am the firste and the laste;
Când l-am văzut, am căzut la picioarele lui ca un mort. Și-a pus mâna dreaptă peste mine și mi-a zis: “Nu te teme. Eu sunt Cel dintâi și Cel de pe urmă,
19 Therfor write thou whiche thingis thou hast seyn, and whiche ben, and whiche it bihoueth to be don aftir these thingis.
Scrieți, așadar, lucrurile pe care le-ați văzut, lucrurile care sunt și lucrurile care se vor întâmpla în viitor.
20 The sacrament of the seuene sterris, which thou seiyest in my riyt hond, and the seuene goldun candelstikis; the seuene sterris ben aungels of the seuene chirchis, and the seuene candelstikis ben seuene chirchis.
Taina celor șapte stele pe care le-ai văzut în mâna Mea dreaptă și a celor șapte sfeșnice de aur este aceasta: Cele șapte stele sunt îngerii celor șapte adunări. Cele șapte sfeșnice sunt cele șapte adunări.
