Psalms 91
1 He that dwellith in the help of the hiyeste God; schal dwelle in the proteccioun of God of heuene.
Celui qui s’abrite sous la protection du Très-Haut repose à l’ombre du Tout-Puissant.
2 He schal seie to the Lord, Thou art myn vptaker, and my refuit; my God, Y schal hope in him.
Je dis à Yahweh: « Tu es mon refuge et ma forteresse, mon Dieu en qui je me confie. »
3 For he delyuered me fro the snare of hunteris; and fro a scharp word.
Car c’est lui qui te délivre du filet de l’oiseleur et de la peste funeste.
4 With hise schuldris he schal make schadowe to thee; and thou schalt haue hope vnder hise fetheris.
Il te couvrira de ses ailes, et sous ses plumes tu trouveras un refuge. Sa fidélité est un bouclier et une cuirasse.
5 His treuthe schal cumpasse thee with a scheld; thou schalt not drede of nyytis drede.
Tu n’auras à craindre ni les terreurs de la nuit, ni la flèche qui vole pendant le jour,
6 Of an arowe fliynge in the dai, of a gobelyn goynge in derknessis; of asailing, and a myddai feend.
ni la peste qui marche dans les ténèbres, ni la contagion qui ravage en plein midi.
7 A thousynde schulen falle doun fro thi side, and ten thousynde fro thi riytside; forsothe it schal not neiye to thee.
Que mille tombent à ton côté, et dix mille à ta droite, tu ne seras pas atteint.
8 Netheles thou schalt biholde with thin iyen; and thou schalt se the yelding of synneris.
De tes yeux seulement tu regarderas, et tu verras la rétribution des méchants.
9 For thou, Lord, art myn hope; thou hast set thin help altherhiyeste.
Car tu as dit: « Tu es mon refuge, Yahweh! » tu as fait du Très-Haut ton asile.
10 Yuel schal not come to thee; and a scourge schal not neiye to thi tabernacle.
Le malheur ne viendra pas jusqu’à toi, aucun fléau n’approchera de ta tente.
11 For God hath comaundid to hise aungels of thee; that thei kepe thee in alle thi weies.
Car il ordonnera à ses anges de te garder dans toutes tes voies.
12 Thei schulen beere thee in the hondis; leste perauenture thou hirte thi foot at a stoon.
Ils te porteront sur leurs mains, de peur que ton pied ne heurte contre la pierre.
13 Thou schalt go on a snake, and a cocatrice; and thou schalt defoule a lioun and a dragoun.
Tu marcheras sur le lion et sur l’aspic, tu fouleras le lionceau et le dragon. —
14 For he hopide in me, Y schal delyuere hym; Y schal defende him, for he knew my name.
« Puisqu’il s’est attaché à moi, je le délivrerai; je le protégerai, puisqu’il connaît mon nom.
15 He criede to me, and Y schal here him, Y am with him in tribulacioun; Y schal delyuere him, and Y schal glorifie hym.
Il m’invoquera et je l’exaucerai; je serai avec lui dans la détresse. « Je le délivrerai et le glorifierai.
16 I schal fille hym with the lengthe of daies; and Y schal schewe myn helthe to him.
Je le rassasierai de longs jours, et je lui ferai voir mon salut. »
