Psalms 87

1 `The salm of the song of the sones of Chore. The foundementis therof ben in hooli hillis;

مزمور پسران قورح. سرود. اورشلیم بر کوههای مقدّس بنا شده است.

2 the Lord loueth the yatis of Sion, more than alle the tabernaclis of Jacob.

خداوند آن را بیش از سایر شهرهای اسرائیل دوست دارد.

3 Thou citee of God, with outen ende; gloriouse thingis ben seide of thee.

ای شهر خدا، چه سخنان پرشکوه دربارهٔ تو گفته می‌شود.

4 I schal be myndeful of Raab, and Babiloyne; knowynge me. Lo! aliens, and Tyre, and the puple of Ethiopiens; thei weren there.

رَهَب و بابِل را جزو کسانی که مرا می‌شناسند خواهم شمرد، همچنین فلسطین و صور و حبشه را. همۀ آنها شهروندان اورشلیم خواهند شد!

5 Whether a man schal seie to Sion, And a man is born ther ynne; and that man altherhiyeste foundide it?

دربارهٔ اورشلیم خواهند گفت که تمام قومهای دنیا به آن تعلق دارند و اینکه خدای قادر متعال اورشلیم را قوی خواهد ساخت.

6 The Lord schal telle in the scripturis of puplis; and of these princis, that weren ther ynne.

هنگامی که خداوند اسامی قومها را ثبت نماید، همهٔ آنها را به اورشلیم نسبت خواهد داد.

7 As the dwellyng `of alle that ben glad; is in thee.

آن قومها سرودخوانان و رقص‌کنان خواهند گفت: «اورشلیم سرچشمهٔ همهٔ برکات و خوشیهای ماست!»
