< Psalms 86 >
1 The preier of Dauid. Lord, bowe doun thin eere, and here me; for Y am nedi and pore.
Yahweh, listen [IDM] to what I say and answer me, because I am weak and needy.
2 Kepe thou my lijf, for Y am holi; my God, make thou saaf thi seruaunt hopynge in thee.
Prevent me from dying now, because I (am loyal to/continue to believe in) you; save/rescue me, because I serve you and I trust in you, my God.
3 Lord, haue thou merci on me, for Y criede al day to thee;
Lord, be kind to me, because I cry out to you all during the day.
4 make thou glad the soule of thi seruaunt, for whi, Lord, Y haue reisid my soule to thee.
Lord, cause me to be glad, because I (pray to/worship) [IDM] you.
5 For thou, Lord, art swete and mylde; and of myche merci to alle men inwardli clepynge thee.
Lord, you are good [to us], and you forgive [us]; you faithfully love very much all those who (pray/call out) to you.
6 Lord, perseyue thou my preier with eeris; and yyue thou tente to the vois of my bisechyng.
Lord, listen to my prayer; hear me when I cry out to you to help me.
7 In the dai of my tribulacioun Y criede to thee; for thou herdist me.
When I have troubles, I call out to you, because you answer me.
8 Lord, noon among goddis is lijk thee; and noon is euene to thi werkis.
Lord, among all the gods [whom the heathen nations worship], there is no one like you; not one of them has done [the great things] that you have done.
9 Lord, alle folkis, whiche euere thou madist, schulen come, and worschipe bifore thee; and thei schulen glorifie thi name.
Lord, [some day, people from] all the nations that you have established will come and bow down in front of you and they will praise you [MTY].
10 For thou art ful greet, and makinge merueils; thou art God aloone.
You are great, and you do wonderful/marvelous things; only you are God.
11 Lord, lede thou me forth in thi weie, and Y schal entre in thi treuthe; myn herte be glad, that it drede thi name.
Yahweh, teach me what you want me to do in order that I may conduct my life according to what you say, which is true. Cause/Teach me to revere you.
12 Mi Lord God, Y schal knouleche to thee in al myn herte; and Y schal glorifie thi name withouten ende.
Lord, my God, I [will] thank you with all my inner being, and I will praise you forever.
13 For thi merci is greet on me; and thou deliueridist my soule fro the lower helle. (Sheol )
You faithfully love me very much; you have prevented me from [dying and going to] the place where dead people are. (Sheol )
14 God, wickid men han rise vp on me; and the synagoge of myyti men han souyt my lijf; and thei han not set forth thee in her siyt.
But God, proud men are [trying to] attack me; a gang/group of cruel men are wanting to kill me; they are men who do not have any (respect for/interest in) you.
15 And thou, Lord God, doynge merci, and merciful; pacient, and of myche merci, and sothefast.
But Lord, you always are mercifully and kind; you do not become angry quickly, you faithfully love us very much and always do for us what you have promised to do.
16 Biholde on me, and haue mercy on me, yyue thou the empire to thi child; and make thou saaf the sone of thin handmayden.
Look down toward me and be merciful to me; cause me to be strong and save/rescue me who serves you [faithfully] like my mother did.
17 Make thou with me a signe in good, that thei se, that haten me, and be aschamed; for thou, Lord, hast helpid me, and hast coumfortid me.
Yahweh, do something to show me that you are being good to me in order that those who hate me will see that you have encouraged me and helped me, and as a result they will be ashamed.
