Psalms 83
1 The song of the salm of Asaph. God, who schal be lijk thee? God, be thou not stille, nether be thou peesid.
Ein Psalmlied; von Asaph. Bleibe nicht stille, o Gott, schweige nicht und halte nicht inne!
2 For lo! thin enemyes sowneden; and thei that haten thee reisiden the heed.
Denn siehe, deine Feinde toben, und die dich hassen, erheben das Haupt.
3 Thei maden a wickid counsel on thi puple; and thei thouyten ayens thi seyntis.
Sie machen listige Anschläge wider dein Volk, verabreden sich wider deine Schutzbefohlenen.
4 Thei seiden, Come ye, and leese we hem fro the folk; and the name of Israel be no more hadde in mynde.
Sie sprechen: «Kommt, wir wollen sie vertilgen, daß sie kein Volk mehr seien, daß des Namens Israel nicht mehr gedacht werde!»
5 For thei thouyten with oon acord;
Ja, sie fassen einen einmütigen Beschluß, sie schließen einen Bund wider dich;
6 the tabernaclis of Ydumeys, and men of Ismael disposiden a testament togidere ayens thee. Moab, and Agarenus, Jebal, and Amon, and Amalech;
die Zelte Edoms und die Ismaeliter, Moab und die Hagariter;
7 alienys with hem that dwellen in Tyre.
Gebal, Ammon und Amalek, die Philister samt denen zu Tyrus.
8 For Assur cometh with hem; thei ben maad in to help to the sones of Loth.
Auch Assur hat sich mit ihnen befreundet und leiht den Kindern Lots seinen Arm. (Pause)
9 Make thou to hem as to Madian, and Sisara; as to Jabyn in the stronde of Sison.
Tue ihnen wie Midian, wie Sisera, wie Jabin am Bach Kison,
10 Thei perischiden in Endor; thei weren maad as a toord of erthe.
die vertilgt wurden zu Endor, zu Dünger wurden fürs Ackerfeld.
11 Putte thou the prynces of hem as Oreb and Zeb; and Zebee and Salmana. Alle the princis of hem, that seiden;
Mache ihre Edlen wie Oreb und Seb, wie Sebach und Zalmuna alle ihre Fürsten,
12 Holde we bi eritage the seyntuarie of God.
die da sagen: «Wir wollen die Wohnstätten Gottes für uns erobern!»
13 My God, putte thou hem as a whele; and as stobil bifor the face of the wynde.
O Gott, setze sie dem Wirbelsturm aus, mache sie wie Stoppeln vor dem Wind;
14 As fier that brenneth a wode; and as flawme brynnynge hillis.
wie ein Feuer, das den Wald verbrennt, und wie eine Flamme, welche die Berge versengt;
15 So thou schalt pursue hem in thi tempeste; and thou schalt disturble hem in thin ire.
also verfolge sie mit deinem Wetter und schrecke sie mit deinem Sturm!
16 Lord, fille thou the faces of hem with schenschipe; and thei schulen seke thi name.
Mache ihr Angesicht voll Schande, daß sie deinen Namen suchen, o HERR!
17 Be thei aschamed, and be thei disturblid in to world of world; and be thei schent and perische thei.
Laß sie beschämt und abgeschreckt werden für immer, laß sie schamrot werden und umkommen,
18 And knowe thei, that the Lord is name to thee; thou aloone art the hiyeste in ech lond.
so daß sie erfahren müssen, daß du, der du HERR heißest, allein der Höchste bist über die ganze Erde!
