Psalms 83
1 The song of the salm of Asaph. God, who schal be lijk thee? God, be thou not stille, nether be thou peesid.
Cantique. Psaume d’Asaph. Ô Dieu, ne reste pas dans l’inaction; ne te tais pas et ne te repose pas, ô Dieu!
2 For lo! thin enemyes sowneden; and thei that haten thee reisiden the heed.
Car voici que tes ennemis s’agitent bruyamment, ceux qui te haïssent lèvent la tête.
3 Thei maden a wickid counsel on thi puple; and thei thouyten ayens thi seyntis.
Ils forment contre ton peuple un dessein perfide, ils conspirent contre ceux que tu protèges:
4 Thei seiden, Come ye, and leese we hem fro the folk; and the name of Israel be no more hadde in mynde.
« Venez, disent-ils, exterminons-les d’entre les nations, et qu’on ne prononce plus le nom d’Israël! »
5 For thei thouyten with oon acord;
Ils se concertent tous d’un même cœur, contre toi ils forment une alliance,
6 the tabernaclis of Ydumeys, and men of Ismael disposiden a testament togidere ayens thee. Moab, and Agarenus, Jebal, and Amon, and Amalech;
les tentes d’Edom et les Ismaélites, Moab et les Agaréniens,
7 alienys with hem that dwellen in Tyre.
Gébal, Ammon et Amalec, les Philistins avec les habitants de Tyr;
8 For Assur cometh with hem; thei ben maad in to help to the sones of Loth.
Assur aussi se joint à eux et prête son bras aux enfants de Lot. — Séla.
9 Make thou to hem as to Madian, and Sisara; as to Jabyn in the stronde of Sison.
Traite-les comme Madian, comme Sisara, comme Jabin au torrent de Cison.
10 Thei perischiden in Endor; thei weren maad as a toord of erthe.
Ils ont été anéantis à Endor, ils ont servi d’engrais à la terre.
11 Putte thou the prynces of hem as Oreb and Zeb; and Zebee and Salmana. Alle the princis of hem, that seiden;
Traite leurs chefs comme Oreb et Zeb, et tous leurs princes comme Zébée et Salmana.
12 Holde we bi eritage the seyntuarie of God.
Car ils disent: « Emparons-nous des demeures de Dieu! »
13 My God, putte thou hem as a whele; and as stobil bifor the face of the wynde.
Mon Dieu, rends-les semblables au tourbillon, au chaume qu’emporte le vent!
14 As fier that brenneth a wode; and as flawme brynnynge hillis.
Comme le feu dévore la forêt, comme la flamme embrase les montagnes,
15 So thou schalt pursue hem in thi tempeste; and thou schalt disturble hem in thin ire.
ainsi poursuis-les dans ta tempête, épouvante-les dans ton ouragan.
16 Lord, fille thou the faces of hem with schenschipe; and thei schulen seke thi name.
Couvre leurs faces d’ignominie, afin qu’ils cherchent ton nom, Yahweh.
17 Be thei aschamed, and be thei disturblid in to world of world; and be thei schent and perische thei.
Qu’ils soient à jamais dans la confusion et l’épouvante, dans la honte et dans la ruine!
18 And knowe thei, that the Lord is name to thee; thou aloone art the hiyeste in ech lond.
Qu’ils sachent que toi, — ton nom est Yahweh, — tu es seul le Très-Haut sur toute la terre!
