Psalms 82

1 Of Asaph. God stood in the synagoge of goddis; forsothe he demeth goddis in the myddil.

आसफ का एक स्तोत्र. स्वर्गिक महासभा में परमेश्वर ने अपना स्थान ग्रहण किया है; उन्होंने “देवताओं” के सामने अपना निर्णय सुना दिया है:

2 Hou longe demen ye wickidnesse; and taken the faces of synneris?

कब तक तुम अन्यायी को समर्थन करते रहोगे, कब तक तुम अन्याय का पक्षपात करते रहोगे?

3 Deme ye to the nedi man, and to the modirles child; iustifie ye the meke man and pore.

दुःखी तथा पितृहीन का पक्ष दृढ़ करो; दरिद्रों एवं दुःखितों के अधिकारों की रक्षा करो.

4 Raueische ye out a pore man; and delyuere ye the nedi man fro the hond of the synner.

दुर्बल एवं दीनों को छुड़ा लो; दुष्ट के फंदे से उन्हें बचा लो.

5 Thei knewen not, nether vndirstoden, thei goen in derknessis; alle the foundementis of erthe schulen be moued.

“वे कुछ नहीं जानते, वे कुछ नहीं समझते. वे अंधकार में आगे बढ़ रहे हैं; पृथ्वी के समस्त आधार डगमगा गए हैं.

6 I seide, Ye ben goddis; and alle ye ben the sones of hiy God.

“मैंने कहा, ‘तुम “ईश्वर” हो; तुम सभी सर्वोच्च परमेश्वर की संतान हो.’

7 But ye schulen die as men; and ye schulen falle doun as oon of the princis.

किंतु तुम सभी की मृत्यु दूसरे मनुष्यों सी होगी; तुम्हारा पतन भी अन्य शासकों के समान ही होगा.”

8 Ryse, thou God, deme thou the erthe; for thou schalt haue eritage in alle folkis.

परमेश्वर, उठकर पृथ्वी का न्याय कीजिए, क्योंकि समस्त राष्ट्रों पर आपका प्रभुत्व है.
