Psalms 81

1 To the ouercomer in the pressours of Asaph. Make ye fulli ioye to God, oure helpere; synge ye hertli to God of Jacob.

١ لِقَائِدِ الْمُنْشِدِينَ عَلَى الْجَتِّيَّةِ. لآسَافَ رَنِّمُوا بِفَرَحٍ للهِ قُوَّتِنَا، اهْتِفُوا عَالِياً لإِلَهِ يَعْقُوبَ.

2 Take ye a salm, and yyue ye a tympan; a myrie sautere with an harpe.

٢ أَنْشِدُوا نَشِيداً، وَانْقُرُوا عَلَى الدُّفِّ وَاعْزِفُوا عَلَى الْعُودِ الْمُطْرِبِ، وَعَلَى الرَّبَابِ.

3 Blowe ye with a trumpe in Neomenye; in the noble dai of youre solempnite.

٣ انْفُخُوا بِالْبُوقِ فِي أَوَّلِ الشَّهْرِ، فِي الْوَقْتِ الْمُعَيَّنِ لِيَوْمِ عِيدِنَا،

4 For whi comaundement is in Israel; and doom is to God of Jacob.

٤ لأَنَّ هَذَا فَرِيضَةٌ مَرْسُومَةٌ عَلَى إِسْرَائِيلَ، وَحُكْمٌ يُوْجِبُهُ إِلَهُ يَعْقُوبَ.

5 He settide that witnessing in Joseph; whanne he yede out of the lond of Egipt, he herde a langage, which he knew not.

٥ جَعَلَهُ شَهَادَةً لَهُ بَيْنَ (قَوْمِ) يُوسُفَ، عِنْدَمَا ضَرَبَ مِصْرَ، حَيْثُ سَمِعْنَا لُغَةً لَمْ نَعْرِفْهَا تَقُولُ:

6 He turnede a wei his bak fro birthens; hise hondis serueden in a coffyn.

٦ «أَزَحْتُ كَتِفَهُ مِنْ تَحْتِ الأَحْمَالِ الثَّقِيلَةِ، وَسَلِمَتْ يَدَاهُ مِنْ حَمْلِ السِّلالِ.

7 In tribulacioun thou inwardli clepidist me, and Y delyuerede thee; Y herde thee in the hid place of tempest, Y preuede thee at the water of ayenseiyng.

٧ دَعَوْتَنِي فِي الضِّيقِ فَنَجَّيْتُكَ. اسْتَجَبْتُ لَكَ مِنْ مَكْمَنِ الرَّعْدِ. جَرَّبْتُكَ عِنْدَ مِيَاهِ مَرِيبَةَ.

8 My puple, here thou, and Y schal be witnesse ayens thee;

٨ اسْمَعْ يَا شَعْبِي فَأُحَذِّرَكَ، يَا إِسْرَائِيلُ هَلّا سَمِعْتَ لِي؟

9 Israel, if thou herist me, a fresche God schal not be in thee, and thou schalt not worschipe an alien god.

٩ لَا تَكُنْ فِيكَ عِبَادَةٌ لإِلَهٍ غَرِيبٍ، وَلَا تَسْجُدْ لإِلَهٍ أَجْنَبِيٍّ.

10 For Y am thi Lord God, that ladde thee out of the lond of Egipt; make large thi mouth, and Y schal fille it.

١٠ أَنَا الرَّبُّ إِلَهُكَ الَّذِي أَنْقَذَكَ مِنْ أَرْضِ مِصْرَ: افْتَحْ فَمَكَ وَاسِعاً فَأَمْلأَهُ خَيْراً.

11 And my puple herde not my vois; and Israel yaue not tente to me.

١١ غَيْرَ أَنَّ شَعْبِي لَمْ يَسْمَعْ لِي، وَإِسْرَائِيلَ لَمْ يَرْضَ بِي.

12 And Y lefte hem aftir the desiris of her herte; thei schulen go in her fyndyngis.

١٢ لِذَلِكَ أَسْلَمْتُهُمْ إِلَى عِنَادِ قُلُوبِهِمْ. وَسَلَكُوا وَفْقاً لِمَشُورَاتِ أَنْفُسِهِمْ.

13 If my puple hadde herde me; if Israel hadde go in my weies.

١٣ لَوْ سَمِعَ لِي شَعْبِي وَسَلَكَ إِسْرَائِيلُ فِي طُرُقِي،

14 For nouyt in hap Y hadde maad low her enemyes; and Y hadde send myn hond on men doynge tribulacioun to hem.

١٤ لَكُنْتُ أَخْضَعْتُ أَعْدَاءَهُمْ سَرِيعاً، وَحَوَّلْتُ يَدِي نَحْوَ خُصُومِهِمْ،

15 The enemyes of the Lord lieden to hym; and her tyme schal be in to worldis.

١٥ وَلَكَانَ مُبْغِضِيَّ يَتَمَلَّقُونَنِي، وَلَطَالَتْ حِقْبَةُ عِقَابِهِمْ إِلَى الأَبَدِ.

16 And he fedde hem of the fatnesse of whete; and he fillide hem with hony of the stoon.

١٦ وَلَكُنْتُ أُطْعِمُ شَعْبِي أَفْخَرَ الْحِنْطَةِ، وَأُشْبِعُهُمْ عَسَلاً مِنَ الصَّخْرَةِ».
