Psalms 79
1 Of Asaph. God, hethene men cam in to thin eritage; thei defouliden thin hooli temple, thei settiden Jerusalem in to the keping of applis.
Un Salmo de Asaf. Dios, las naciones infieles han invadido tu tierra y han profanado tu Santo Templo. Ha convertido a Jerusalén en montañas de escombros.
2 Thei settiden the slayn bodies of thi seruauntis, meetis to the volatilis of heuenes; the fleischis of thi seyntis to the beestis of the erthe.
Han dado los cadáveres de tus siervos a las aves, Señor. La carne de tu pueblo fiel fue dada a las bestias de la tierra.
3 Thei schedden out the blood of hem, as watir in the cumpas of Jerusalem; and noon was that biriede.
Han derramado la sangre del pueblo de Jerusalén como agua en toda la ciudad y no queda nadie que pueda sepultar a los muertos.
4 We ben maad schenschipe to oure neiyboris; mowynge and scornynge to hem, that ben in oure cumpas.
Hemos sido el hazmerreír de nuestros vecinos. Ridiculizados por quienes nos rodean.
5 Lord, hou longe schalt thou be wrooth in to the ende? schal thi veniaunce be kyndelid as fier?
¿Hasta cuándo, Señor? ¿Acaso estarás enojado con nosotros para siempre? ¿Hasta cuándo arderá tu ira?
6 Schede out thin ire in to hethene men, that knowen not thee; and in to rewmes, that clepiden not thi name.
¡Derrama tu ira sobre las naciones infieles que no te conocen, y sobre los reyes que no te adoran!
7 For thei eeten Jacob; and maden desolat his place.
Porque ellos han destruido a los descendientes de Jacob y convirtieron nuestra nación en un desierto.
8 Haue thou not mynde on oure elde wickidnesses; thi mercies bifore take vs soone, for we ben maad pore greetli.
¡No nos hagas pagar por los pecados de nuestros padres! Apresúrate a venir a nosotros porque necesitamos desesperadamente tu compasión.
9 God, oure heelthe, helpe thou vs, and, Lord, for the glorie of thi name delyuer thou vs; and be thou merciful to oure synnes for thi name.
¡Ayúdanos, Dios de nuestra salvación, por tu maravilloso nombre! ¡Sálvanos y perdona nuestros pecados por causa de quien tú eres!
10 Lest perauenture thei seie among hethene men, Where is the God of hem? and be he knowun among naciouns bifore oure iyen. The veniaunce of the blood of thi seruauntis, which is sched out; the weilyng of feterid men entre in thi siyt.
¿Por qué tendrían que preguntarse las naciones dónde está nuestro Dios? Castígalos por derramar la sangre de tus siervos, que permítenos ser testigos de su castigo.
11 Vpe the greetnesse of thin arm; welde thou the sones of slayn men.
Escucha la agonía de los prisioneros, y con tu gran poder salva a los que han sido condenados a la muerte.
12 And yelde thou to oure neiyboris seuenfoold in the bosum of hem; the schenschip of hem, which thei diden schenschipfuli to thee, thou Lord.
Paga a casa uno de nuestros vecinos siete veces por el escarnio y ridículo que te han causado, Señor.
13 But we that ben thi puple, and the scheep of thi leesewe; schulen knouleche to thee in to the world. In generacioun and in to generacioun; we schulen telle thin heriyng.
Entonces seremos tu pueblo, el rebaño de tus pasos, y te alabaremos por siempre. Todas las futuras generaciones te agradecerán.
