Psalms 78
1 The lernyng of Asaph. Mi puple, perseyue ye my lawe; bowe youre eere in to the wordis of my mouth.
૧આસાફનું માસ્કીલ. મારા લોકો, મારો નિયમ સાંભળો, મારા મુખના શબ્દોને તમે ધ્યાનથી સાંભળો.
2 I schal opene my mouth in parablis; Y schal speke perfite resouns fro the bigynnyng.
૨હું ડહાપણ વિશેનું ગીત ગાઈશ; હું ભૂતકાળનાં રહસ્યોની વાત સમજાવીશ કે,
3 Hou grete thingis han we herd, aud we han knowe tho; and oure fadris. telden to vs.
૩જે વાત આપણે સાંભળી છે તથા શીખ્યા છીએ જે આપણા પૂર્વજોએ આપણને કહી છે.
4 Tho ben not hid fro the sones of hem; in anothir generacioun. And thei telden the heriyngis of the Lord, and the vertues of hym; and hise merueilis, whyche he dide.
૪યહોવાહનાં સ્તોત્ર, તેમનું સામર્થ્ય તથા તેમનાં કરેલાં આશ્ચર્યકારક કામો આવતી પેઢીને જાહેર કરીને તેઓના વંશજોથી આપણે તે સંતાડીશું નહિ.
5 And he reiside witnessyng in Jacob; and he settide lawe in Israel. Hou grete thingis comaundide he to oure fadris, to make tho knowun to her sones;
૫કારણ કે તેમણે યાકૂબ સાથે તેમનો કરાર કર્યો અને ઇઝરાયલમાં નિયમ ઠરાવ્યો. તેમણે આપણા પૂર્વજોને આજ્ઞા કરી કે તેઓ પોતાનાં બાળકોને પણ શીખવે.
6 that another generacioun knowe. Sones, that schulen be born, and schulen rise vp; schulen telle out to her sones.
૬જેથી આવતી પેઢીનાં જે બાળકો જન્મે તેઓ તે જાણે, તેઓ મોટાં થઈને પોતાનાં સંતાનોને તે જણાવે, માટે તેમણે આજ્ઞા આપી છે.
7 That thei sette her hope in God, and foryete not the werkis of God; and that thei seke hise comaundementis.
૭જેથી તેઓ સહુ ઈશ્વરની આશા રાખે અને તેમનાં અદ્દભુત કાર્યોને વીસરી જાય નહિ, પણ તેમની આજ્ઞાઓને પાળે.
8 Lest thei be maad a schrewid generacioun; and terrynge to wraththe, as the fadris of hem. A generacioun that dresside not his herte; and his spirit was not bileued with God.
૮પછી તેઓ પોતાના પૂર્વજોના જેવા ન થાય, કે જેઓ હઠીલા તથા બંડખોર પેઢીના છે, એવી પેઢી કે જેઓનાં હૃદય સ્થિર નથી અને જેઓનો આત્મા સમર્પિત કે ઈશ્વરને વિશ્વાસુ નથી.
9 The sones of Effraym, bendinge a bouwe and sendynge arowis; weren turned in the dai of batel.
૯એફ્રાઇમના લોકો શસ્ત્રસજ્જિત ધનુર્ધારી હોવા છતાં પણ લડાઈના દિવસમાં પાછા હઠી ગયા.
10 Thei kepten not the testament of God; and thei nolden go in his lawe.
૧૦તેઓએ ઈશ્વરનો કરાર પાળ્યો નહિ અને તેમના નિયમ પ્રમાણે વર્તવાની ના પાડી.
11 And thei foryaten hise benefices; and hise merueils, whiche he schewide to hem.
૧૧તેમણે કરેલાં અદ્દભુત કાર્યો, ચમત્કારો તેમણે તેઓને બતાવ્યા હતા તે તેઓ ભૂલી ગયા.
12 He dide merueils bifore the fadris of hem in the loond of Egipt; in the feeld of Taphneos.
૧૨મિસર દેશમાં, સોઆનનાં ક્ષેત્રમાં, તેઓના પૂર્વજોની આગળ તેમણે આશ્ચર્યકારક કૃત્યો કર્યાં.
13 He brak the see, and ledde hem thorou; and he ordeynede the watris as in a bouge.
૧૩તેમણે સમુદ્રના બે ભાગ કરીને તેઓને પાર બહાર લાવ્યા; તેમણે દીવાલની જેમ પાણીને સ્થિર રાખ્યાં.
14 And he ledde hem forth in a cloude of the dai; and al niyt in the liytnyng of fier.
૧૪તે તેઓને દિવસે મેઘથી અને આખી રાત અગ્નિના પ્રકાશથી દોરતા.
15 He brak a stoon in deseert; and he yaf watir to hem as in a myche depthe.
૧૫તેમણે અરણ્યમાં ખડકને તોડીને અને ઊંડાણમાંથી વહેતું હોય તેમ પુષ્કળ પાણી તેઓને આપ્યું.
16 And he ledde watir out of the stoon; and he ledde forth watris as floodis.
૧૬તેમણે ખડકમાંથી પાણીની ધારો કાઢી અને વહેતી નદીની જેમ પ્રવાહ વહેવડાવ્યો.
17 And thei `leiden to yit to do synne ayens hym; thei excitiden hiye God in to ire, in a place with out water.
૧૭તેમ છતાં તેઓએ તેમની વિરુદ્ધ પાપ કરવાનું ચાલુ જ રાખ્યું, અરણ્યમાં પરાત્પરની વિરુદ્ધ તેઓ બંડ કરતા રહ્યા.
18 And thei temptiden God in her hertis; that thei axiden meetis to her lyues.
૧૮પોતાના ખાઉધરાપણાને વશ થઈને ખોરાક માગીને તેઓએ પોતાના હૃદયથી ઈશ્વરની પરીક્ષા કરી.
19 And thei spaken yuel of God; thei seiden, Whether God may make redi a bord in desert?
૧૯તેઓ ઈશ્વરની વિરુદ્ધ બોલ્યા; તેઓએ કહ્યું, “શું અરણ્યમાં ઈશ્વર મેજ તૈયાર કરી શકે?
20 For he smoot a stoon, and watris flowiden; and streemys yeden out in aboundaunce. Whether also he may yyue breed; ether make redi a bord to his puple?
૨૦જુઓ, જ્યારે તેમણે ખડકને લાકડી મારી, ત્યારે પાણી વહી આવ્યું અને પાણીનાં ઝરણાં વહેવા માંડ્યાં. પણ શું તે આપણને રોટલી આપી શકે છે? શું તે પોતાના લોકોને માટે માંસ પૂરું પાડી શકશે?”
21 Therfor the Lord herde, and delaiede; and fier was kindelid in Jacob, and the ire of God stiede on Israel.
૨૧જ્યારે યહોવાહે આ સાંભળ્યું, ત્યારે તેઓ ગુસ્સે થયા; તેથી યાકૂબની વિરુદ્ધ તેમનો અગ્નિ ઊઠ્યો અને ઇઝરાયલ પર તેમનો કોપ ભભૂક્યો,
22 For thei bileueden not in God; nether hopiden in his heelthe.
૨૨કારણ કે તેઓએ ઈશ્વર પર વિશ્વાસ કર્યો નહિ અને તેમના દ્વારા મળતા ઉદ્ધાર પર ભરોસો રાખ્યો નહિ.
23 And he comaundide to the cloudis aboue; and he openyde the yatis of heuene.
૨૩છતાં તેમણે વાદળાંને આજ્ઞા આપી અને આકાશના દ્વાર ખોલી નાખ્યાં.
24 And he reynede to hem manna for to eete; and he yaf to hem breed of heuene.
૨૪તેઓના ખોરાક માટે માન્નાની વૃષ્ટિ કરી અને તેમણે સ્વર્ગમાંથી ધાન્ય આપ્યું.
25 Man eet the breed of aungels; he sent to hem meetis in aboundance.
૨૫લોકોએ દૂતોનો ખોરાક ખાધો. અને તેઓ તૃપ્ત થયા ત્યાં સુધી તેમણે ભોજન આપ્યું.
26 He turnede ouere the south wynde fro heuene; and he brouyte in bi his vertu the weste wynde.
૨૬તેમણે આકાશમાં પૂર્વ તરફથી પવન ફુંકાવ્યો અને પોતાના સામર્થ્યથી દક્ષિણ તરફથી પવન ફુંકાવ્યો.
27 And he reynede fleischis as dust on hem; and `he reinede volatils fethered, as the grauel of the see.
૨૭તેમણે ધૂળની જેમ માંસ અને સમુદ્રની રેતીની જેમ પીંછાવાળા પક્ષીઓ તેઓના પર વરસાવ્યાં.
28 And tho felden doun in the myddis of her castels; aboute the tabernaclis of hem.
૨૮તેમણે તેઓની છાવણી મધ્યે અને તેઓના તંબુઓની ચારેબાજુએ તે પાડ્યાં.
29 And thei eeten, and weren fillid greetli, and he brouyte her desire to hem;
૨૯લોકો ધરાઈ રહ્યા ત્યાં સુધી ખાધું. તેઓના માગ્યા પ્રમાણે તેમણે આપ્યું.
30 thei weren not defraudid of her desier. Yit her metis weren in her mouth;
૩૦પણ તેઓ તેમની ભૂખનું નિયંત્રણ કરી શક્યા નહિ; તેઓનો ખોરાક તેઓના મુખમાં જ હતો,
31 and the ire of God stiede on hem. And he killide the fatte men of hem; and he lettide the chosene men of Israel.
૩૧એટલામાં, ઈશ્વરનો કોપ તેઓ પર પ્રગટ્યો અને તેઓમાંના હુષ્ટપુષ્ટોને મારી નાખ્યા. તેમણે ઇઝરાયલના શ્રેષ્ઠ યુવાનોને મારી નાખ્યાં.
32 In alle these thingis thei synneden yit; and bileuede not in the merueils of God.
૩૨આમ છતાં, તેઓ પાપ કરતા રહ્યા અને તેમના ચમત્કારો પર ભરોસો કર્યો નહિ.
33 And the daies of hem failiden in vanytee; and the yeeris of hem faileden with haste.
૩૩માટે ઈશ્વરે તેઓના દિવસો વ્યર્થપણામાં સમાપ્ત કર્યા; અને તેઓનાં વર્ષોને ત્રાસથી ભર્યાં.
34 Whanne he killide hem, thei souyten hym; and turneden ayen, and eerli thei camen to hym.
૩૪જ્યારે જ્યારે ઈશ્વરે તેઓને દુઃખી કર્યા, ત્યારે તેઓએ તેમને શોધ્યા અને તેઓ પાછા ફરીને આતુરતાથી તેમને શરણે આવ્યા.
35 And thei bithouyten, that God is the helper of hem; and `the hiy God is the ayenbier of hem.
૩૫તેઓએ યાદ કર્યુ કે ઈશ્વર તેઓના ખડક છે અને પરાત્પર ઈશ્વર તે જ તેઓના છોડાવનાર છે.
36 And thei loueden hym in her mouth; and with her tunge thei lieden to hym.
૩૬પણ તેઓએ પોતાના મુખે તેમની પ્રશંસા કરી અને પોતાની જીભે તેમની સમક્ષ જૂઠું બોલ્યા.
37 Forsothe the herte of hem was not riytful with hym; nethir thei weren had feithful in his testament.
૩૭કેમ કે તેઓનાં હૃદય તેમના પ્રત્યે વિશ્વાસુ નહોતાં અને તેઓ તેમના કરાર પ્રત્યે વફાદાર નહોતા.
38 But he is merciful, and he schal be maad merciful to the synnes of hem; and he schal not destrie hem. And he dide greetli, to turne awei his yre; and he kyndelide not al his ire.
૩૮તેમ છતાં તેમણે, દયા દર્શાવી, તેઓનાં પાપોની ક્ષમા આપી અને તેઓનો નાશ ન કર્યો. હા, ઘણીવાર તેમણે પોતાનો ક્રોધ સમાવી દીધો અને પોતાનો પૂરો કોપ પ્રગટ કર્યો નહિ.
39 And he bithouyte, that thei ben fleische; a spirit goynge, and not turnynge ayen.
૩૯તેમણે સંભાર્યુ કે તેઓ દેહથી બનેલા છે એક ક્ષણમાં પસાર થતાં વાયુ જેવા છે.
40 Hou oft maden thei hym wrooth in desert; thei stireden hym in to ire in a place with out watir.
૪૦તેઓએ કેટલી વાર અરણ્યમાં તેમની વિરુદ્ધ બંડ કર્યું અને રાનમાં તેમને દુ: ખી કર્યા!
41 And thei weren turned, and temptiden God; and thei wraththiden the hooli of Israel.
૪૧વારંવાર તેઓએ ઈશ્વરની કસોટી કરી અને ઇઝરાયલના પવિત્રને દુ: ખી કર્યા.
42 Thei bithouyten not on his hond; in the dai in the which he ayen bouyte hem fro the hond of the trobler.
૪૨તેઓ તેમનાં મહાન સામર્થ્યનો વિચાર કર્યો નહિ, તેમણે કેવી રીતે તેઓને શત્રુઓથી છોડાવ્યા, તે પણ યાદ કર્યું નહિ.
43 As he settide hise signes in Egipt; and hise grete wondris in the feeld of Taphneos.
૪૩મિસરમાં તેમણે જે ચમત્કારિક ચિહ્નો અને સોઆનના મેદાનમાં આશ્ચર્યકર્મો કર્યા હતાં તે પણ ભૂલી ગયા.
44 And he turnede the flodis of hem and the reynes of hem in to blood; that thei schulden not drynke.
૪૪તેમણે તેઓની નદીઓને તથા તેઓના વહેળાઓને લોહી વહેતાં બનાવી દીધાં જેથી તેઓ તે ઝરણામાંથી પી શકે નહિ.
45 He sente a fleisch flie in to hem, and it eet hem; and he sente a paddok, and it loste hem.
૪૫તેમણે મધમાખીઓનું મોટું ઝૂંડ મોકલ્યું, તે મધમાખીઓ તેઓને કરડી અને દેડકાંઓએ બધી વસ્તુઓનો નાશ કર્યો.
46 And he yaf the fruytis of hem to rust; and he yaf the trauels of hem to locustis.
૪૬તેઓની ફસલ તેમણે કાતરાઓને આપી અને તેઓની મહેનતનું ફળ તીડને આપી દીધું.
47 And he killide the vynes of hem bi hail; and the moore trees of hem bi a frost.
૪૭તેમણે કરાથી તેઓની દ્રાક્ષવાડીઓ અને હિમથી તેઓનાં ગુલ્લરવૃક્ષોનો નાશ કર્યો હતો.
48 And he bitook the beestis of hem to hail; and the possessioun of hem to fier.
૪૮તેમણે તેઓનાં જાનવર કરાને અને તેઓનાં ટોળાં વીજળીને સ્વાધીન કર્યા.
49 He sente in to hem the ire of his indignacioun; indignacioun, and ire, and tribulacioun, sendingis in bi iuel aungels.
૪૯તેમણે પોતાનો કોપ તેઓ પર પ્રગટ કર્યો, તેમણે રોષ, ગુસ્સો અને તિરસ્કાર તેઓની વિરુદ્ધ સંહારક દૂતોની માફક મોકલ્યા.
50 He made weie to the path of his ire, and he sparide not fro the deth of her lyues; and he closide togidere in deth the beestis of hem.
૫૦તેમણે પોતાના કોપ માટે રસ્તો ખુલ્લો કર્યો; તેમણે મરણથી તેઓના પ્રાણ બચાવ્યા નહિ પણ તેઓના પર મરકી મોકલી.
51 And he smoot al the first gendrid thing in the lond of Egipt; the first fruytis of alle the trauel of hem in the tabernaclis of Cham.
૫૧તેમણે મિસરમાં સર્વ પ્રથમજનિતને મારી નાખ્યા; હામના તંબુઓમાં તેઓના પ્રથમ પ્રથમજનિત નરબાળકોને માર્યા.
52 And he took awei his puple as scheep; and he ledde hem forth as a flok in desert.
૫૨તે પોતાના લોકોને ઘેટાંનાં ટોળાંની જેમ બહાર લાવ્યાં અને તેમણે અરણ્યમાં થઈને તેઓને ટોળાંની જેમ દોર્યા.
53 And he ledde hem forth in hope, and thei dredden not; and the see hilide the enemyes of hem.
૫૩તેમણે તેઓને એવા સુરક્ષિત ચલાવ્યા કે તેઓ બીધા નહિ, પણ સમુદ્રના પાણી શત્રુઓ પર ફરી વળ્યાં.
54 And he brouyte hem in to the hil of his halewyng; in to the hil which his riythond gat. And he castide out hethene men fro the face of hem; and bi lot he departide to hem the lond in a cord of delyng.
૫૪અને તેમણે તેઓને તેની પવિત્ર ભૂમિમાં, એટલે તેમને જમણે હાથે ખરીદાયેલા આ પહાડી દેશમાં પોતાના લોકોને લાવ્યા.
55 And he made the lynagis of Israel to dwelle in the tabernaclis of hem.
૫૫તેમણે તેઓની આગળથી વિદેશીઓને કાઢી મૂક્યા અને જમીન માપીને ઇઝરાયલનાં કુળોને વારસાના ભાગ પાડી આપ્યા અને તેમને તેઓના તંબુઓમાં વસાવ્યા.
56 And thei temptiden, and wraththiden heiy God; and thei kepten not hise witnessyngis.
૫૬તોપણ તેઓએ પરાત્પર ઈશ્વરની કસોટી કરવાનું તથા તેમની વિરુદ્ધ બંડ કરવાનું ચાલુ રાખ્યું અને તેમની આજ્ઞાઓ પાળી નહિ.
57 And thei turneden awei hem silf, and thei kepten not couenaunt; as her fadris weren turned in to a schrewid bouwe.
૫૭તેઓ તેમના પૂર્વજોની જેમ પાછા ફરી જઈને અવિશ્વાસુઓની જેમ વર્તવા લાગ્યા; વાંકા ધનુષ્યના બાણની જેમ તેઓ આડે રસ્તે ચઢ્યા.
58 Thei stiriden him in to ire in her litle hillis; and thei terriden hym to indignacioun of her grauen ymagis.
૫૮કેમ કે તેઓએ પોતાનાં ઉચ્ચસ્થાનો બનાવીને અને પોતાની કોરેલી મૂર્તિઓ વડે તેમને ઈર્ષ્યા ઉત્પન્ન કર્યો.
59 God herde, and forsook; and brouyte to nouyt Israel greetli.
૫૯જ્યારે ઈશ્વરે એ સાંભળ્યું, ત્યારે તે ગુસ્સે થયા અને ઇઝરાયલનો પૂરેપૂરો નકાર કર્યો.
60 And he puttide awei the tabernacle of Sylo; his tabernacle where he dwellide among men.
૬૦તેથી તેમણે શીલોહ નગરનો માંડવો એટલે જે તંબુ તેમણે માણસોમાં ઊભો કર્યો હતો, તેનો ત્યાગ કર્યો.
61 And he bitook the vertu of hem in to caitiftee; and the fairnesse of hem in to the hondis of the enemye.
૬૧તેમણે પોતાનું સામર્થ્ય બંધનમાં અને પોતાનું ગૌરવ શત્રુના હાથમાં સોંપ્યા.
62 And he closide togidere his puple in swerd; and he dispiside his erytage.
૬૨તેમણે પોતાના લોકોને તલવારને સ્વાધીન કર્યા અને પોતાના વારસા પર તે કોપાયમાન થયા.
63 Fier eet the yonge men of hem; and the virgyns of hem weren not biweilid.
૬૩તેઓના યુવાનો અગ્નિથી નાશ પામ્યા અને તેઓની કન્યાઓના લગ્નમાં ગીત ગાવામાં આવ્યાં નહિ.
64 The prestis of hem fellen doun bi swerd; and the widewis of hem weren not biwept.
૬૪તેઓના યાજકો તલવારથી માર્યા ગયા અને તેઓની વિધવાઓએ કંઈ રુદન કર્યું નહિ.
65 And the Lord was reisid, as slepynge; as miyti greetli fillid of wiyn.
૬૫જેમ કોઈ ઊંઘમાંથી જાગે, તેમ, દ્રાક્ષારસના કેફથી શૂરવીર પુરુષની જેમ પ્રભુ ઊઠ્યા.
66 And he smoot hise enemyes on the hynderere partis; he yaf to hem euerlastyng schenschipe.
૬૬તેમણે પાછળથી પોતાના શત્રુઓને માર્યા; તેમણે તેઓને સદાને માટે શરમિંદા કર્યા.
67 And he puttide awei the tabernacle of Joseph; and he chees not the lynage of Effraym.
૬૭તેમણે યૂસફના તંબુનો નકાર કર્યો અને એફ્રાઇમના કુળનો સ્વીકાર કર્યો નહિ.
68 But he chees the lynage of Juda; he chees the hil of Syon, which he louede.
૬૮તેમણે યહૂદાના કુળને અને પોતાના પ્રિય સિયોન પર્વતને, પસંદ કર્યા.
69 And he as an vnicorn bildide his hooli place; in the lond, which he foundide in to worldis.
૬૯તેમણે પર્વત જેવું ઉન્નત અને સદા માટે સ્થાપન કરેલી પૃથ્વી જેવું અચળ પોતાનું પવિત્રસ્થાન બાંધ્યું.
70 And he chees Dauid his seruaunt, and took hym vp fro the flockis of scheep; he took hym fro bihynde scheep with lambren.
૭૦તેમણે વાડામાંથી ઘેટાંની સંભાળ રાખનાર દાઉદને પોતાના સેવક તરીકે પસંદ કર્યો.
71 To feed Jacob his seruaunt; and Israel his eritage.
૭૧દૂઝણી ઘેટીઓની પાછળ ફરતો હતો, ત્યાંથી તેમના લોકો યાકૂબના સંતાનનું તથા તેમના વારસા ઇઝરાયલનું પાલન કરવા તે તેને લાવ્યા.
72 And he fedde hem in the innocens of his herte; and he ledde hem forth in the vndurstondyngis of his hondis.
૭૨દાઉદે તેમને શુદ્ધ હૃદયથી અને કૌશલ્યસભર શાણપણથી દોર્યા.
