Psalms 75

1 `To the ouercomere; leese thou not the salm of the song of Asaph. God, we schulen knouleche to thee, `we schulen knouleche; and we schulen inwardli clepe thi name.

För sångmästaren; "Fördärva icke"; en psalm, en sång av Asaf. Vi tacka dig, o Gud, vi tacka dig. Ditt namn är oss nära; man förtäljer dina under.

2 We schulen telle thi merueilis; whanne Y schal take tyme, Y schal deme riytfulnesses.

"Om jag än bidar min tid, så dömer jag dock rätt.

3 The erthe is meltid, and alle that duellen ther ynne; Y confermede the pileris therof.

Om än jorden är i upplösning med alla som bo därpå, så håller dock jag dess pelare stadiga." (Sela)

4 I seide to wickid men, Nyle ye do wickidli; and to trespassouris, Nyle ye enhaunce the horn.

Jag säger till de övermodiga: "Varen icke övermodiga", och till de ogudaktiga: "Upphöjen ej hornet."

5 Nyle ye reise an hiy youre horn; nyle ye speke wickidnesse ayens God.

Ja, upphöjen icke så högt edert horn, talen ej så hårdnackat vad fräckt är.

6 For nether fro the eest, nethir fro the west, nethir fro desert hillis; for God is the iuge.

Ty icke från öster eller väster, ej heller från bergsöknen kommer hjälpen;

7 He mekith this man, and enhaunsith hym; for a cuppe of cleene wyn ful of meddling is in the hoond of the Lord.

nej, Gud är den som dömer; den ene ödmjukar han, den andre upphöjer han.

8 And he bowide of this in to that; netheles the drast therof is not anyntischid; alle synneris of erthe schulen drinke therof.

Ty en kalk är i HERRENS hand, den skummar av vin och är full av tillblandad dryck, och han skänker i därav; sannerligen, alla ogudaktiga på jorden måste dricka dess drägg i botten.

9 Forsothe Y schal telle in to the world; Y schal synge to God of Jacob.

Men jag skall förkunna det evinnerligen, jag skall lovsjunga Jakobs Gud.

10 And Y schal breke alle the hornes of synneris; and the hornes of the iust man schulen be enhaunsid.

Och de ogudaktigas alla horn skall jag få hugga av; men den rättfärdiges horn skola varda upphöjda.
