< Psalms 75 >
1 `To the ouercomere; leese thou not the salm of the song of Asaph. God, we schulen knouleche to thee, `we schulen knouleche; and we schulen inwardli clepe thi name.
To the choirmaster al-tashcheth a psalm of Asaph a song. We give thanks to you - O God we give thanks and [is] near name your people recount wonders your.
2 We schulen telle thi merueilis; whanne Y schal take tyme, Y schal deme riytfulnesses.
If I will take an appointed time I uprightness I will judge.
3 The erthe is meltid, and alle that duellen ther ynne; Y confermede the pileris therof.
[are] melting away [the] earth And all inhabitants its I I put in order pillars its (Selah)
4 I seide to wickid men, Nyle ye do wickidli; and to trespassouris, Nyle ye enhaunce the horn.
I say to the boasters may not you boast and to the wicked [people] may not you lift up a horn.
5 Nyle ye reise an hiy youre horn; nyle ye speke wickidnesse ayens God.
May not you lift up to the height horn your may you speak with a neck arrogance.
6 For nether fro the eest, nethir fro the west, nethir fro desert hillis; for God is the iuge.
For not [is] from [the] going out and from [the] setting place and not from [the] wilderness exaltation.
7 He mekith this man, and enhaunsith hym; for a cuppe of cleene wyn ful of meddling is in the hoond of the Lord.
For God [is the] judge this one he brings low and this one he lifts up.
8 And he bowide of this in to that; netheles the drast therof is not anyntischid; alle synneris of erthe schulen drinke therof.
For a cup [is] in [the] hand of Yahweh and wine it is foaming - full spiced drink and he has poured out some of this surely dregs its they will drain they will drink all [the] wicked [people] of [the] earth.
9 Forsothe Y schal telle in to the world; Y schal synge to God of Jacob.
And I I will declare for ever I will sing praises to [the] God of Jacob.
10 And Y schal breke alle the hornes of synneris; and the hornes of the iust man schulen be enhaunsid.
And all [the] horns of wicked [people] I will cut off they will be lifted up [the] horns of [the] righteous.
