< Psalms 70 >
1 To the victorie `of Dauid, `to haue mynde. God, biholde thou in to myn heelp; Lord, hast thou to helpe me.
For the Leader. A Psalm of David; to make memorial. O God, to deliver me, O LORD, to help me, make haste.
2 Be thei schent, and aschamed; that seken my lijf. Be thei turned a bak; and schame thei, that wolen yuels to me.
Let them be ashamed and abashed that seek after my soul; let them be turned backward and brought to confusion that delight in my hurt.
3 Be thei turned awei anoon, and schame thei; that seien to me, Wel! wel!
Let them be turned back by reason of their shame that say: 'Aha, aha.'
4 Alle men that seken thee, make fulli ioie, and be glad in thee; and thei that louen thin heelthe, seie euere, The Lord be magnyfied.
Let all those that seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee; and let such as love Thy salvation say continually: 'Let God be magnified.'
5 Forsothe Y am a nedi man, and pore; God, helpe thou me. Thou art myn helper and my delyuerere; Lord, tarye thou not.
But I am poor and needy; O God, make haste unto me; Thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, tarry not.
