< Psalms 70 >

1 To the victorie `of Dauid, `to haue mynde. God, biholde thou in to myn heelp; Lord, hast thou to helpe me.
Unto the end. A Psalm of David, in remembrance that the Lord had saved him. O God, reach out to help me. O Lord, hasten to assist me.
2 Be thei schent, and aschamed; that seken my lijf. Be thei turned a bak; and schame thei, that wolen yuels to me.
May those who seek my soul be confounded and awed.
3 Be thei turned awei anoon, and schame thei; that seien to me, Wel! wel!
May those who wish evils upon me be turned back and blush with shame. May they be turned away immediately, blushing with shame, who say to me: “Well, well.”
4 Alle men that seken thee, make fulli ioie, and be glad in thee; and thei that louen thin heelthe, seie euere, The Lord be magnyfied.
Let all who seek you exult and rejoice in you, and let those who love your salvation forever say: “The Lord be magnified.”
5 Forsothe Y am a nedi man, and pore; God, helpe thou me. Thou art myn helper and my delyuerere; Lord, tarye thou not.
I am truly destitute and poor. O God, assist me. You are my helper and my deliverer. O Lord, do not delay.
