< Psalms 59 >
1 `In Jeroms translacioun thus, To the ouercomer, that thou lese not Dauid, meke and simple, `whanne Saul sente and kepte the hous, to slee hym. `In Ebreu thus, To the ouercomyng, leese thou not the semeli song of Dauid, and so forth. Mi God, delyuer thou me fro myn enemyes; and delyuer thou me fro hem that risen ayens me.
To the choirmaster al-tashcheth of David a miktam when sent Saul and people watched the house to kill him. Deliver me from enemies my - O God my from [those who] rise up against me may you set on high me.
2 Delyuer thou me fro hem that worchen wickidnesse; and saue thou me fro menquelleris.
Deliver me from [those who] do wickedness and from men of blood save me.
3 For lo! thei han take my soule; stronge men fellen in on me.
For here! they lie in wait for life my they stir up trouble on me fierce [people] not transgression my and not sin my O Yahweh.
4 Nethir my wickidnesse, nether my synne; Lord, Y ran with out wickidnesse, and dresside `my werkis.
Not iniquity they run! and they may be established awake! to meet me and see.
5 Rise vp thou in to my meetyng, and se; and thou, Lord God of vertues, art God of Israel. Yyue thou tent to visite alle folkis; do thou not merci to alle that worchen wickidnesse.
And you O Yahweh God of - hosts [the] God of Israel awake! to punish all the nations may not you show favor to all [those who] act treacherously of wickedness (Selah)
6 Thei schulen be turned at euentid, and thei as doggis schulen suffre hungir; and thei schulen cumpas the citee.
They return to evening they growl like dog so they may go around [the] city.
7 Lo! thei schulen speke in her mouth, and a swerd in her lippis; for who herde?
Here! - they pour forth! with mouth their swords [are] on lips their for who? [is] hearing.
8 And thou, Lord, schalt scorne hem; thou schalt bringe alle folkis to nouyt.
And you O Yahweh you laugh to them you mock all [the] nations.
9 I schal kepe my strengthe to thee;
Strength his to you I will watch for God [is] refuge my.
10 for God is myn vptaker, my God, his mercy schal come byfore me.
[the] God of (Covenant loyalty my *Q(K)*) he will meet me God he will let look me on enemies my.
11 God schewide to me on myn enemyes, slee thou not hem; lest ony tyme my puples foryete. Scatere thou hem in thi vertu; and, Lord, my defender, putte thou hem doun.
May not you kill them - lest they should forget people my make wander about them by strength your and bring down them O shield our O Lord.
12 Putte thou doun the trespas of her mouth, and the word of her lippis; and be thei takun in her pride. And of cursyng and of leesyng; thei schulen be schewid in the endyng.
[the] sin of Mouth their [the] word of lips their and let them be caught in pride their and from a curse and from lying [which] they speak.
13 In the ire of ending, and thei schulen not be; and thei schulen wite, that the Lord schal be Lord of Jacob, and of the endis of erthe.
Make an end in anger make an end and there not [will be] them so they may know that God [is] ruling over Jacob to [the] ends of the earth (Selah)
14 Thei schulen be turned at euentid, and thei as doggis schulen suffre hungur; and thei schulen cumpas the citee.
So they may return to evening they growl like dog so they may go around [the] city.
15 Thei schulen be scaterid abrood, for to eete; sotheli if thei ben not fillid, and thei schulen grutche.
They (they make wander about! *Q(K)*) to eat if not they are satisfied and they passed [the] night.
16 But Y schal synge thi strengthe; and eerli Y schal enhaunse thi merci. For thou art maad myn vptaker; and my refuyt, in the dai of my tribulacioun.
And I - I will sing strength your so I may sing for joy to the morning covenant loyalty your for you have been a refuge of me and a place of escape on [the] day [when] it is distress to me.
17 Myn helper, Y schal synge to thee; for thou art God, myn vptaker, my God, my mercy.
O strength my to you I will sing praises for God [is] refuge my [the] God of covenant loyalty my.
