Psalms 46
1 To the ouercomere, the song of the sones `of Chore, `for yongthis. Oure God, thou art refuyt, and vertu; helpere in tribulacions, that han founde vs greetly.
Au maître-chantre. — Des enfants de Coré. — Cantique pour voix de jeunes filles. Dieu est pour nous un refuge, un rempart. Un secours dans nos détresses: On trouve aisément accès auprès de lui.
2 Therfor we schulen not drede, while the erthe schal be troblid; and the hillis schulen be borun ouer in to the herte of the see.
C'est pourquoi nous ne craindrons rien, Quand même la terre serait bouleversée, Et que les montagnes seraient ébranlées au sein de la mer,
3 The watris of hem sowneden, and weren troblid; hillis weren troblid togidere in the strengthe of hym.
Quand même les flots mugiraient en bouillonnant. Et que leur furie ferait trembler les montagnes. (Pause)
4 The feersnesse of flood makith glad the citee of God; the hiyeste God hath halewid his tabernacle.
Il est un fleuve, dont les flots réjouissent la cité de Dieu, Le sanctuaire de la Demeure du Très-Haut.
5 God in the myddis therof schal not be moued; God schal helpe it eerli in the grey morewtid.
Dieu est au milieu d'elle: elle ne sera point ébranlée. Dieu lui donne son secours dès l'aube du matin.
6 Hethene men weren disturblid togidere, and rewmes weren bowid doun; God yaf his vois, the erthe was moued.
Les nations s'agitent, les nations s'ébranlent: Il fait entendre sa voix, et la terre tremble.
7 The Lord of vertues is with vs; God of Jacob is oure vptakere.
L'Éternel des armées est avec nous; Le Dieu de Jacob est notre haute retraite. (Pause)
8 Come ye, and se the werkis of the Lord; whiche wondris he hath set on the erthe.
Venez, contemplez les oeuvres de l'Éternel, Les étonnants prodiges qu'il accomplit sur la terre.
9 He doynge awei batels til to the ende of the lond; schal al to-brese bouwe, and schal breke togidere armuris, and schal brenne scheldis bi fier.
Il fait cesser les combats jusqu'aux extrémités du monde; Il rompt les arcs et brise les lances; Il brûle les chars au feu.
10 Yyue ye tent, and se ye, that Y am God; Y schal be enhaunsid among hethene men; and Y schal be enhaunsid in erthe.
«Arrêtez, dit-il, et sachez que c'est moi qui suis Dieu. Je domine sur les nations, je domine sur la terre!»
