Psalms 45
1 To the ouercomere for the lilies, the most loued song of lernyng of the sones of Chore. Myn herte hath teld out a good word; Y seie my workis `to the kyng. Mi tunge is `a penne of a writere; writynge swiftli.
Au chef de musique. Sur Shoshannim. Des fils de Coré. Instruction. Un cantique du bien-aimé. Mon cœur bouillonne d’une bonne parole; je dis ce que j’ai composé au sujet du roi; ma langue est le style d’un écrivain habile.
2 Crist, thou art fairer in schap than the sones of men; grace is spred abrood in thi lippis; therfor God blessid thee withouten ende.
Tu es plus beau que les fils des hommes; la grâce est répandue sur tes lèvres: c’est pourquoi Dieu t’a béni à toujours.
3 Be thou gird with thi swerd; on thi hipe most myytili.
Ceins ton épée sur ton côté, homme vaillant, [dans] ta majesté et ta magnificence;
4 Biholde thou in thi schaplynesse and thi fairnesse; come thou forth with prosperite, and regne thou. For treuthe, and myldenesse, and riytfulnesse; and thi riyt hond schal lede forth thee wondurfuli.
Et, prospérant dans ta magnificence, mène en avant ton char, à cause de la vérité et de la débonnaireté [et] de la justice; et ta droite t’enseignera des choses terribles.
5 Thi scharpe arowis schulen falle in to the hertis of the enemyes of the kyng; puplis schulen be vndur thee.
Tes flèches sont aiguës, – les peuples tomberont sous toi, – dans le cœur des ennemis du roi.
6 God, thi seete is in to the world of world; the yerde of thi rewme is a yerde of riyt reulyng, `ethir of equite.
Ton trône, ô Dieu, est pour toujours et à perpétuité; c’est un sceptre de droiture que le sceptre de ton règne.
7 Thou louedist riytfulnesse, and hatidist wickidnesse; therfor thou, God, thi God, anoyntide thee with the oile of gladnesse, more than thi felowis.
Tu as aimé la justice, et tu as haï la méchanceté; c’est pourquoi Dieu, ton Dieu, t’a oint d’une huile de joie au-dessus de tes compagnons.
8 Mirre, and gumme, and cassia, of thi clothis, of the `housis yuer;
Tous tes vêtements sont myrrhe, aloès, et casse, [quand tu sors] des palais d’ivoire d’où ils t’ont réjoui.
9 of whiche the douytris of kyngis delitiden thee. A queen stood nyy on thi riyt side in clothing ouergildid; cumpassid with dyuersitee.
Des filles de rois ont été parmi tes dames d’honneur; la reine est à ta droite, parée d’or d’Ophir.
10 Douyter, here thou, and se, and bowe doun thin eere; and foryete thi puple, and the hows of thi fadir.
Écoute, fille! et vois, et incline ton oreille; et oublie ton peuple et la maison de ton père;
11 And the kyng schal coueyte thi fairnesse; for he is thi Lord God, and thei schulen worschipe hym.
Et le roi désirera ta beauté, car il est ton seigneur: adore-le.
12 And the douytris of Tire in yiftis; alle the riche men of the puple schulen biseche thi cheer.
Et avec une offrande, la fille de Tyr, les plus riches du peuple rechercheront ta faveur.
13 Al the glorye of that douyter of the kyng is with ynne in goldun hemmes;
La fille du roi est tout gloire, dans l’intérieur [du palais]; son vêtement est de broderies d’or.
14 sche is clothid aboute with dyuersitees. Virgyns schulen be brouyt to the kyng aftir hir; hir neiyboressis schulen be brouyt to thee.
Elle sera amenée au roi en vêtements de brocart; des vierges qui la suivent, ses compagnes, te seront amenées;
15 Thei schulen be brouyt in gladnesse, and ful out ioiyng; thei schulen be brouyt in to the temple of the kyng.
Elles te seront amenées avec joie et allégresse, elles entreront dans le palais du roi.
16 Sones ben borun to thee, for thi fadris; thou schalt ordeyne hem princes on al erthe.
Au lieu de tes pères, tu auras tes fils; tu les établiras pour princes dans tout le pays.
17 Lord, thei schulen be myndeful of thi name; in ech generacioun, and in to generacioun. Therfor puplis schulen knouleche to thee withouten ende; and in to the world of world.
Je rappellerai ton nom dans toutes les générations; c’est pourquoi les peuples te célébreront à toujours et à perpétuité.
