Psalms 39
1 For victorie, to Iditum, the song of Dauid. I seide, Y schal kepe my weies; that Y trespasse not in my tunge. I settide kepyng to my mouth; whanne a synnere stood ayens me.
૧મુખ્ય ગવૈયા યદૂથૂન માટે. દાઉદનું ગીત. મેં નક્કી કર્યું કે, “હું જે કહું છું, તે હું ધ્યાન રાખીશ કે જેથી હું મારી જીભે પાપ ન કરું. જ્યાં સુધી દુષ્ટો મારી આસપાસ હશે, ત્યાં સુધી હું મારા મોં પર લગામ રાખીશ.
2 I was doumb, and was mekid ful gretli, and was stille fro goodis; and my sorewe was renulid.
૨હું શાંત રહ્યો; સત્ય બોલવાથી પણ હું છાનો રહ્યો અને મારો શોક વધી ગયો.
3 Myn herte was hoot with ynne me; and fier schal brenne out in my thenkyng.
૩મારું હૃદય મારામાં તપી ગયું; જ્યારે મેં આ બાબતો વિષે વિચાર કર્યો, ત્યારે વિચારોનો અગ્નિ સળગી ઊઠ્યો. પછી અંતે હું બોલ્યો કે,
4 I spak in my tunge; Lord, make thou myn eende knowun to me. And the noumbre of my daies what it is; that Y wite, what failith to me.
૪“હે યહોવાહ, મને જણાવો કે મારું આયુષ્ય કેટલું છે? અને મારા આયુષ્યના દિવસો કેટલા છે, તે મને જણાવો. હું કેવો ક્ષણભંગુર છું, તે મને સમજાવો.
5 Lo! thou hast set my daies mesurable; and my substaunce is as nouyt bifor thee. Netheles al vanytee; ech man lyuynge.
૫જુઓ, તમે મારા દિવસો મુઠ્ઠીભર કર્યા છે અને મારું આયુષ્ય તમારી આગળ કંઈ જ નથી. ચોક્કસ દરેક માણસ વ્યર્થ છે.
6 Netheles a man passith in ymage; but also he is disturblid veynli. He tresorith; and he noot, to whom he `schal gadere tho thingis.
૬નિશ્ચે દરેક માણસ આભાસરૂપે હાલેચાલે છે. નિશ્ચે દરેક જણ મિથ્યા ગભરાય છે તે સંગ્રહ કરે છે પણ તે કોણ ભોગવશે એ તે જાણતો નથી.
7 And now which is myn abiding? whether not the Lord? and my substaunce is at thee.
૭હવે, હે પ્રભુ, હું શાની રાહ જોઉં? તમે જ મારી આશા છો.
8 Delyuere thou me fro alle my wickidnessis; thou hast youe me schenschip to the vnkunnynge.
૮મારા સર્વ અપરાધો પર મને વિજય અપાવો: મૂર્ખો મારી મશ્કરી કરે, એવું થવા ન દો.
9 I was doumbe, and openyde not my mouth; for thou hast maad,
૯હું ચૂપ રહ્યો છું અને મેં મારું મુખ ઉઘાડ્યું નથી કેમ કે તમે જે કર્યુ છે એ હું જાણું છું.
10 remoue thou thi woundis fro me.
૧૦હવે મને વધુ શિક્ષા ન કરશો, તમારા પ્રબળ હાથના પ્રહારે હું નિશ્ચે નષ્ટ જેવો જ થઈ ગયો છું.
11 Fro the strengthe of thin hond Y failide in blamyngis; for wickidnesse thou hast chastisid man. And thou madist his lijf to faile as an yreyne; netheles ech man is disturblid in veyn.
૧૧જ્યારે તમે લોકોને તેઓનાં પાપોને કારણે શિક્ષા કરો છો, ત્યારે તમે તેની સુંદરતાનો પતંગિયાની જેમ નાશ કરી દો છો; નિશ્ચે દરેક લોકો કંઈ જ નથી પણ વ્યર્થ છે.
12 Lord, here thou my preier and my bisechyng; perseyue thou with eeris my teeris.
૧૨હે યહોવાહ, મારી પ્રાર્થના સાંભળો; મારી વિનંતિ કાને ધરો; મારાં આંસુ જોઈને! શાંત બેસી ન રહો, કેમ કે હું તમારી સાથે વિદેશી જેવો છું, મારા સર્વ પૂર્વજોની જેમ હું પણ મુસાફર છું.
13 Be thou not stille, for Y am a comelyng at thee; and a pilgrime, as alle my fadris. Foryyue thou to me, that Y be refreischid, bifor that Y go; and Y schal no more be.
૧૩હું મૃત્યુ પામું તે અગાઉ, તમારી કરડી નજર મારા પરથી દૂર કરો કે જેથી હું ફરીથી હર્ષ પામું.
