Psalms 35
1 `To Dauid. Lord, deme thou hem, that anoien me; ouercome thou hem, that fiyten ayens me.
De David. Seigneur, juge ceux qui me nuisent; combats ceux qui me font la guerre.
2 Take thou armeris and scheeld; and rise vp into help to me.
Prends tes armes et ton bouclier; lève-toi à mon aide.
3 Schede out the swerd, and close togidere ayens hem that pursuen me; seie thou to my soule, Y am thin helthe.
Tire le glaive et ferme la voie à ceux qui me poursuivent; dis à mon âme: Je suis ton salut.
4 Thei that seken my lijf; be schent, and aschamed. Thei that thenken yuels to me; be turned awei bacward, and be schent.
Que ceux qui en veulent à ma vie soient confondus et frappés de crainte; que ceux qui pensent à mal contre moi soient confondus et mis en fuite.
5 Be thei maad as dust bifor the face of the wynd; and the aungel of the Lord make hem streit.
Qu'ils soient comme la poussière devant la face des vents; que l'ange du Seigneur les arrête.
6 Her weie be maad derknesse, and slydirnesse; and the aungel of the Lord pursue hem.
Que leur voie soit ténébreuse et glissante; que l'ange du Seigneur les poursuive.
7 For with out cause thei hidden to me the deth of her snare; in veyn thei dispisiden my soule.
Parce que sans motif ils ont caché pour moi la mort dans un piège, et que sans motif ils ont fait des outrages à mon âme:
8 The snare which he knoweth not come to hym, and the takyng which he hidde take hym; and fall he in to the snare in that thing.
Qu'un filet inconnu tombe sur eux; que les lacs qu'ils ont cachés les prennent; qu'ils trébuchent dans leurs propres pièges.
9 But my soule schal fulli haue ioye in the Lord; and schal delite on his helthe.
Et mon âme mettra sa joie dans le Seigneur; elle se délectera dans son salut.
10 Alle my boonys schulen seie, Lord, who is lijk thee? Thou delyuerist a pore man fro the hond of his strengere; a nedi man and pore fro hem that diuersely rauischen hym.
Tous mes os diront: Seigneur qui est semblable à toi? Tu sauves l'indigent de mains plus fortes que lui; tu protèges le mendiant et le pauvre contre ceux qui le pillent.
11 Wickid witnessis risynge axiden me thingis, whiche Y knewe not.
De faux témoins se sont levés, et ils m'ont questionné sur ce que je ne savais pas.
12 Thei yeldiden to me yuels for goodis; bareynnesse to my soule.
Ils me rendaient le mal pour le bien; ils ont desséché ma vie.
13 But whanne thei weren diseseful to me; Y was clothid in an heire. I mekide my soule in fastyng; and my preier schal be turned `with ynne my bosum.
Et moi, tandis qu'ils me tourmentaient, je me suis couvert d'un cilice; j'ai mortifié mon âme par le jeûne, et ma prière retournera en mon sein.
14 I pleside so as oure neiybore, as oure brother; Y was `maad meke so as morenynge and sorewful.
Je me complaisais en eux comme en un ami ou en mon frère; je m'étais humilié comme si j'eusse été dans le deuil et la tristesse.
15 And thei weren glad, and camen togidere ayens me; turmentis weren gaderid on me, and Y knew not.
Et ils se réjouissaient contre moi, et ils s'assemblaient et réunissaient leurs forces contre moi, et je n'en savais rien; ils ont été dissipés, mais non contrits;
16 Thei weren scaterid, and not compunct, thei temptiden me, thei scornyden me with mowyng; thei gnastiden on me with her teeth.
Ils m'ont tenté; ils ont ricané avec grand mépris; ils ont grincé des dents sur moi.
17 Lord, whanne thou schalt biholde, restore thou my soule fro the wickidnesse of hem; `restore thou myn oon aloone fro liouns.
Seigneur, quand regarderas-tu vers moi? Sauve mon âme de leur malice; délivre des lions mon âme abandonnée.
18 I schal knowleche to thee in a greet chirche; Y schal herie thee in a sad puple.
Je te rendrai gloire en une église nombreuse; je te louerai au milieu d'un grand peuple.
19 Thei that ben aduersaries wickidli to me, haue not ioye on me; that haten me with out cause, and bikenen with iyen.
Que ne je vois point la joie de ceux qui m'attaquent injustement, qui me haïssent sans raison et me regardent d'un œil méprisant.
20 For sotheli thei spaken pesibli to me; and thei spekynge in wrathfulnesse of erthe thouyten giles.
Ils m'ont parlé pacifiquement; mais dans leur colère ils songeaient à me tromper.
21 And thei maden large her mouth on me; thei seiden, Wel, wel! oure iyen han sien.
Ils ont dilaté contre moi leur bouche, et ils ont dit: Bien, bien, nos yeux ont vu.
22 Lord, thou hast seen, be thou not stille; Lord, departe thou not fro me.
Toi aussi, Seigneur, tu as vu; ne gardez pas le silence, Seigneur; ne t'éloigne pas de moi.
23 Rise vp, and yyue tent to my doom; my God and my Lord, biholde in to my cause.
Lève-toi, Seigneur, applique-toi à mon jugement; mon Seigneur et mon Dieu, sois attentif à ma cause.
24 Mi Lord God, deme thou me bi thi riytfulnesse; and haue thei not ioye on me.
Juge-moi, Seigneur, selon ta justice, mon Seigneur et mon Dieu, et qu'ils ne fassent pas de moi leur joie;
25 Seie thei not in her hertis, Wel, wel, to oure soule; nether seie thei, We schulen deuoure hym.
Qu'ils ne disent point en leur cœur: Bien, cela plaît à notre âme; qu'ils ne disent point: Nous l'avons dévoré.
26 Shame thei, and drede thei togidere; that thanken for myn yuels. Be thei clothid with schame and drede; that speken yuele thingis on me.
Que ceux qui se sont réjouis de mes maux soient confondus et honteux; que ceux qui ont parlé contre moi en se gonflant d'orgueil, soient enveloppés de crainte et de confusion.
27 Haue thei ful ioie, and be thei glad that wolen my riytfulnesse; and seie thei euere, The Lord be magnyfied, whiche wolen the pees of his seruaunt.
Que ceux qui veulent ma justification soient dans la joie; qu'ils tressaillent d'allégresse; qu'ils ne cessent de dire: Dieu soit glorifié, et ceux qui désirent la paix de son serviteur.
28 And my tunge schal bithenke thi riytfulnesse; al day thin heriyng.
Et ma langue célébrera ta justice; elle chantera chaque jour tes louanges.
