Psalms 33
1 Ye iust men, haue fulli ioye in the Lord; presyng togidere bicometh riytful men.
Alegre-se em Yahweh, você é justo! O elogio é apropriado para os verticalmente corretos.
2 Knouleche ye to the Lord in an harpe; synge ye to hym in a sautre of ten strengis.
Agradeça a Yahweh com a lira. Canta-lhe louvores com a harpa de dez cordas.
3 Synge ye to hym a newe song; seie ye wel salm to hym in criyng.
Cante para ele uma nova canção. Jogue habilidosamente com um grito de alegria!
4 For the word of the Lord is riytful; and alle hise werkis ben in feithfulnesse.
Pois a palavra de Yahweh está certa. Todo o seu trabalho é feito com fidelidade.
5 He loueth merci and doom; the erthe is ful of the merci of the Lord.
Ele ama a retidão e a justiça. A terra está cheia da bondade amorosa de Yahweh.
6 Heuenes ben maad stidfast bi the word of the Lord; and `al the vertu of tho bi the spirit of his mouth.
Pela palavra de Yahweh, os céus foram feitos: todo seu exército pelo sopro de sua boca.
7 And he gaderith togidere the watris of the see as in a bowge; and settith depe watris in tresours.
Ele reúne as águas do mar como um amontoado. Ele coloca as profundezas em armazéns.
8 Al erthe drede the Lord; sotheli alle men enhabitynge the world ben mouyd of hym.
Let toda a terra teme Yahweh. Que todos os habitantes do mundo fiquem admirados com ele.
9 For he seide, and thingis weren maad; he comaundide, and thingis weren maad of nouyt.
Pois ele falou, e isso foi feito. Ele comandou, e se manteve firme.
10 The Lord distrieth the counsels of folkis, forsothe he repreueth the thouytis of puplis; and he repreueth the counsels of prynces.
Yahweh leva os conselhos das nações a nada. Ele faz com que os pensamentos dos povos não tenham qualquer efeito.
11 But the counsel of the Lord dwellith with outen ende; the thouytis of his herte dwellen in generacioun and into generacioun.
O conselho de Yahweh mantém-se firme para sempre, os pensamentos de seu coração para todas as gerações.
12 Blessid is the folk, whose Lord is his God; the puple which he chees into eritage to hym silf.
Bendita é a nação cujo Deus é Yahweh, as pessoas que ele escolheu para sua própria herança.
13 The Lord bihelde fro heuene; he siy alle the sones of men.
Yahweh olha do céu. Ele vê todos os filhos dos homens.
14 Fro his dwellyng place maad redi bifor; he bihelde on alle men, that enhabiten the erthe.
Do lugar de sua moradia ele olha para todos os habitantes da terra,
15 Which made syngulerli the soules of hem; which vndurstondith all the werkis of hem.
aquele que modela todos os seus corações; e ele considera todas as suas obras.
16 A kyng is not sauyd bi myche vertu; and a giaunt schal not be sauyd in the mychilnesse of his vertu.
Não há rei salvo pela multidão de um exército. Um homem poderoso não é entregue por uma grande força.
17 An hors is false to helthe; forsothe he schal not be sauyd in the habundaunce, `ether plentee, of his vertu.
Um cavalo é uma coisa vaidosa para a segurança, nem ele entrega nenhum por seu grande poder.
18 Lo! the iyen of the Lord ben on men dredynge hym; and in hem that hopen on his merci.
Eis que o olho de Javé está voltado para aqueles que o temem, sobre aqueles que esperam em sua bondade amorosa,
19 That he delyuere her soules fro deth; and feede hem in hungur.
para entregar sua alma da morte, para mantê-los vivos na fome.
20 Oure soule suffreth the Lord; for he is oure helpere and defendere.
Nossa alma esperou por Yahweh. Ele é nossa ajuda e nosso escudo.
21 For oure herte schal be glad in him; and we schulen haue hope in his hooli name.
Pois nosso coração se regozija com ele, porque temos confiado em seu santo nome.
22 Lord, thi merci be maad on vs; as we hopiden in thee.
Deixe que sua bondade amorosa esteja sobre nós, Yahweh, já que temos esperança em você.
