Psalms 33
1 Ye iust men, haue fulli ioye in the Lord; presyng togidere bicometh riytful men.
Regozijai-vos no Senhor, vós, justos, pois aos retos convém o louvor.
2 Knouleche ye to the Lord in an harpe; synge ye to hym in a sautre of ten strengis.
Louvai ao Senhor com harpa, cantai a ele com saltério de dez cordas.
3 Synge ye to hym a newe song; seie ye wel salm to hym in criyng.
Cantai-lhe um cântico novo: tocai bem e com júbilo.
4 For the word of the Lord is riytful; and alle hise werkis ben in feithfulnesse.
Porque a palavra do Senhor é reta, e todas as suas obras são fieis.
5 He loueth merci and doom; the erthe is ful of the merci of the Lord.
Ele ama a justiça e o juízo: a terra está cheia da bondade do Senhor.
6 Heuenes ben maad stidfast bi the word of the Lord; and `al the vertu of tho bi the spirit of his mouth.
Pela palavra do Senhor foram feitos os céus, e todo o exército deles pelo espírito da sua boca.
7 And he gaderith togidere the watris of the see as in a bowge; and settith depe watris in tresours.
Ele ajunta as águas do mar como num montão; põe os abismos em tesouros.
8 Al erthe drede the Lord; sotheli alle men enhabitynge the world ben mouyd of hym.
Tema toda a terra ao Senhor; temam-no todos os moradores do mundo.
9 For he seide, and thingis weren maad; he comaundide, and thingis weren maad of nouyt.
Porque falou, e foi feito: mandou, e logo apareceu.
10 The Lord distrieth the counsels of folkis, forsothe he repreueth the thouytis of puplis; and he repreueth the counsels of prynces.
O Senhor desfaz o conselho das nações, quebranta os intentos dos povos.
11 But the counsel of the Lord dwellith with outen ende; the thouytis of his herte dwellen in generacioun and into generacioun.
O conselho do Senhor permanece para sempre: os intentos do seu coração de geração em geração.
12 Blessid is the folk, whose Lord is his God; the puple which he chees into eritage to hym silf.
Benaventurada é a nação cujo Deus é o Senhor, e o povo ao qual escolheu para sua herança.
13 The Lord bihelde fro heuene; he siy alle the sones of men.
O Senhor olha desde os céus e está vendo a todos os filhos dos homens.
14 Fro his dwellyng place maad redi bifor; he bihelde on alle men, that enhabiten the erthe.
Do lugar da sua habitação contempla todos os moradores da terra,
15 Which made syngulerli the soules of hem; which vndurstondith all the werkis of hem.
Aquele que forma o coração de todos eles, que contempla todas as suas obras.
16 A kyng is not sauyd bi myche vertu; and a giaunt schal not be sauyd in the mychilnesse of his vertu.
Não há rei que se salve com a grandeza dum exército, nem o homem valente se livra pela muita força.
17 An hors is false to helthe; forsothe he schal not be sauyd in the habundaunce, `ether plentee, of his vertu.
O cavalo é falaz para a segurança: não livra ninguém com a sua grande força.
18 Lo! the iyen of the Lord ben on men dredynge hym; and in hem that hopen on his merci.
Eis que os olhos do Senhor estão sobre os que o temem, sobre os que esperam na sua misericórdia;
19 That he delyuere her soules fro deth; and feede hem in hungur.
Para lhes livrar as almas da morte, e para os conservar vivos na fome.
20 Oure soule suffreth the Lord; for he is oure helpere and defendere.
A nossa alma espera no Senhor: ele é o nosso auxílio e o nosso escudo.
21 For oure herte schal be glad in him; and we schulen haue hope in his hooli name.
Pois nele se alegra o nosso coração; porquanto temos confiado no seu santo nome.
22 Lord, thi merci be maad on vs; as we hopiden in thee.
Seja a tua misericórdia, Senhor, sobre nós, como em ti esperamos.
