Psalms 140

1 To victorie, the salm of Dauith. Lord, delyuere thou me fro an yuel man; delyuere thou me fro a wickid man.

לַמְנַצֵּחַ מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִֽד׃ חַלְּצֵנִי יְהֹוָה מֵֽאָדָם רָע מֵאִישׁ חֲמָסִים תִּנְצְרֵֽנִי׃

2 Whiche thouyten wickidnesses in the herte; al dai thei ordeyneden batels.

אֲשֶׁר חָשְׁבוּ רָעוֹת בְּלֵב כׇּל־יוֹם יָגוּרוּ מִלְחָמֽוֹת׃

3 Thei scharpiden her tungis as serpentis; the venym of snakis vndir the lippis of hem.

שָׁנְנוּ לְשׁוֹנָם כְּֽמוֹ־נָחָשׁ חֲמַת עַכְשׁוּב תַּחַת שְׂפָתֵימוֹ סֶֽלָה׃

4 Lord, kepe thou me fro the hond of the synnere; and delyuere thou me fro wickid men. Which thouyten to disseyue my goyngis;

שׇׁמְרֵנִי יְהֹוָה ׀ מִידֵי רָשָׁע מֵאִישׁ חֲמָסִים תִּנְצְרֵנִי אֲשֶׁר חָשְׁבוּ לִדְחוֹת פְּעָמָֽי׃

5 proude men hidden a snare to me. And thei leiden forth cordis in to a snare; thei settiden sclaundir to me bisidis the weie.

טָמְנֽוּ־גֵאִים ׀ פַּח לִי וַחֲבָלִים פָּרְשׂוּ רֶשֶׁת לְיַד־מַעְגָּל מֹקְשִׁים שָׁתוּ־לִי סֶֽלָה׃

6 I seide to the Lord, Thou art mi God; Lord, here thou the vois of my biseching.

אָמַרְתִּי לַיהֹוָה אֵלִי אָתָּה הַאֲזִינָה יְהֹוָה קוֹל תַּחֲנוּנָֽי׃

7 Lord, Lord, the vertu of myn heelthe; thou madist schadowe on myn heed in the dai of batel.

יֱהֹוִה אֲדֹנָי עֹז יְשׁוּעָתִי סַכֹּתָה לְרֹאשִׁי בְּיוֹם נָֽשֶׁק׃

8 Lord, bitake thou not me fro my desire to the synnere; thei thouyten ayens me, forsake thou not me, lest perauenture thei ben enhaunsid.

אַל־תִּתֵּן יְהֹוָה מַאֲוַיֵּי רָשָׁע זְמָמוֹ אַל־תָּפֵק יָרוּמוּ סֶֽלָה׃

9 The heed of the cumpas of hem; the trauel of her lippis schal hile hem.

רֹאשׁ מְסִבָּי עֲמַל שְׂפָתֵימוֹ (יכסומו) [יְכַסֵּֽימוֹ]׃

10 Colis schulen falle on hem, thou schalt caste hem doun in to fier; in wretchidnessis thei schulen not stonde.

(ימיטו) [יִמּוֹטוּ] עֲלֵיהֶם גֶּחָלִים בָּאֵשׁ יַפִּלֵם בְּמַהֲמֹרוֹת בַּל־יָקֽוּמוּ׃

11 A man a greet ianglere schal not be dressid in erthe; yuels schulen take an vniust man in perisching.

אִישׁ לָשׁוֹן בַּל־יִכּוֹן בָּאָרֶץ אִישׁ־חָמָס רָע יְצוּדֶנּוּ לְמַדְחֵפֹֽת׃

12 I haue knowe, that the Lord schal make dom of a nedi man; and the veniaunce of pore men.

(ידעת) [יָדַעְתִּי] כִּֽי־יַעֲשֶׂה יְהֹוָה דִּין עָנִי מִשְׁפַּט אֶבְיֹנִֽים׃

13 Netheles iust men schulen knouleche to thi name; and riytful men schulen dwelle with thi cheer.

אַךְ צַדִּיקִים יוֹדוּ לִשְׁמֶךָ יֵשְׁבוּ יְשָׁרִים אֶת־פָּנֶֽיךָ׃
