Psalms 140

1 To victorie, the salm of Dauith. Lord, delyuere thou me fro an yuel man; delyuere thou me fro a wickid man.

١ لِإِمَامِ ٱلْمُغَنِّينَ. مَزْمُورٌ لِدَاوُدَ أَنْقِذْنِي يَارَبُّ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلشَّرِّ. مِنْ رَجُلِ ٱلظُّلْمِ ٱحْفَظْنِي.

2 Whiche thouyten wickidnesses in the herte; al dai thei ordeyneden batels.

٢ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ بِشُرُورٍ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ. ٱلْيَوْمَ كُلَّهُ يَجْتَمِعُونَ لِلْقِتَالِ.

3 Thei scharpiden her tungis as serpentis; the venym of snakis vndir the lippis of hem.

٣ سَنُّوا أَلْسِنَتَهُمْ كَحَيَّةٍ. حُمَةُ ٱلْأُفْعُوَانِ تَحْتَ شِفَاهِهِمْ. سِلَاهْ.

4 Lord, kepe thou me fro the hond of the synnere; and delyuere thou me fro wickid men. Which thouyten to disseyue my goyngis;

٤ ٱحْفَظْنِي يَارَبُّ مِنْ يَدَيِ ٱلشِّرِّيرِ. مِنْ رَجُلِ ٱلظُّلْمِ أَنْقِذْنِي. ٱلَّذِينَ تَفَكَّرُوا فِي تَعْثِيرِ خُطُوَاتِي.

5 proude men hidden a snare to me. And thei leiden forth cordis in to a snare; thei settiden sclaundir to me bisidis the weie.

٥ أَخْفَى لِي ٱلْمُسْتَكْبِرُونَ فَخًّا وَحِبَالًا. مَدُّوا شَبَكَةً بِجَانِبِ ٱلطَّرِيقِ. وَضَعُوا لِي أَشْرَاكًا. سِلَاهْ.

6 I seide to the Lord, Thou art mi God; Lord, here thou the vois of my biseching.

٦ قُلْتُ لِلرَّبِّ: «أَنْتَ إِلَهِي». أَصْغِ يَارَبُّ إِلَى صَوْتِ تَضَرُّعَاتِي.

7 Lord, Lord, the vertu of myn heelthe; thou madist schadowe on myn heed in the dai of batel.

٧ يَارَبُّ ٱلسَّيِّدُ، قُوَّةَ خَلَاصِي، ظَلَّلْتَ رَأْسِي فِي يَوْمِ ٱلْقِتَالِ.

8 Lord, bitake thou not me fro my desire to the synnere; thei thouyten ayens me, forsake thou not me, lest perauenture thei ben enhaunsid.

٨ لَا تُعْطِ يَارَبُّ شَهَوَاتِ ٱلشِّرِّيرِ. لَا تُنَجِّحْ مَقَاصِدَهُ. يَتَرَفَّعُونَ. سِلَاهْ.

9 The heed of the cumpas of hem; the trauel of her lippis schal hile hem.

٩ أَمَّا رُؤُوسُ ٱلْمُحِيطِينَ بِي فَشَقَاءُ شِفَاهِهِمْ يُغَطِّيهِمْ.

10 Colis schulen falle on hem, thou schalt caste hem doun in to fier; in wretchidnessis thei schulen not stonde.

١٠ لِيَسْقُطْ عَلَيْهِمْ جَمْرٌ. لِيُسْقَطُوا فِي ٱلنَّارِ، وَفِي غَمَرَاتٍ فَلَا يَقُومُوا.

11 A man a greet ianglere schal not be dressid in erthe; yuels schulen take an vniust man in perisching.

١١ رَجُلُ لِسَانٍ لَا يَثْبُتُ فِي ٱلْأَرْضِ. رَجُلُ ٱلظُّلْمِ يَصِيدُهُ ٱلشَّرُّ إِلَى هَلَاكِهِ.

12 I haue knowe, that the Lord schal make dom of a nedi man; and the veniaunce of pore men.

١٢ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ ٱلرَّبَّ يُجْرِي حُكْمًا لِلْمَسَاكِينِ وَحَقًّا لِلْبَائِسِينَ.

13 Netheles iust men schulen knouleche to thi name; and riytful men schulen dwelle with thi cheer.

١٣ إِنَّمَا ٱلصِّدِّيقُونَ يَحْمَدُونَ ٱسْمَكَ. ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمُونَ يَجْلِسُونَ فِي حَضْرَتِكَ.
