Psalms 14
1 To the victorie of Dauid. The vnwise man seide in his herte, God is not. Thei ben corrupt, and ben maad abhomynable in her studies; noon is that doith good, noon is til to oon.
Au maître-chantre. — De David. L'insensé a dit en son coeur: «Il n'y a pas de Dieu!» Les hommes se sont corrompus: leur conduite est abominable; Il n'y a personne qui fasse le bien.
2 The Lord bihelde fro heuene on the sones of men; that he se, if ony is vndurstondynge, ethir sekynge God.
Des cieux l'Éternel abaisse son regard sur les fils des hommes, Pour voir s'il y a quelque homme intelligent, Et qui cherche Dieu.
3 Alle bowiden awei, togidere thei ben maad vnprofitable; noon is that doth good, noon is `til to oon. The throte of hem is an open sepulcre, thei diden gilefuli with her tungis; the venym of snakis is vndur her lippis. Whos mouth is ful of cursyng and bittirnesse; her feet ben swift to schede out blood. Sorewe and cursidnesse is in the weies of hem, and thei knewen not the weie of pees; the drede of God is not bifor her iyen.
Ils se sont tous détournés, ils se sont pervertis tous ensemble; Il n'y en a pas qui fasse le bien, Non, pas même un seul!
4 Whether alle men that worchen wickidnesse schulen not knowe; that deuowren my puple, as mete of breed?
Sont-ils donc sans intelligence, tous ces ouvriers d'iniquité? Ils dévorent mon peuple comme on mange du pain; Ils n'invoquent point l'Éternel.
5 Thei clepeden not the Lord; thei trembliden there for dreed, where was no drede;
Ils seront saisis d'une terreur soudaine; Car Dieu est au milieu de la race juste.
6 for the Lord is in a riytful generacioun. Thou hast schent the counsel of a pore man; for the Lord is his hope.
Vous voudriez faire échouer les desseins du malheureux; Mais l'Éternel est son refuge!
7 Who schal yyue fro Syon helthe to Israel? Whanne the Lord hath turned awei the caitifte of his puple; Jacob schal `fulli be ioiful, and Israel schal be glad.
Oh! Qui apportera de Sion la délivrance d'Israël? Quand l'Éternel ramènera les captifs de son peuple, Jacob sera dans l'allégresse, Israël sera dans la joie!
