< Psalms 126 >
1 The song of grecis. Whanne the Lord turnede the caitifte of Sion; we weren maad as coumfortid.
A SONG OF THE ASCENTS. In YHWH’s turning back [to] the captivity of Zion, We have been as dreamers.
2 Thanne oure mouth was fillid with ioye; and oure tunge with ful out ioiyng. Thanne thei schulen seie among hethene men; The Lord magnefiede to do with hem.
Then our mouth is filled [with] laughter, And our tongue [with] singing, Then they say among nations, “YHWH did great things with these.”
3 The Lord magnefiede to do with vs; we ben maad glad.
YHWH did great things with us, We have been joyful.
4 Lord, turne thou oure caitifte; as a stronde in the south.
Turn again, O YHWH, [to] our captivity, As streams in the south.
5 Thei that sowen in teeris; schulen repe in ful out ioiyng.
Those sowing in tears, reap with singing,
6 Thei goynge yeden, and wepten; sendynge her seedis. But thei comynge schulen come with ful out ioiyng; berynge her handfullis.
Whoever goes on and weeps, Carrying the basket of seed, Surely comes in with singing, carrying his sheaves!
