Psalms 123

1 `The song of grecis. To thee Y haue reisid myn iyen; that dwellist in heuenes.

Un cántico para los peregrinos que van a Jerusalén. Alzo mi vista hacia ti, el único que gobierna desde los cielos.

2 Lo! as the iyen of seruauntis; ben in the hondis of her lordis. As the iyen of the handmaide ben in the hondis of her ladi; so oure iyen ben to oure Lord God, til he haue mercy on vs.

Tal como los siervos miran a su amo, o como la esclava mira a la señora de su casa, así fijamos nuestra mirada en ti, Señor, esperando que seas misericordioso con nosotros.

3 Lord, haue thou merci on vs, haue thou merci on vs; for we ben myche fillid with dispisyng.

Por favor, ten misericordia con nosotros, Señor, tennos misericordia. Ya hemos tenido mucho desprecio por parte de la gente.

4 For oure soule is myche fillid; we ben schenschipe to hem that ben abundaunte with richessis, and dispising to proude men.

Ya hemos tenido más que suficiente de los insultos del orgulloso, y el menosprecio del arrogante.
