Psalms 115
1 Lord, not to vs, not to vs; but yyue thou glorie to thi name.
Nicht uns, HERR, nicht uns, sondern deinem Namen gib Ehre, um deiner Gnade und Treue willen!
2 On thi merci and thi treuthe; lest ony tyme hethene men seien, Where is the God of hem?
Warum sollen die Heiden sagen: «Wo ist denn ihr Gott?»
3 Forsothe oure God in heuene; dide alle thingis, whiche euere he wolde.
Aber unser Gott ist ja im Himmel; er tut alles, was er will.
4 The symulacris of hethene men ben siluer and gold; the werkis of mennus hondis.
Ihre Götzen sind Silber und Gold, von Menschenhänden gemacht.
5 Tho han mouth, and schulen not speke; tho han iyen, and schulen not se.
Sie haben einen Mund und reden nicht, sie haben Augen und sehen nicht;
6 Tho han eeris, and schulen not here; tho han nose thurls, and schulen not smelle.
Ohren haben sie und hören nicht, eine Nase haben sie und riechen nicht;
7 Tho han hondis, and schulen not grope; tho han feet, and schulen not go; tho schulen not crye in her throte.
Hände haben sie und greifen nicht, Füße haben sie und gehen nicht; mit ihrer Kehle geben sie keinen Laut.
8 Thei that maken tho ben maad lijk tho; and alle that triste in tho.
Ihnen sind gleich, die sie machen, alle, die auf sie vertrauen.
9 The hous of Israel hopide in the Lord; he is the helpere `of hem, and the defendere of hem.
Israel, vertraue auf den HERRN! Er ist ihre Hilfe und ihr Schild.
10 The hous of Aaron hopide in the Lord; he is the helpere of hem, and the defendere of hem.
Haus Aaron, vertraue auf den HERRN! Er ist ihre Hilfe und ihr Schild.
11 Thei that dreden the Lord, hopiden in the Lord; he is the helpere of hem, and the defendere of hem.
Die ihr den HERRN fürchtet, vertrauet auf den HERRN! Er ist ihre Hilfe und ihr Schild.
12 The Lord was myndeful of vs; and blesside vs. He blesside the hous of Israel; he blesside the hous of Aaron.
Der HERR wolle unser gedenken; er wolle segnen! Er segne das Haus Israel, er segne das Haus Aaron!
13 He blesside alle men that dreden the Lord; `he blesside litle `men with the grettere.
Er segne, die den HERRN fürchten, die Kleinen samt den Großen!
14 The Lord encreesse on you; on you and on youre sones.
Der HERR wolle euch mehren, euch und eure Kinder!
15 Blessid be ye of the Lord; that made heuene and erthe.
Gesegnet seid ihr vom HERRN, der Himmel und Erde gemacht hat.
16 Heuene of `heuene is to the Lord; but he yaf erthe to the sones of men.
Der Himmel gehört dem HERRN; aber die Erde hat er den Menschenkindern gegeben.
17 Lord, not deed men schulen herie thee; nether alle men that goen doun in to helle.
Die Toten rühmen den HERRN nicht und keiner, der zur Stille hinabfährt.
18 But we that lyuen, blessen the Lord; fro this tyme now and til in to the world.
Wir aber wollen den HERRN preisen von nun an bis in Ewigkeit. Hallelujah!
