< Psalms 113 >
1 Alleluya. Children, preise ye the Lord; preise ye the name of the Lord.
Praise the Lord! Praise him, servants of the Lord! Praise the Lord's as he is!
2 The name of the Lord be blessid; fro this tyme now and til in to the world.
Let the Lord's nature be praised, now and forever.
3 Fro the risyng of the sunne til to the goyng doun; the name of the Lord is worthi to be preisid.
Let everyone everywhere, from the east to the west, praise the Lord as he is!
4 The Lord is hiy aboue alle folkis; and his glorie is aboue heuenes.
The Lord rules supreme over all nations; his glory extends higher than the heavens.
5 Who is as oure Lord God, that dwellith in hiye thingis;
Who is like the Lord our God? He is the one who lives on high, seated on his throne.
6 and biholdith meke thingis in heuene and in erthe?
He has to stoop low to look down on the heavens and the earth.
7 Reisynge a nedi man fro the erthe; and enhaunsinge a pore man fro drit.
He helps the poor up from the dust; he lifts the needy from the dump.
8 That he sette hym with princes; with the princes of his puple.
He gives them positions of honor together important leaders, with leaders of his own people.
9 Which makith a bareyn womman dwelle in the hous; a glad modir of sones.
He makes the childless woman happy in her home by giving her children. Praise the Lord!
