Psalms 111

1 Alleluya. Lord, Y schal knouleche to thee in al myn herte; in the counsel and congregacioun of iust men.

Halleluja! Preisen will ich den HERRN von ganzem Herzen im Kreise der Frommen und in der Gemeinde.

2 The werkis of the Lord ben greete; souyt out in to alle hise willis.

Groß sind die Werke des HERRN, erforschenswert für alle, die Gefallen an ihnen haben.

3 His werk is knoulechyng and grete doyng; and his riytfulnesse dwellith in to the world of world.

Ruhmvoll und herrlich ist sein Tun, und seine Gerechtigkeit bleibt ewig bestehn.

4 The Lord merciful in wille, and a merciful doere, hath maad a mynde of hise merueilis;

Er hat ein Gedächtnis seiner Wundertaten gestiftet; gnädig und barmherzig ist der HERR.

5 he hath youe meete to men dredynge hym. He schal be myndeful of his testament in to the world;

Speise hat er denen gegeben, die ihn fürchten; er gedenkt seines Bundes ewiglich.

6 he schal telle to his puple the vertu of hise werkis.

Sein machtvolles Walten hat er kundgetan seinem Volk, indem er ihnen das Erbe der Heiden gab.

7 That he yyue to hem the eritage of folkis; the werkis of hise hondis ben treuthe and doom.

Die Werke seiner Hände sind Treue und Recht; unwandelbar sind alle seine Gebote,

8 Alle hise comaundementis ben feithful, confermed in to the world of world; maad in treuthe and equite.

festgestellt für immer, für ewig, gegeben mit Treue und Redlichkeit.

9 The Lord sente redempcioun to hys puple; he comaundide his testament with outen ende. His name is hooli and dreedful;

Erlösung hat er seinem Volk gesandt, seinen Bund auf ewig verordnet; heilig und furchtgebietend ist sein Name.

10 the bigynnyng of wisdom is the drede of the Lord. Good vndirstondyng is to alle that doen it; his preising dwellith in to the world of world.

Die Furcht des HERRN ist der Weisheit Anfang, eine treffliche Einsicht für alle, die sie üben: sein Ruhm besteht in Ewigkeit.
