Psalms 111

1 Alleluya. Lord, Y schal knouleche to thee in al myn herte; in the counsel and congregacioun of iust men.

Halleluja! Ik wil Jahweh loven met heel mijn hart In de kring en de gemeente der vromen:

2 The werkis of the Lord ben greete; souyt out in to alle hise willis.

Groot zijn de werken van Jahweh, En door allen gezocht, die hun vreugd erin vinden.

3 His werk is knoulechyng and grete doyng; and his riytfulnesse dwellith in to the world of world.

Zijn daden stralen van glorie en luister, En zijn gerechtigheid houdt eeuwig stand.

4 The Lord merciful in wille, and a merciful doere, hath maad a mynde of hise merueilis;

Door zijn wonderen heeft Hij het in de herinnering gegrift: "Genadig en barmhartig is Jahweh!"

5 he hath youe meete to men dredynge hym. He schal be myndeful of his testament in to the world;

Hij gaf voedsel aan hen, die Hem vreesden, En bleef zijn Verbond voor eeuwig indachtig;

6 he schal telle to his puple the vertu of hise werkis.

Hij heeft zijn volk zijn machtige daden getoond, Door hun het erfdeel der heidenen te schenken.

7 That he yyue to hem the eritage of folkis; the werkis of hise hondis ben treuthe and doom.

Waarheid en recht zijn het werk zijner handen, Onveranderlijk al zijn geboden:

8 Alle hise comaundementis ben feithful, confermed in to the world of world; maad in treuthe and equite.

Onwrikbaar voor altijd en eeuwig, Gedragen door trouw en door recht.

9 The Lord sente redempcioun to hys puple; he comaundide his testament with outen ende. His name is hooli and dreedful;

Hij heeft zijn volk verlossing gebracht, Zijn Verbond voor eeuwig bekrachtigd; Heilig, ontzaglijk is zijn Naam!

10 the bigynnyng of wisdom is the drede of the Lord. Good vndirstondyng is to alle that doen it; his preising dwellith in to the world of world.

Het begin van de wijsheid is de vreze van Jahweh, En die haar beoefent, zal helder inzicht bekomen; Voor eeuwig zij Hij geprezen!
