< Proverbs 8 >

1 Whether wisdom crieth not ofte; and prudence yyueth his vois?
‌ʻIkai ʻoku kalanga ʻae poto? Pea ʻai mai ʻe he faʻa ʻilo hono leʻo?
2 In souereyneste and hiy coppis, aboue the weie, in the myddis of pathis,
‌ʻOku tuʻu ia ʻi he tumutumu ʻoe ngaahi potu māʻolunga, mo e ngaahi potu ʻi he ngaahi veʻe hala.
3 and it stondith bisidis the yate of the citee, in thilke closyngis, and spekith, and seith, A!
‌ʻOku ne kalanga ʻi he ngaahi matapā, mo e ngaahi matanikolo, ʻi he ava ʻoe ngaahi matapā.
4 ye men, Y crie ofte to you; and my vois is to the sones of men.
“ʻAe kau tangata, ʻoku ou ui kiate kimoutolu! Pea ʻoku hiki hake hoku leʻo ki he fānau ʻae tangata,
5 Litle children, vndirstonde ye wisdom; and ye vnwise men, `perseyue wisdom.
‌ʻAe kau sesele, mou ʻilo ʻae poto: pea ke maʻu ʻekimoutolu, ko e kau vale, ʻae loto faʻa ʻilo.
6 Here ye, for Y schal speke of grete thingis; and my lippis schulen be openyd, to preche riytful thingis.
Fanongo; he te u lea ki he ngaahi meʻa ʻoku lelei; pea ʻe mafaʻa hoku loungutu ʻi he ngaahi meʻa totonu.
7 My throte schal bithenke treuthe; and my lippis schulen curse a wickid man.
Pea ʻe lea ʻaki ʻae moʻoni ʻe hoku ngutu; pea ko e meʻa fakalielia ki hoku loungutu ʻae kovi.
8 My wordis ben iust; no schrewid thing, nether weiward is in tho.
‌ʻOku ʻi he māʻoniʻoni ʻae ngaahi lea kotoa pē ʻa hoku ngutu; ʻoku ʻikai ha pikopiko pe ha kākā ʻi ai.
9 `My wordis ben riytful to hem that vndurstonden; and ben euene to hem that fynden kunnyng.
‌ʻOku ʻilongofua kotoa pē kiate ia ʻoku poto, pea totonu kiate kinautolu ʻoku maʻu ʻae ʻilo.
10 Take ye my chastisyng, and not money; chese ye teching more than tresour.
Maʻuā ʻeku akonaki, kae siʻaki ʻae siliva; pea ke lelei hake ʻae maʻu ʻoe ʻilo ʻi he koula lelei.
11 For wisdom is betere than alle richessis moost preciouse; and al desirable thing mai not be comparisound therto.
“He ʻoku lelei hake ʻae poto ʻi he ngaahi maka koloa; pea ʻoku ʻikai faʻa tatau mo ia ʻae ngaahi meʻa kotoa pē ʻoku ke faʻa holi ki ai.
12 Y, wisdom, dwelle in counsel; and Y am among lernyd thouytis.
Ko au poto ʻoku ma nonofo mo faʻa filioʻi, pea u maʻu ʻae ʻilo ʻi he fakatupu meʻa foʻou.
13 The drede of the Lord hatith yuel; Y curse boost, and pride, and a schrewid weie, and a double tungid mouth.
Ko e manavahē kia Sihova, ko e fehiʻa ia ki he kovi: ko e fielahi, mo e fakapuhopuhā, mo e angakovi mo e ngutu kovi, ʻoku ou fehiʻa ki ai.
14 Counseil is myn, and equyte `is myn; prudence is myn, and strengthe `is myn.
‌ʻOku ʻaʻaku ʻae akonaki, mo e poto moʻoni: ko au ko e faʻa ʻilo, ʻoku ʻiate au ʻae mālohi.
15 Kyngis regnen bi me; and the makeris of lawis demen iust thingis bi me.
Ko e meʻa ʻiate au ʻoku pule ai ʻae ngaahi tuʻi, pea fai fakamaau ʻe he houʻeiki.
16 Princis comaunden bi me; and myyti men demen riytfulnesse bi me.
‌ʻOku pule ʻae houʻeiki ʻiate au, mo e kakai ʻeiki, mo e kau fakamaau kotoa pē ʻo māmani.
17 I loue hem that louen me; and thei that waken eerli to me, schulen fynde me.
‌ʻOku ou ʻofa kiate kinautolu ʻoku ʻofa kiate au; pea ʻe maʻu au ʻekinautolu ʻoku kumi tōtōaki kiate au.
18 With me ben rychessis, and glorie; souereyn richessis, and riytfulnesse.
‌ʻOku ʻiate au ʻae koloa mo e ongoongolelei; ʻio, ʻae koloa taʻepopo mo e māʻoniʻoni.
19 My fruyt is betere than gold, and precyouse stoon; and my seedis ben betere than chosun siluer.
‌ʻOku lelei hake ʻi he koula ʻa hoku fua, ʻio, ʻi he koula lelei; mo ʻeku koloa ʻi he siliva lelei.
20 Y go in the weies of riytfulnesse, in the myddis of pathis of doom;
‌ʻOku ou takimuʻa ʻi he hala ʻoe māʻoniʻoni, ʻi he loto hala ʻoe fakamaau:
21 that Y make riche hem that louen me, and that Y fille her tresouris.
Koeʻuhi ke u pule ke maʻu ʻae koloa moʻoni ʻekinautolu ʻoku ʻofa kiate au; pea te u fakafonu honau tukunga koloa.
22 The Lord weldide me in the bigynnyng of hise weies; bifore that he made ony thing, at the bigynnyng.
“Naʻe maʻu au ʻe Sihova ʻi he kamataʻanga ʻo hono hala, ʻi muʻa ange ʻi heʻene ngaahi ngāue ʻi muʻa.
23 Fro with out bigynnyng Y was ordeined; and fro elde tymes, bifor that the erthe was maad.
Naʻe fokotuʻu au talu mei muʻa, mei he kamataʻanga ʻi he teʻeki ai ʻa māmani.
24 Depthis of watris weren not yit; and Y was conseyued thanne. The wellis of watris hadden not brokun out yit,
Naʻe fanauʻi au ʻi he teʻeki ke ai ha loloto; ʻi he teʻeki ai ha matavai ʻoku fonu ʻi he vai.
25 and hillis stoden not togidere yit bi sad heuynesse; bifor litil hillis Y was born.
‌ʻI he teʻeki ke tuʻumaʻu ʻae ngaahi moʻunga; naʻe fanauʻi au ʻi he teʻeki ai ʻae ngaahi potu māʻolunga:
26 Yit he hadde not maad erthe; and floodis, and the herris of the world.
‌ʻI he teʻeki ai te ne ngaohi ʻa māmani, pe ko e potu maʻalaʻala, pe ko e potu lahi ʻoe efu ʻo māmani.
27 Whanne he made redi heuenes, Y was present; whanne he cumpasside the depthis of watris bi certeyn lawe and cumpas.
‌ʻI heʻene teuteu ʻae ngaahi langi, naʻaku ʻi ai au: pea ʻi heʻene tuku ʻae ngataʻanga ʻoe funga loloto:
28 Whanne he made stidfast the eir aboue; and weiede the wellis of watris.
‌ʻI heʻene fokotuʻu ʻae ngaahi ʻao ʻi ʻolunga: ʻi heʻene fakamālohi ʻae ngaahi matavai ʻoe loloto:
29 Whanne he cumpasside to the see his marke; and settide lawe to watris, that tho schulden not passe her coostis. Whanne he peiside the foundementis of erthe;
‌ʻI heʻene tuku ki he tahi ʻene fono, ke ʻoua naʻa laka mai ia ʻi he meʻa kuo ne fekau: ʻi heʻene tuʻutuʻuni ʻae ngaahi tuʻunga ʻo māmani.
30 Y was making alle thingis with him. And Y delitide bi alle daies, and pleiede bifore hym in al tyme,
Naʻaku ʻi ai mo ia, ʻo hangē ha taha kuo tupu hake mo ia: ko hono fiefiaʻanga au ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē, pe naʻaku fiefia maʻuaipē i hono ʻao;
31 and Y pleiede in the world; and my delices ben to be with the sones of men.
Naʻaku fiefia ʻi he ngaahi potu ʻo māmani ʻoku kakai, pea naʻe ʻi he fānau ʻae tangata ʻa ʻeku fiefiaʻanga.
32 Now therfor, sones, here ye me; blessid ben thei that kepen my weies.
“Ko ia, ʻE fānau, mou fanongo mai kiate au: he ʻoku monūʻia ia ʻoku tokanga ki hoku ngaahi hala.
33 Here ye teching, and be ye wise men; and nile ye caste it awei.
Mou fanongo ki he akonaki, pea mou poto, pea ʻoua naʻa mou taʻetokanga ki ai.
34 Blessid is the man that herith me, and that wakith at my yatis al dai; and kepith at the postis of my dore.
‌ʻOku monūʻia ʻae tangata ʻoku fanongo kiate au, ʻo ne tatali ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē ʻi hoku ngaahi matapā, ʻo ne nofo ʻi hoku veʻe matapā.
35 He that fyndith me, schal fynde lijf; and schal drawe helthe of the Lord.
He ko ia ʻoku ne maʻu au ʻoku ne maʻu ʻae moʻui, pea ʻe ʻiate ia ʻae ongoongolelei meia Sihova.”
36 But he that synneth ayens me, schal hurte his soule; alle that haten me, louen deeth.
Ka ko ia ʻoku fai angahala kiate au, ʻoku ne fai kovi ki hono laumālie ʻoʻona: ʻoku ʻofa ki he mate ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku fehiʻa kiate au.
