< Proverbs 28 >

1 A wickid man fleeth, whanne no man pursueth; but a iust man as a lioun tristynge schal be with out ferdfulnesse.
‌ʻOku hola ʻae kakai fai kovi ʻi he ʻikai tuli ki ai ha taha: ka ʻoku toʻa ʻae māʻoniʻoni ʻo hangē ko e laione.
2 For the synnes of the lond ben many princis therof; and for the wisdom of a man, and for the kunnyng of these thingis that ben seid, the lijf of the duyk schal be lengere.
Ko e meʻa ʻi he fai hala ʻae fonua ko ia, ʻoku tupu ʻo tokolahi ai hono houʻeiki: ka koeʻuhi ko e tangata poto mo ʻiloʻilo ʻe fakatolonga ai hono lelei.
3 A pore man falsli calengynge pore men, is lijk a grete reyn, wherynne hungur is maad redi.
Ko e tangata masiva ʻoku fakamālohi ki he masiva, ʻoku tatau pe ia mo e ʻuha lolo ʻoku ʻauha ai ʻae meʻakai.
4 Thei that forsaken the lawe, preisen a wickid man; thei that kepen `the lawe, ben kyndlid ayens hym.
‌ʻOku fakamālō ki he angahala ʻekinautolu ʻoku liʻaki ʻae fono: ka ʻoku fakakikihi mo kinautolu ʻakinautolu ʻoku tauhi ki he fono.
5 Wickid men thenken not doom; but thei that seken the Lord, perseyuen alle thingis.
‌ʻOku ʻikai ʻiloʻi ʻae fakamaau ʻe he kakai angakovi: ka ʻoku ʻilo ʻae meʻa kotoa pē ʻekinautolu ʻoku kumi kia Sihova.
6 Betere is a pore man goynge in his sympilnesse, than a riche man in schrewid weies.
‌ʻOku lelei hake ʻaia ʻoku masiva ka ʻoku ʻeveʻeva ʻi heʻene angatonu, ʻiate ia ʻoku koloaʻia ka ʻoku pikopiko hono ngaahi hala.
7 He that kepith the lawe, is a wijs sone; but he that fedith glotouns, schendith his fadir.
Ko ia ʻoku fai ki he fono ko e foha poto ia: ka ko ia ʻoku kaumeʻa mo e kakai fakamaveuveu ʻoku fakamaaʻi ʻe ia ʻa ʻene tamai.
8 He that gaderith togidere richessis bi vsuris, and fre encrees, gaderith tho togidere ayens pore men.
Ko ia ʻoku fakalahi ʻene koloa ʻi he foaki paʻanga ke toe totongi mai, mo e fai taʻetotonu, ʻe tānaki ia ʻe ia ki ha taha ʻe manavaʻofa ki he masiva.
9 His preyer schal be maad cursid, that bowith awei his eere; that he here not the lawe.
Ko ia ʻoku fakatafoki hono telinga ke ʻoua naʻa ne fanongo ki he fono, ʻe hoko ʻene lotu ʻaʻana ko e meʻa fakalielia.
10 He that disseyueth iust men in an yuel weye, schal falle in his perisching; and iuste men schulen welde hise goodis.
Ko ia ʻe fakahēʻi ʻae māʻoniʻoni ke ne ʻalu ʻi ha hala kovi, ʻe tō pe foki ia ki heʻene luo ʻaʻana: ka ʻe maʻu ʻe he fai totonu ʻae ngaahi meʻa lelei.
11 A ryche man semeth wijs to him silf; but a pore man prudent schal serche him.
‌ʻOku poto ʻae tangata koloaʻia ʻi hono mata ʻoʻona; ka ʻoku ʻiloʻi ia ʻe he tangata masiva ʻoku faʻa fakakaukau.
12 In enhaunsing of iust men is miche glorie; whanne wickid men regnen, fallyngis of men ben.
‌ʻOka fiefia ʻae kakai māʻoniʻoni, ʻoku ai ʻae ongoongolelei lahi: ka ʻoka pule ʻae angahala, kuo fakafufū ʻae tangata.
13 He that hidith hise grete trespassis, schal not be maad riytful; but he that knoulechith and forsakith tho, schal gete merci.
‌ʻE ʻikai monūʻia ia ʻaia ʻoku ʻufiʻufi ʻene ngaahi angahala: ka ko ia ʻoku vete ia mo liʻaki ʻe maʻu ʻe ia ʻae ʻaloʻofa.
14 Blessid is the man, which is euere dredeful; but he that is `harde of soule, schal falle in to yuel.
‌ʻOku monūʻia ʻae tangata ʻoku manavahē maʻuaipē: ka ʻe tō ki he kovi ʻaia ʻoku fakafefeka hono loto.
15 A rorynge lioun, and an hungry bere, is a wickid prince on a pore puple.
‌ʻO hangē ko e laione ngungulu, mo e pea ʻoku ʻoho fano; ʻoku pehē ʻae pule ʻoku angakovi ki heʻene kakai masiva.
16 A duyk nedi of prudence schal oppresse many men bi fals chalenge; but the daies of hym that hatith aueryce, schulen be maad longe.
Ko e tuʻi foki ʻoku masiva ʻi he fakakaukau, ʻoku lahi ʻene fakamālohi: ka ko ia ʻoku fehiʻa ki he manumanu, ʻoku fakatolonga ʻe ia hono ngaahi ʻaho.
17 No man susteyneth a man that falsly chalengith the blood of a man, if he fleeth `til to the lake.
Ko e tangata ko ia ʻoku fai fakamālohi ki he toto ʻo ha tokotaha ʻe mole ia ki he luo; ʻoua naʻa taʻofi ia ʻe ha tokotaha.
18 He that goith simpli, schal be saaf; he that goith bi weiward weies, schal falle doun onys.
Ko ia ʻoku ʻeveʻeva ʻi he angatonu ʻe fakamoʻui ia: ka ʻe hinga leva ia ʻaia ʻoku pikopiko hono ngaahi hala.
19 He that worchith his lond, schal be fillid with looues; he that sueth ydelnesse, schal be fillid with nedynesse.
Ko ia ʻoku faʻa ngāue ki heʻene ngoue ʻe maʻu ʻe ia ʻae meʻakai lahi: ka ʻe lahi moʻoni ʻae masiva kiate ia ʻoku muimui ki he kakai taʻepoto.
20 A feithful man schal be preisid myche; but he that hastith to be maad riche, schal not be innocent.
‌ʻE lahi ʻaupito ʻae tāpuaki ki he tangata ʻoku angatonu: ka ko ia ʻoku fai fakatoʻotoʻo ke ne koloaʻia ʻe ʻikai tonuhia ia.
21 He that knowith a face in doom, doith not wel; this man forsakith treuthe, yhe, for a mussel of breed.
‌ʻOku ʻikai lelei ke filifilimānako: he ko e tangata ʻoku pehē, ʻe fai hala ia ke ne maʻu ai ha konga mā.
22 A man that hastith to be maad riche, and hath enuye to othere men; woot not that nedinesse schal come on hym.
‌ʻOku ʻiate ia ʻoku fai fakatoʻotoʻo ke ne koloaʻia ʻae mata ʻoku kovi, pea ʻoku ʻikai te ne tokangaʻi ʻe hoko mai ʻae masiva kiate ia.
23 He that repreueth a man, schal fynde grace aftirward at hym; more than he that disseyueth bi flateryngis of tunge.
Ko ia ʻoku lea valoki ki ha tangata ʻe maʻu ʻe ia ʻae ʻofa lahi hake, ʻamui ʻiate ia ʻoku lea lapu ʻaki ʻae ʻelelo.
24 He that withdrawith ony thing fro his fadir and fro his modir, and seith that this is no synne, is parcener of a manquellere.
Ko ia ʻoku kaihaʻa mei heʻene tamai pe ko ʻene faʻē, ʻo ne pehē, “ʻOku ʻikai ko e fai hala ia;” ʻoku kaumeʻa ia mo e tangata fakaʻauha.
25 He that auauntith hym silf, and alargith, reisith stryues; but he that hopith in the Lord, schal be sauyd.
Ko ia ʻoku loto fielahi ʻoku fakatupu ʻe ia ʻae fekeʻikeʻi: ka ʻe fakamonūʻia ia ʻaia ʻoku falala kia Sihova.
26 He that tristith in his herte, is a fool; but he that goith wiseli,
Ko ia ʻoku falala ki hono loto ʻoʻona ko e vale ia: ka ko ia ʻoku ʻalu fakapotopoto, ʻe fakahaofi ia.
27 schal be preysid. He that yyueth to a pore man, schal not be nedi; he that dispisith `a pore man bisechynge, schal suffre nedynesse.
Ko ia ʻoku faʻa foaki ki he masiva ʻe ʻikai masiva ia: ka ko ia ʻoku fufū hono mata ʻe lahi ʻae fakamalaʻia ʻe hoko ki ai.
28 Whanne vnpitouse men risen, men schulen be hid; whanne tho `vnpitouse men han perischid, iust men schulen be multiplied.
‌ʻOka hakeakiʻi ʻae angahala, ʻoku toitoi ʻae kakai: ka ʻoka ʻauha ʻakinautolu, ʻoku tupu ʻo tokolahi ʻae māʻoniʻoni.
