Proverbs 2
1 Mi sone, if thou resseyuest my wordis, `and hidist myn heestis anentis thee;
Hijo mío, si aceptas mis palabras, Y guardas mis mandamientos dentro de ti,
2 that thin eere here wisdom, bowe thin herte to knowe prudence.
Eres de oído atento a la sabiduría, E inclinas tu corazón a la inteligencia,
3 For if thou inwardli clepist wisdom, and bowist thin herte to prudence;
Si invocas a la prudencia, Y al entendimiento alzas tu voz,
4 if thou sekist it as money, and diggist it out as tresours;
Si la procuras como a la plata, Y la rebuscas como a tesoros escondidos,
5 thanne thou schalt vndirstonde the drede of the Lord, and schalt fynde the kunnyng of God.
Entonces entenderás el temor a Yavé, Y hallarás el conocimiento de ʼElohim.
6 For the Lord yyueth wisdom; and prudence and kunnyng is of his mouth.
Porque Yavé da la sabiduría. De su boca procede la ciencia y la inteligencia.
7 He schal kepe the heelthe of riytful men, and he schal defende hem that goen sympli.
Él atesora el acierto para los hombres rectos, Es escudo al que anda en integridad.
8 And he schal kepe the pathis of riytfulnesse, and he schal kepe the weies of hooli men.
Es el que guarda las sendas de la justicia, Y preserva el camino de sus santos.
9 Thanne thou schalt vndirstonde riytfulnesse, and dom, and equytee, and ech good path.
Entonces entenderás la justicia y el derecho, La equidad y todo buen camino.
10 If wysdom entrith in to thin herte, and kunnyng plesith thi soule,
Cuando la sabiduría entre en tu corazón Y el conocimiento sea dulce a tu alma,
11 good councel schal kepe thee, and prudence schal kepe thee; that thou be delyuered fro an yuel weie,
Te guardará la discreción. Te preservará la prudencia
12 and fro a man that spekith weiward thingis.
Para librarte del camino malo Del hombre que habla cosas perversas,
13 Whiche forsaken a riytful weie, and goen bi derk weies;
De los que abandonan los caminos rectos Para andar por sendas tenebrosas,
14 whiche ben glad, whanne thei han do yuel, and maken ful out ioye in worste thingis;
De los que gozan haciendo el mal, Y se alegran en las perversidades del vicio,
15 whose weies ben weywerd, and her goyingis ben of yuel fame.
Cuyas sendas son tortuosas, Y sus caminos extraviados.
16 That thou be delyuered fro an alien womman, and fro a straunge womman, that makith soft hir wordis;
Te librará de la mujer ajena, De la extraña que endulza sus palabras,
17 and forsakith the duyk of hir tyme of mariage,
Que abandona al compañero de su juventud Y olvida el Pacto de su ʼElohim.
18 and hath foryete the couenaunt of hir God. For the hous of hir is bowid to deeth, and hir pathis to helle.
Su casa se inclina hacia la muerte, Sus sendas hacia el país de las sombras.
19 Alle that entren to hir, schulen not turne ayen, nether schulen catche the pathis of lijf.
Cuantos entran en ella no regresan, Ni retoman los senderos de la vida.
20 That thou go in a good weie, and kepe the pathis of iust men.
Para que sigas el buen camino Y guardes los senderos del justo.
21 Forsothe thei that ben riytful, schulen dwelle in the lond; and symple men schulen perfitli dwelle ther ynne.
Porque los rectos vivirán en la tierra, Y los de limpio corazón permanecerán en ella.
22 But vnfeithful men schulen be lost fro the loond; and thei that doen wickidli, schulen be takun awey fro it.
Pero el perverso será cortado de la tierra, Y de ella serán desarraigados los transgresores.
