Numbers 9
1 And the Lord spak to Moises, in the deseert of Synay, in the secounde yeer aftir that thei yeden out of the lond of Egipt, in the firste moneth,
L’Éternel parla à Moïse dans le désert de Sinaï, la seconde année de leur sortie du pays d’Egypte, le premier mois, en disant:
2 and seide, The sones of Israel make pask in his tyme,
"Que les enfants d’Israël fassent la Pâque au temps fixé.
3 in the fourtenthe day of this monethe, at the euentid, bi alle the cerymonyes and iustifiyngis therof.
C’Est le quatorzième jour de ce mois, vers le soir, temps fixé pour elle, que vous devez la faire; d’après tous ses statuts et toutes ses règles vous l’exécuterez."
4 And Moises comaundide to the sones of Israel, that thei schulden make pask;
Moïse parla aux enfants d’Israël, pour qu’ils fissent la Pâque.
5 whiche maden in his tyme, in the fourtenthe dai of the monethe, at euentid, in the hil of Synai; bi alle thingis whiche the Lord comaundide to Moises, the sones of Israel diden.
Et ils firent la Pâque au premier mois, le quatorzième jour du mois, vers le soir, dans le désert de Sinaï; exactement comme l’Éternel l’avait prescrit à Moïse, ainsi firent les enfants d’Israël.
6 Lo! forsothe summen vncleene on the soule of man, that myyten not make pask in that dai, neiyiden to Moises and Aaron,
Or, il y eut des hommes qui se trouvaient souillés par des cadavres humains, et qui ne purent faire la Pâque ce jour-là. Ils se présentèrent devant Moïse et devant Aaron, ce même jour,
7 and seiden to hem, We ben vncleene `on the soule of man; whi ben we defraudid, that we moun not offre an offryng to the Lord in his tyme, among the sones of Israel?
et ces hommes lui dirent: "Nous sommes souillés par des cadavres humains; mais pourquoi serions-nous privés d’offrir le sacrifice du Seigneur en son temps, seuls entre les enfants d’Israël?"
8 To whiche Moises answeride, Stonde ye, that Y take counseil, what the Lord comaundith of you.
Moïse leur répondit: "Attendez que j’apprenne ce que l’Éternel statuera à votre égard."
9 And the Lord spak to Moises, and seide,
Et l’Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
10 Speke thou to the sones of Israel, A man of youre folk which is vncleene `on the soule, ether in the weie fer, make he pask to the Lord in the secounde monethe,
"Parle ainsi aux enfants d’Israël: Si quelqu’un se trouve souillé par un cadavre, ou sur une route éloignée, parmi vous ou vos descendants, et qu’il veuille faire la Pâque en l’honneur de l’Éternel,
11 in the fourtenthe dai of the monethe, at euentid; with therf looues and letusis of the feeld he schal ete it.
c’est au deuxième mois, le quatorzième jour, vers le soir, qu’ils la feront; ils la mangeront avec des azymes et des herbes amères,
12 Thei schulen not leeue ony thing therof til the morewtid, and thei schulen not breke a boon therof; thei schulen kepe al the custom of pask.
n’en laisseront rien pour le lendemain, et n’en briseront pas un seul os: ils suivront, à son égard, tout le rite de la Pâque.
13 Forsothe if ony man is bothe cleene, and is not in the weie, and netheles made not pask, thilke man schal be distried fro hise puplis, for he offeride not sacrifice to the Lord in his tyme; he schal bere his synne.
Pour l’homme qui, étant pur et n’ayant pas été en voyage, se serait néanmoins abstenu de faire la Pâque, cette personne sera retranchée de son peuple: puisqu’il n’a pas offert en son temps le sacrifice du Seigneur, cet homme portera sa faute.
14 Also if a pilgrym and comelyng is anentis you, make he pask to the Lord, bi the cerymonyes and iustifiyngis therof; the same comaundement schal be anentis you, as wel to a comelyng as to a man borun in the loond.
Et si un étranger habite avec vous et veut faire la Pâque en l’honneur de l’Éternel, il devra se conformer au rite de la Pâque et à son institution: même loi vous régira, tant l’étranger que l’indigène."
15 Therfore in the dai in which the tabernacle was reisid, a cloude hilide it; sotheli as the licnesse of fier was on the tente fro euentid til the morewtid.
Or, le jour où l’on eut érigé le tabernacle, la nuée couvrit le tabernacle, la tente du statut; et le soir il y avait, au-dessus du tabernacle, comme un météore de feu persistant jusqu’au matin.
16 Thus it was don continueli, a cloude hilide it bi dai, and as the licnesse of fier bi nyyt.
Il en fut ainsi constamment: la nuée le couvrait le jour, et le météore de feu la nuit.
17 And whanne the cloude that hilide the tabernacle was takun awei, thanne the sones of Israel yeden forth, and in the place where the cloude stood, there thei settiden tentis.
Chaque fois que la nuée s’élevait de dessus la tente, aussitôt les enfants d’Israël levaient le camp; puis, à l’endroit où se fixait la nuée, là s’arrêtaient les enfants d’Israël.
18 At the comaundement of the Lord thei yeden forth, and at his comaundement thei settiden the tabernacle. In alle daies in whiche the cloude stood on the tabernacle, thei dwelliden in the same place.
C’Est sur l’ordre du Seigneur que partaient les enfants d’Israël, sur l’ordre du Seigneur qu’ils s’arrêtaient: tant que la nuée restait fixée sur le tabernacle, ils demeuraient campés.
19 And if it bifelde that it dwellide in myche tyme on the tabernacle, the sones of Israel weren in the watchis of the Lord, and thei yeden not forth,
Lors même que la nuée stationnait longtemps au-dessus du tabernacle, les enfants d’Israël, fidèles à l’observance du Seigneur, ne partaient point.
20 in hou many euer daies the cloude was on the tabernacle. At the comaundement of the Lord thei reisiden tentis, and at his comaundement thei diden doun.
Parfois la nuée ne restait qu’un certain nombre de jours sur le tabernacle: ils avaient campé à la voix de l’Éternel, à la voix de l’Éternel ils partaient.
21 If the cloude was fro euentid `til to the morewtid, and anoon in the morewtid hadde left, thei yeden forth; and if aftir a dai and nyyt it hadde go awei, thei scateriden, `ether diden doun, tentis.
Parfois la nuée demeurait du soir jusqu’au matin, et quand elle se retirait le matin on partait; ou bien un jour et une nuit, et quand elle se retirait, l’on partait.
22 Whether in two monethis, ether in o monethe, ether in lengere tyme, `the cloude hadde be on the tabernacle, the sones of Israel dwelliden in the same place, and yeden not forth; but anoon as it hadde go awey, thei moueden tentis.
Ou bien deux jours, ou un mois, ou une année entière, selon que la nuée prolongeait sa station sur le tabernacle, les enfants d’Israël restaient campés sans partir; puis, quand elle se retirait, ils levaient le camp.
23 Bi the word of the Lord thei settiden tentis, and bi his word thei wenten forth; and thei weren in the watchis of the Lord, bi his comaundement, bi the hond of Moyses.
A la voix de l’Éternel ils faisaient halte, à sa voix ils décampaient, gardant ainsi l’observance de l’Éternel, d’après l’ordre divin transmis par Moïse.
