1 And the Lord spak to Moises and to Aaron,
Chúa Hằng Hữu phán dạy Môi-se và A-rôn:
2 and seide, Take thou the summe of the sones of Caath, fro the myddis of Leuytis,
“Hãy kiểm kê dân số người Kê-hát, tức là một gia tộc trong đại tộc Lê-vi, theo từng họ hàng và gia đình.
3 bi her housis and meynees, fro the threttithe yeer and aboue `til to the fiftithe yeer, of alle that entren, that thei stonde and mynystre in the tabernacle of boond of pees.
Con hãy kiểm kê tất cả người nam từ ba mươi đến năm mươi tuổi, trong lứa tuổi phục vụ để họ đảm nhiệm công tác tại Đền Tạm.
4 This is the religioun of the sones of Caath; Aaron and his sones schulen entren in to the tabernacle of boond of pees, and in to the hooli of hooli thingis,
Đây là công việc của người Kê-hát tại Đền Tạm: Chăm sóc các vật chí thánh.
5 whanne the tentis schulen be moued; and thei schulen do doun the veil that hangith bifore the yatis, and thei schulen wlappe in it the arke of witnessyng;
Khi nào trại quân dời đi, A-rôn và các con trai người phải vào gỡ bức màn ngăn che nơi thánh và phủ lên Hòm Giao Ước,
6 and thei schulen hile eft with a veil of `skynnys of iacynt, and thei schulen stretche forth aboue a mentil al of iacynt, and thei schulen putte in barris `on the schuldris of the bereris.
rồi phủ lên trên các tấm da cá heo, trải tấm vải màu xanh lên trên cùng, rồi sửa đòn khiêng cho ngay ngắn.
7 Also thei schulen wlappe the boord of proposicioun in a mentil of iacynt, and thei schulen putte therwith cenceris, and morteris of gold, litil cuppis, and grete cuppis to fletyng sacrifices `to be sched; looues schulen euere be in the boord.
Họ sẽ trải lên bàn đựng Bánh Thánh tấm khăn xanh rồi đặt lên khăn các đĩa, tô, chén, và các bình dùng dâng rượu; Bánh Thánh dâng liên tục vẫn để y trên bàn.
8 And thei schulen strecche forth aboue a reed mentil, which thei schulen hile eft with an hilyng of `skynnes of iacynt, and thei schulen putte yn barris.
Trên tất cả những vật ấy, họ phải trải một tấm khăn đỏ thẫm, và trên cùng, phủ lên các tấm da cá heo, rồi xỏ đòn khiêng vào.
9 Thei schulen take also a mentil of iacynt with which thei schulen hile the candilstike, with hise lanternes, and tongis, and snytels, and alle the `vessels of oile that ben nedeful to the lanternes to be ordeyned;
Họ phải lấy một tấm khăn xanh phủ lên giá đèn để thắp sáng và các cây đèn, kéo cắt tim đèn và khay, và các bình đựng dầu để thắp đèn;
10 and on alle thingis thei schulen putte an hilyng of `skynnys of iacynt, and thei schulen putte in barris.
rồi bọc giá đèn và các đồ phụ tùng bằng tấm da cá heo, rồi đặt lên một đòn khiêng.
11 Also and thei schulen wlappe the goldun auter in a clooth of iacynt; and thei schulen stretche forth aboue an hilyng of `skynnys of iacynt, and thei schulen putte in barris.
Họ cũng phải trải một tấm khăn xanh trên bàn thờ bằng vàng, và phủ lên bằng các tấm da cá heo, rồi xỏ đòn khiêng vào.
12 Thei schulen wlappe in a mentil of iacynt alle the vessels in whiche it is mynystrid in the seyntuarie, and thei schulen strecche forth aboue an hilyng of `skynnys of iacynt, and thei schulen putte yn barris.
Tất cả vật dụng trong việc phục vụ tại nơi thánh phải gói lại trong một tấm vải xanh và phủ lên bằng các tấm da cá heo.
13 But also thei schulen clense the auter fro aische, and thei schulen wlappe it in a clooth of purpur.
Họ phải hốt tro tại bàn thờ bằng đồng, trải lên bàn thờ một tấm vải màu tím.
14 And thei schulen putte with it alle vessels whiche thei vsen in the seruyce therof, that is, ressettis of firis, tongis, and fleischokis, hokis, and censeris, ether pannys of coolis; thei schulen hile alle the vessels of the auter togidere in a veil of `skynnes of iacynt, and thei schulen putte in barris.
Đặt tất cả khí dụng tế lễ lên trên: Các lư hương, nĩa, vá và bát dùng vào việc rảy nước, tất cả phụ tùng bàn thờ, rồi phủ lên các tấm da cá heo và xỏ đòn khiêng vào.
15 And whanne Aaron and hise sones han wlappid the seyntuarie, and alle vessels therof, in the mouyng of tentis, thanne the sones of Caath schulen entre, that thei bere the thingis wlappid, and touche not the vessels of the seyntuarie, lest thei dien.
Sau khi A-rôn và các con trai người đậy xong nơi thánh và các khí dụng thánh, và khi trại quân sẵn sàng dời đi, dòng họ Kê-hát phải đến khuân vác, nhưng họ không được chạm đến các vật thánh kẻo bị thiệt mạng. Dòng họ Kê-hát phải khuân vác các vật dụng trong Đền Tạm.
16 Thes ben the birthuns of the sones of Caath, in the tabernacle of boond of pees, on whiche Eleazar, the sone of Aaron, preest, schal be; to whois cure `the oile perteyneth to ordeyne lanternes, and the encense which is maad bi craft, and the sacrifice which is offrid euere, and the oile of anoyntyng, and what euere thing perteyneth to the ournyng of the tabernacle, and of alle vessels that ben in the seyntuarie.
Thầy Tế lễ Ê-lê-a-sa, con trai A-rôn, có nhiệm vụ lo về dầu thắp đèn, hương liệu, lễ vật chay hằng dâng và dầu xức; cũng phải coi sóc cả Đền Tạm và các vật dụng bên trong, kể cả các đồ bạc và vật dụng thánh.”
17 And the Lord spak to Moises and to Aaron, and seide,
Chúa Hằng Hữu lại phán bảo Môi-se và A-rôn:
18 Nyle ye leese the puple of Caath fro the myddis of Leuytis;
“Đừng để gia tộc Kê-hát phải bị tiêu diệt.
19 but do ye this thing to hem, that thei lyue, and die not, if thei touchen the hooli of hooli thingis. Aaron and hise sones schulen entre, and thei schulen dispose the werkis of alle men, and thei schulen departe `what who owith to bere.
Đây là điều phải làm để giữ họ khỏi chết khi vào nơi thánh. A-rôn và các con của người sẽ vào nơi đó với họ, chỉ cho mỗi người vật gì họ phải khiêng.
20 Othere men se not bi ony curiouste tho thingis that ben in the seyntuarie, bifore that tho ben wlappid; ellis thei schulen die.
Tuyệt đối không ai được vào nơi đó để nhìn các vật thánh, dù chỉ trong giây lát, ai bất tuân đều phải chết.”
21 And the Lord spak to Moises,
Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo Môi-se:
22 and seide, Take thou the summe also of the sones of Gerson, bi her housis, and meynees, and kynredis; noumbre thou
“Cũng hãy kiểm kê các con cháu Ghẹt-sôn, tùy theo gia tộc và họ hàng họ.
23 fro thretti yeer and aboue `til to fifti yeer alle that entren and mynystren in the tabernacle of boond of pees.
Từ ba mươi tuổi đến năm mươi tuổi, gồm những người trong lứa tuổi phục vụ, để họ đảm nhiệm công tác tại Đền Tạm.
24 This is the office of the sones of Gersonytis, that thei bere the curteyns of the tabernacle, and the roof of the boond of pees, an other hilyng,
Đây là công việc của gia tộc Ghẹt-sôn phải làm và khiêng:
25 and a veil of iacynt aboue alle thingis, and the tente which hangith in the entryng of the tabernacle of the boond of pees;
Họ sẽ khiêng các bức màn của Đền Tạm, nóc của Đền Tạm, tấm da phủ nóc đền, tấm màn che cửa Đền Tạm.
26 and the curteyns of the greet street, and the veil in the entryng, `which veil is bifor the tabernacle.
Các màn quanh hành lang, màn che cửa hành lang, hành lang bao quanh Đền Tạm và bàn thờ, dây thừng và các dụng cụ khác. Những người thuộc gia tộc Ghẹt-sôn có nhiệm vụ di chuyển các vật ấy.
27 Whanne Aaron comaundith and hise sones, the sones of Gerson schulen bere alle thingis that perteynen to the auter, the coordis, and vessels of seruyce; and alle schulen wite, to what charge thei owen to be boundun.
Hết thảy công việc của con cháu Ghẹt-sôn, món chi họ phải khiêng đi, và việc chi họ phải làm đều sẽ theo lệnh A-rôn và các con trai người chỉ bảo. Họ phải giao cho người Ghẹt-sôn coi sóc các món chi phải khiêng đi.
28 This is the office of the meynee of Gersonytis, in the tabernacle of boond of pees; and thei schulen be vndur the hond of Ythamar, the sone of Aaron, preest.
Trong Đền Tạm, ấy là công việc của các họ hàng con cháu Ghẹt-sôn. Họ sẽ giữ chức phận mình dưới quyền cai trị của Y-tha-ma, con trai Thầy Tế lễ A-rôn.
29 Also thou schalt noumbre the sones of Merary, bi the meynees and housis of her fadris,
Ngươi phải kiểm kê con cháu Mê-ra-ri, tùy theo họ hàng và gia tộc của họ,
30 fro thretti yeer and aboue `til to fifti yeer, alle that entren to the office of her seruice, and to the ournyng of the boond of pees of witnessyng.
từ ba mươi tuổi đến năm mươi, tức là hết thảy những người trong lứa tuổi phục vụ, để họ đảm nhiệm công tác tại Đền Tạm.
31 These ben `the chargis of hem; thei schulen bere the tablis of the tabernacle, and the barris therof, the pilers and her foundementis; also the pilers of the greet street bi cumpas,
Họ sẽ khiêng khung trại, các thanh ngang, trụ và đế trụ,
32 with her foundementis, and her stakis, and coordis; thei schulen take alle instrumentis and purtenaunce at noumbre, and so thei schulen bere.
trụ hành lang, đế trụ, cọc lều, dây và các đồ phụ tùng. Khi phân công người nào khiêng vật gì phải lập danh sách rõ ràng.
33 This is the office of `the meynee of Meraritis, and the seruyce in the tabernacle of boond of pees; and thei schulen be vndur the hond of Ythamar, the sone of Aaron, preest.
Trên đây là nhiệm vụ của dòng họ Mê-ra-ri tại Đền Tạm dưới sự hướng dẫn của Y-tha-ma, con trai Thầy Tế lễ A-rôn.”
34 Therfor Moises and Aaron and the princes of the synagoge noumbriden the sones of Caath, bi the kynredis and housis of her fadris,
Vậy, Môi-se, A-rôn, và các nhà lãnh đạo dân chúng bắt đầu kiểm kê gia tộc Kê-hát,
35 fro thretti yeer and aboue `til to the fiftithe yeer, alle that entren to the seruyce of the tabernacle of boond of pees;
gồm những người trong lứa tuổi phục vụ, từ ba mươi đến năm mươi tuổi, để đảm nhiệm công tác tại Đền Tạm,
36 and thei weren foundun two thousynde seuene hundrid and fifti.

37 This is the noumbre of the puple of Caath, which entrith in to the tabernacle of boond of pees; Moises and Aaron noumbriden these, bi the word of the Lord, bi the hond of Moises.
Đó là tổng số người Kê-hát phục vụ tại Đền Tạm do Môi-se và A-rôn kiểm kê theo lời Chúa Hằng Hữu truyền cho Môi-se.
38 And the sones of Gerson weren noumbrid, bi the kyneredis and housis of her fadris,
Còn con cháu Ghẹt-sôn đã được kiểm kê, tùy theo họ hàng và gia tộc của họ,
39 fro thretti yeer and aboue `til to `the fiftithe yeer, alle that entren that thei mynystre in the tabernacle of boond of pees;
từ ba mươi đến năm mươi tuổi, tức là hết thảy những người trong lứa tuổi phục vụ đảm nhiệm công tác tại Đền Tạm,
40 and thei weren foundun two thousynde sixe hundrid and thretti.

41 This is the puple of Gersonytis, which Moises and Aaron noumbriden, bi the `word of the Lord.
Đó là những người về gia tộc Ghẹt-sôn đã được kiểm kê, tức là những người phục vụ trong Đền Tạm mà Môi-se và A-rôn tu bộ y theo lệnh của Chúa Hằng Hữu.
42 And the sones of Merary weren noumbrid, bi the kynredis and housis of her fadris,
Còn những người thuộc về gia tộc Mê-ra-ri đã được kiểm kê, tùy theo gia tộc và họ hàng của họ,
43 fro threttithe yeer and aboue `til to `the fiftithe yere, alle that entren to fille the customs, ether seruices, of the tabernacle of boond of pees;
từ ba mươi đến năm mươi tuổi, tức là mọi người có khả năng phục vụ trong trại,
44 `and thei weren foundun thre thousynde and two hundrid.
cộng được 3.200 người.
45 This is the noumbre of the sones of Merari, whiche Moyses and Aaron noumbriden, bi `the comaundement of the Lord, bi the hoond of Moises.
Đó là những người về các gia tộc Mê-ra-ri đã được kiểm kê. Môi-se và A-rôn kiểm kê dân số, y theo lệnh của Chúa Hằng Hữu đã cậy Môi-se truyền dạy.
46 Alle that weren noumbrid of Leuytis, and whiche Moyses and Aaron and the princes of Israel maden to be noumbrid, bi the kynredis and housis of her fadris,
Hết thảy những người Lê-vi mà Môi-se, A-rôn, và các trưởng tộc Ít-ra-ên kiểm kê, tùy theo họ hàng và gia tộc của họ,
47 fro thretti yeer and aboue `til to `the fiftithe yeer, and entriden to the seruyce of the tabernacle, and to bere chargis,
từ ba mươi đến năm mươi tuổi, tức là mọi người đến phục vụ và khuân vác đồ trong Đền Tạm,
48 weren togidere eiyte thousynde fyue hundrid and foure scoor.

49 By the `word of the Lord Moises noumbride hem, ech man bi his office and hise chargis, as the Lord comaundide to hym.
Người ta kiểm kê người Lê-vi theo lệnh Chúa Hằng Hữu đã cậy Môi-se truyền dạy, cắt phần cho mỗi người việc mình phải làm, và vật chi mình phải khiêng đi; người ta kiểm kê dân số theo lời Chúa Hằng Hữu đã phán dạy Môi-se vậy.
