Numbers 35
1 And the Lord spak these thingis to Moises, in the feeldi places of Moab, aboue Jordan,
Reče Jahve Mojsiju na Moapskim poljanama kod Jordana, nasuprot Jerihonu:
2 ayens Jericho, Comaunde thou to the sones of Israel, that thei yyue to dekenes of her possessiouns,
“Naredi Izraelcima da ustupe levitima od baštine koju posjeduju gradove gdje će stanovati i pašnjake oko gradova. To dajte levitima.
3 citees to dwelle, and the suburbabis of tho bi cumpas, that thei dwelle in `the citees, and the suburbabis be to beestis, and `werk beestis;
Neka gradovi budu njima za stanovanje, a okolni pašnjaci neka budu za njihova goveda, njihovo blago i sve njihove životinje.
4 whiche suburbabis schulen be strecchid forth fro the wallis of citees with outforth `bi cumpas, in the space of a thousynde paacis;
Pašnjaci uz gradove koje ustupite levitima neka zahvate od gradskih zidina van do tisuću lakata naokolo.
5 ayens the eest schulen be two thousynde cubitis, and ayens the south in lijk manere schulen be two thousynde cubitis, and at the see that biholdith to the west schal be the same mesure, and the north coost schal be endid bi euene terme. And the citees schulen be in the myddis, and the suburbabis with outforth.
Izmjerite od grada van dvije tisuće lakata s istočne strane, dvije tisuće lakata s južne strane, dvije tisuće lakata sa zapadne strane i sa sjeverne strane dvije tisuće lakata, tako da grad bude u sredini. To neka im budu gradski pašnjaci.
6 Forsothe of tho citees whiche ye schulen yyue to dekenes, sixe schulen be departid in to helpis of fugityues, `ether of fleynge men, that he that schedde blood, fle to tho; and outakun these sixe, ye schulen yyue to dekenes othere two and fourti citees,
Od gradova koje budete dali levitima šest će ih biti gradovi-utočišta, koje ćete ustupiti da ubojica može tamo pobjeći. Ovima dodajte još četrdeset i dva grada.
7 that is, togidere eiyte and fourti, with her surburbabis.
Tako će svih gradova koje ustupite levitima biti četrdeset i osam gradova s njihovim pašnjacima.
8 And tho citees that schulen be youun of the possessiouns of sones of Israel, schulen be takun awey, mo fro hem that han more, and fewere `schulen be takun awey fro hem that han lesse, alle bi hem silf schulen yyue bi the mesure of her eritage, citees to dekenes.
A gradove koje budete izdvajali od vlasništva Izraelaca, od onih koji ih imaju mnogo uzmite više, a manje od onih koji imaju malo. Neka svatko ustupi gradove levitima prema omjeru baštine koju bude primio.”
9 The Lord seide to Moises,
Nadalje reče Jahve Mojsiju:
10 Spek thou to the sones of Israel, and thou schalt seie to hem, Whanne ye han passid Jordan, in the lond of Canaan,
“Govori Izraelcima i reci im: 'Kad prijeđete preko Jordana u zemlju kanaansku,
11 deme ye whiche citees owen to be in to the helpis of fugityues, whiche not wilfuli han sched blood.
označite sebi gradove koji će vam služiti kao gradovi-utočišta, kamo može pobjeći ubojica koji nehotice koga ubije.
12 In whiche whanne the fleere hath fled, the kynesman of hym that is slayn, schal not mow sle hym, til he stonde in the siyt of the multitude, and the cause of hym be demed.
Ti gradovi neka vam budu utočište od osvetnika, tako da ubojica ne moradne poginuti dok ne stane na sud pred zajednicu.
13 Forsothe of tho citees that ben departid to the helpis of fugityues,
Od gradova koje ustupite bit će vam šest gradova za utočište.
14 thre schulen be ouer Jordan, and thre in the lond of Canaan;
Dodijelite tri grada s onu stranu Jordana, a tri grada u zemlji kanaanskoj. Neka to budu gradovi-utočišta.
15 as wel to the sones of Israel as to comelyngis and pilgryms; that he fle to tho citees, that schedde blood not wilfuli.
Tih šest gradova neka budu za utočište kako Izraelcima tako i strancu i došljaku koji među njima borave, kamo može pobjeći tko god ubije koga nehotice.
16 If ony man smytith a man with yrun, and he that is smytun is deed, `the smyter schal be gilti of mansleyng, and he schal die.
Ali ako tko udari koga gvozdenim predmetom te ga usmrti, to je onda ubojica. Ubojica mora glavom platiti.
17 If he castith a stoon, and a man is deed bi the strook, he schal be punyschid in lijk maner.
Udari li ga iz ruke kamenom od kojega čovjek može poginuti i zbilja pogine, to je opet ubojica. Ubojica mora glavom platiti.
18 If a man smytun with a staf dieth, he schal be vengid bi `the blood of the smytere.
Ili ako ga udari iz ruke kakvim drvenim predmetom od kojega može umrijeti i zbilja umre, i to je ubojica. Ubojica mora glavom platiti.
19 The niy kynesman of hym that is slayn schal sle the mansleere; anoon as he takith hym, `that is, the manquellere, he schal sle hym.
Krvni osvetnik mora sam ubojicu usmrtiti. Kad ga sretne, neka ga ubije.
20 If bi haterede a man hurtlith, `ethir schoufith, `a man, ethir castith ony thing in to hym bi aspiyngis,
Nadalje, ako tko koga gurne iz mržnje ili na nj nešto baci namjerno te ga usmrti,
21 ether whanne he was enemy, smoot with hond, and he is deed, the smytere schal be gilti of mansleyng. The kynesman `of him that is slayn, anoon as he findith him, `that is, the sleere, schal sle hym.
ili ga udari rukom iz zlobe te udareni umre, napadač mora zaglaviti - on je ubojica. Krvni osvetnik neka ubojicu ubije čim ga sretne.
22 That if bi sudeyn caas, and without hatrede and enemytees,
No gurne li ga slučajno, ne iz neprijateljstva, ili nešto na nj baci, ali ne iz zasjede,
23 he doith ony thing of these;
ili iz nepažnje na njega obori kakav kamen od kojega čovjek može poginuti te ga usmrti, a nije mu bio neprijatelj niti mu je zlo želio -
24 and this is preued in heryng `of the puple, and the questioun of blood is discussid bitwixe the smytere and the kynesman,
tada neka zajednica prosudi između ubojice i krvnog osvetnika prema ovim pravilima:
25 the innocent schal be delyuered fro the hond of the vengere, and bi sentence of iugis he schal be led ayen in to the citee, to which he fledde, and he schal dwelle there, til the grete preest die, which is anoyntid with oile.
Zajednica mora izbaviti ubojicu iz ruku krvnog osvetnika; onda neka ga zajednica vrati u grad-utočište kamo je pobjegao; tu neka on ostane do smrti velikoga svećenika koji je bio pomazan svetim uljem.
26 If the sleere is foundun with out the coostis `of the citees that ben asigned to exilid men,
Ali ako ubojica ikad izađe izvan granice utočišta kamo je pobjegao,
27 and is slayn of him that is vengere, he that sleeth him, `that is, the exilid man, schal be with out gilt;
pa na nj nabasa krvni osvetnik izvan granica njegova grada-utočišta te krvni osvetnik ubije ubojicu, to mu se ne računa u krvoproliće,
28 for the exilid man ouyte sitte in the citee `til to the `deth of the bischop; forsothe aftir that thilke bischop is deed, the mansleere schal turne ayen in to his lond.
jer ubojica mora ostati u gradu-utočištu do smrti velikoga svećenika. A poslije smrti velikoga svećenika može se vratiti na svoj posjed.
29 These schulen be euerlastynge and lawful thingis in alle youre dwellyngis.
Neka vam takvi budu sudbeni postupci od naraštaja do naraštaja svuda gdje budete boravili.
30 A mansleere schal be punyschid vndur witnessis; no man schal `be dampned at the witnessyng of o man.
Za svako ubojstvo čovjeka kazna smrti nad ubojicom može se izvršiti na dokaz svjedoka. Nitko se ne može smrću kazniti na dokaz samo jednog svjedoka.
31 Ye schulen not take prijs of him which is gilti of blood, anoon and he schal die.
Ne smijete primati otkupnine za život ubojice koji je zaslužio smrt: on mora umrijeti.
32 Men exilid, and fugityues, schulen not mow turne ayen in ony maner in to her citees, bifore the deeth of the bischop, lest ye defoulen the lond of youre abitacioun,
Niti smijete primati otkupnine od bilo koga koji, pošto je pobjegao u svoj grad-utočište, hoće da se vrati i da živi na svome tlu prije smrti velikoga svećenika.
33 which is defoulid bi the blood of innocent men; and it may not be clensid in other maner, no but bi the blood of hym, that schedde the blood of anothir man.
Nemojte oskvrnjivati zemlje u kojoj živite. A krvoprolićem zemlja se oskvrnjuje. Za zemlju na kojoj je krv prolivena pomirenje se ne može pribaviti, osim krvlju onoga koji ju je prolio.
34 And so youre possessioun schal be clensid, for Y schal dwelle with you; for Y am the Lord, that dwelle among the sones of Israel.
Ne smije se obeščašćivati zemlja u kojoj živite i usred koje ja boravim, jer ja, Jahve, prebivam među sinovima Izraelovim.'”
