Numbers 34
1 And the Lord spak to Moises,
Yahweh parla à Moïse, en disant:
2 and seide, Comaunde thou to the sones of Israel, and thou schalt seie to hem, Whanne ye han entrid in to the lond of Canaan, and it bifelde in to possessioun `to you bi lot, it schal be endid bi these endis.
« Commande aux enfants d’Israël et dis-leur: Quand vous serez entrés dans le pays de Chanaan, voici le pays qui vous tombera en partage: le pays de Chanaan, selon ses limites, savoir:
3 The south part schal bigynne at the wildirnesse of Syn, which is bisidis Edom, and it schal haue termes ayens the eest,
Le côté du midi sera pour vous le désert de Sin, jusqu’à Edom, et votre frontière méridionale partira de l’extrémité méridionale de la mer Salée, vers l’orient,
4 the saltiste see, whiche termes schulen cumpasse the south coost bi the `stiynge of Scorpioun, `that is, of an hil clepid Scorpioun, so that tho passe in to Senna, and come to the south, `til to Cades Barne; fro whennus the coostis schulen go out to the town, Abdar bi name, and schulen strecche forth `til to Asemona;
et votre frontière inclinera au sud par la montée d’Akrabbim, passera par Sin, et arrivera jusqu’au midi de Cadès-Barné; elle continuera par Hatsar-Adar et passera vers Asemon;
5 and the terme schal go bi cumpas fro Assemona `til to the stronde of Egipt, and it schal be endid bi the brynke of the grete see.
et depuis Asemon, la frontière arrivera jusqu’au Torrent d’Égypte, pour arriver à la mer.
6 Forsothe the west coost schal bigynne at the greet see, and schal be closid bi that ende.
Quant à la frontière occidentale, vous aurez pour frontière la grande mer: ce sera votre limite à l’occident.
7 Sotheli at the north coost, the termes schulen bigynne at the greet see, and schulen come `til to the hiyeste hil,
Voici quelle sera votre frontière septentrionale: à partir de la grande mer, vous la tracerez pour vous par le mont Hor;
8 fro which tho schulen come in to Emath, `til to the termes of Sedada;
depuis le mont Hor, vous la tracerez jusqu’à l’entrée de Hamath, et la frontière arrivera à Sedada;
9 and the coostis schulen go `til to Ephrona, and the town of Enan. These schulen be the termes in the north part.
et la frontière continuera par Zéphron, pour arriver à Hatsar-Enan: ce sera votre limite au septentrion.
10 Fro thennus thei schulen mete coostis ayens the eest coost, fro the town Henan `til to Sephama;
Vous tracerez votre frontière orientale de Hatsar-Enan à Sépham;
11 and fro Sephama termes schulen go doun in to Reblatha, ayens the welle `of Daphnyn; fro thennus tho schulen come ayens the eest to the se of Cenereth;
et la frontière descendra de Sépham vers Rébla, à l’est d’Aïn; et la frontière descendra et s’étendra le long des collines qui flanquent la mer de Cénéreth à l’orient,
12 and tho schulen strecche forth `til to Jordan, and at the laste tho schulen be closid with the salteste see. Ye schulen haue this lond bi hise coostis `in cumpas.
et la frontière descendra le long du Jourdain, pour arriver à la mer Salée. Tel sera votre pays selon les frontières tout autour. »
13 And Moises comaundide to the sones of Israel, and seide, This schal be the lond which ye schulen welde bi lot, and which the Lord comaundide to be youun to nyne lynagis and to the half lynage;
Moïse donna cet ordre aux enfants d’Israël, en disant: « C’est là le pays que vous partagerez par le sort, et que Yahweh a ordonné de donner aux neuf tribus et à la demi-tribu.
14 for the lynage of the sones of Ruben, bi her meynees, and the lynage of the sones of Gad, bi kynrede and noumbre, and half the lynage of Manasses,
Car la tribu des fils de Ruben, selon leurs maisons patriarcales, et la tribu des fils de Gad, selon leurs maisons patriarcales, ont reçu leur héritage; la demi-tribu de Manassé a reçu son héritage.
15 that is, twey lynagis and an half, han take her part ouer Jordan, ayens Jerico, at the eest coost.
Les deux tribus et la demi-tribu ont pris leur héritage au delà du Jourdain, vis-à-vis de Jéricho, du côté de l’orient, vers le levant. »
16 And the Lord seide to Moises,
Yahweh parla à Moïse, en disant:
17 These ben the `names of men that schulen departe the lond to you, Eleazar, preest, and Josue, the sone of Nun, and of each lynage, o prynce;
« Voici les noms des hommes qui partageront le pays entre vous: Eléazar, le prêtre, et Josué, fils de Nun.
18 of whiche these ben the names, of the lynage of Juda,
Vous prendrez encore un prince de chaque tribu pour vous partager le pays.
19 Caleph, the sone of Jephone;
Voici les noms de ces hommes: Pour la tribu de Juda, Caleb, fils de Jéphoné;
20 of the lynage of Symeon, Samuhel, the sone of Amyud;
pour la tribu des fils de Siméon, Samuel, fils d’Ammiud;
21 of the lynage of Beniamyn, Heliad, sone of Casselon;
pour la tribu de Benjamin, Elidad, fils de Chaselon;
22 of the lynage of the sones of Dan, Bochi, sone of Jogli; of the sones of Joseph,
pour la tribu des fils de Dan, le prince Bocci, fils de Jogli;
23 of the lynage of Manasses, Hamyel, sone of Ephoth;
pour les fils de Joseph: pour la tribu des fils de Manassé, le prince Hanniel, fils d’Ephod;
24 of the lynage of Effraym, Camuhel, sone of Septhan;
et pour la tribu des fils d’Ephraïm, le prince Camuel, fils de Sephtan;
25 of the lynage of Zabulon, Elisaphan, sone of Pharnat;
pour la tribu des fils de Zabulon, le prince Elisaphan, fils de Pharnach;
26 of the lynage of Isacar, duyk Phaltiel, the sone of Ozan; of the lynage of Azer,
pour la tribu des fils d’Issachar, le prince Phaltiel, fils d’Ozan;
27 Abyud, the sone of Salomy;
pour la tribu des fils d’Aser, le prince Ahiud, fils de Salomi;
28 of the lynage of Neptalym, Fedahel, the sone of Amyud.
pour la tribu des fils de Nephthali, le prince Phedaël, fils d’Ammiud. » —
29 These men it ben, to whiche the Lord comaundide, that thei schulden departe to the sones of Israel the lond of Chanaan.
Tels sont ceux à qui Yahweh ordonna de partager le pays de Chanaan entre les enfants d’Israël.
