Numbers 30
1 And he spak to the princes of the lynagis of the sones of Israel, This is the word, which the Lord comaundide,
Moisés dijo a los jefes de las tribus de Israel: “Esto es lo que nos ordena el Señor:
2 If ony of men makith a vowe to the Lord, ethir byndith hym silf bi an ooth, he schal not make voide his word, but he schal fille al thing which he bihiyte.
Si un hombre hace una promesa solemne al Señor, o promete hacer algo jurando, no debe romper su promesa. Debe hacer todo lo que dijo que haría.
3 If a womman which is in the hows of hir fadir, and is yit in the age of a damysel, `that is, not yit weddid, avowith ony thing, ethir byndith hir silf bi an ooth,
“Si una mujer joven que aún vive en la casa de su padre hace una promesa solemne al Señor o se compromete a hacer algo mediante un juramento
4 if the fadir knowith the avow, which sche bihiyte, and the ooth bi which sche boond hir soule, and he is stille, sche schal be gilti of the ooth, that is, boundun bi the ooth; what euer thing sche bihiyte and swoor, sche schall fille in werk.
y su padre se entera de su promesa o juramento pero no le dice nada, todas las promesas o juramentos que ha hecho se mantendrán.
5 Forsothe if the fadir ayenseide anoon as he herde, bothe the vowis and `oothis of hir schulen be voide, and sche schal not be holdun boundun to the biheeste, for the fadir ayenseide.
Pero si su padre las rechaza tan pronto como se entere, entonces ninguna de sus promesas o juramentos serán válidos. El Señor la liberará de cumplirlas porque su padre las ha desautorizado.
6 If sche hath an hosebonde, and avowith ony thing, and a word goynge out of hir mouth onys byndith hir soule with an ooth,
“Si una mujer se casa después de haber hecho una promesa solemne o un juramento sin pensarlo
7 in what dai the hosebonde herith, and ayenseith not, sche schal be gilti `of avow; sche schal yelde, what euer thing sche bihiyte.
y su marido se entera de ello pero no le dice nada inmediatamente, todas las promesas o juramentos que haya hecho se mantendrán.
8 But if the hosebonde herith, and anoon ayenseith, and makith void alle hir biheestis, and wordis bi whiche sche boond hir soule, the Lord schal be merciful to hir.
Pero si su marido las rechaza cuando se entera de ello, entonces ninguna de sus promesas o juramentos permanecen válidos y el Señor la liberará de cumplirlos.
9 A widewe, and a womman forsakun of hir hosebonde, schulen yelde, what euer thing thei avowen.
“Toda promesa solemne hecha por una viuda o una mujer divorciada debe cumplirse.
10 Whanne a wijf in `the hous of hir hosebonde byndith hir silf bi a vow and an ooth,
“Si una mujer que vive con su marido hace una promesa solemne al Señor o se compromete a hacer algo mediante un juramento,
11 if the hosebonde herith, and is stille and ayenseith not the biheest, sche schal yelde, what euer thing sche bihiyte.
y su marido se entera de su promesa o juramento pero no le dice nada y no lo desautoriza, entonces ninguna de sus promesas o juramentos permanecen válidos.
12 Sotheli if the hosebonde ayenseide anoon, sche schal not be holdun gilti of biheest, for the hosebonde ayenseide, and the Lord schal be merciful to hir.
Pero si su marido las rechaza tan pronto como se entera de ello, entonces ninguna de sus promesas o juramentos siguen siendo válidos. El Señor la liberará de mantenerlas porque su marido las ha rechazado.
13 If sche avowith, and byndith hir silf bi an ooth, that sche turmente hir soule bi fastyng, ethir bi abstynence of othere thingis, it schal be in the doom of the hosebonde, that sche do, ether do not.
“Su marido también puede confirmar o rechazar cualquier promesa o juramento solemne que la mujer haga para negarse a sí misma.
14 That if the hosebonde herith, and is stille, and delaieth the sentence in the tother dai, sche schal yelde what euer thing sche avowide and bihiyte, for he was stille, anoon as he herde.
Pero si su marido no le dice nunca una palabra al respecto, se supone que ha confirmado todas las promesas y juramentos solemnes que ella ha hecho.
15 Forsothe if the hosebonde ayenseide aftir that he wiste, he schal bere his wickidnesse.
Sin embargo, si él las rechaza algún tiempo después de enterarse de ellas, entonces él tendrá la responsabilidad de que ella las rompa”.
16 These ben the lawis, which the Lord ordeynede to Moyses bitwixe the hosebonde and the wijf, bitwixe the fadir and the douytir, which is yit in the age of a damysel, `that is, not yit maried, `ether which dwellith in `the hows of the fadir.
Estos son los preceptos que el Señor dio a Moisés sobre la relación entre un hombre y su esposa, y entre un padre y una hija que es joven y todavía vive en casa.
