3 and Israel made sacrifice to Belphegor. And the Lord was wrooth,

9 and foure and twenti thousand of men weren slayn.
Sila ki te mouri yo akoz gwo epidemi an se te venn-kat-mil.
10 And the Lord seide to Moises,

“Phinées, fis a Éléazar, fis a Aaron, prèt la, te fè detounen kòlè Mwen vè fis Israël yo, akoz li te jalou avèk jalouzi pa Mwen an pami yo; epi konsa, Mwen pa t detwi fis Israël yo nan jalouzi pa Mwen an.
12 Therfor speke thou to hym, Lo! Y yyue to hym the pees of my couenaunt,
“Pou sa pale: ‘Gade byen, Mwen bay li akò lapè Mwen.
13 and it schal be an euerlastynge couenaunt of preesthod, as wel to hym silf as to his seed; for he louyde feruentli for his God, and he clenside the greet trespas of the sones of Israel.
Li va pou li avèk desandan apre li yo, yon akò pozisyon prèt pou tout tan, akoz ke li te jalou pou Bondye li a, e li te fè ekspiyasyon pou fis Israël yo.’”
14 Forsothe the name of the man of Israel, that was slayn with the womman of Madian, was Zambri, the sone of Salu, duyk of the kynrede and lynage of Symeon.

16 And the Lord spak to Moises and seide,
