Numbers 22
1 And thei yeden forth, and settiden tentis in the feeldi places of Moab, where Jerico is set ouer Jordan.
Одатле се подигоше синови Израиљеви, и стадоше у логор у пољу моавском с оне стране Јордана према Јерихону.
2 Forsothe Balach, the sone of Sephor, siy alle thingis whiche Israel hadde do to Ammorrei,
И виде Валак, син Сефоров све што учини Израиљ Амореју.
3 and that men of Moab `hadden dred Israel, and miyten not bere the assailing of him.
И уплаши се Моав од народа веома; јер га беше много, и притужи Моаву од синова Израиљевих.
4 And he seide to the grettere men in birthe of Madian, So this puple schal do a wei alle men that dwellen in oure coostis, as an oxe is wont to do awei an eerbe `til to the rootis. Forsothe he, `that is, Balaac, was kyng in that tyme in Moab.
Па рече Моав старешинама мадијанским: Сада ће ова множина појести све што је око нас као во траву у пољу. А Валак, син Сефоров беше у оно време цар моавски.
5 Therfor he sente messangeris to Balaam, the sone of Beor, a fals diuynour, that dwellide on the flood of the lond of the sones of Amon, that thei schulden clepe hym, and schulden seie, Lo! a puple yede out of Egipt, `which puple hilide the face of erthe, and sittith ayens me.
И посла посланике к Валаму, сину Веоровом у Фатуру, која је на реци у земљи народа његовог, говорећи: Ево народ изиђе из Мисира, ево прекрилио је земљу, и стоји према мени.
6 Therfor come thou, and curse this puple, which is strongere than Y, if in ony maner Y may smyte and dryue hym out of my lond; for Y knowe, that he is blissid whom thou blissist, and he is cursid whom thou hast cursid.
Него ходи, прокуни ми овај народ, јер је јачи од мене, е да бих му одолео и побио га или истерао из земље ове; јер знам, кога благословиш биће благословен, а кога прокунеш биће проклет.
7 The eldere men of Moab and the grettere men in birthe of Madian yeden forth, hauynge in hondis the prijs of fals dyuynyng; and whanne thei hadden come to Balaam, and hadden teld to hym alle the wordis of Balaach, he answeride,
И отидоше старешине моавске и старешине мадијанске носећи дарове за врачање; и дођоше к Валаму, и казаше му речи Валакове.
8 Dwelle ye here to nyyt, and Y schal answere what euer thing the Lord schal seie to me. Sotheli while thei dwelliden at Balaam, God cam, and seide to hym,
А он им рече: Останите овде ову ноћ, и одговорићу вам како ми Господ каже. И осташе кнезови моавски код Валама.
9 What wolen these men at thee `to hem silf?
А Бог дође к Валаму и рече му: Какви су то људи код тебе?
10 Balaam answeride, Balaach, the sone of Sephor, kyng of Moabitis, sente to me, and seide, Lo!
И рече Валам Богу: Валак син Сефоров, цар моавски, посла их к мени говорећи:
11 a puple which is gon out of Egipt hilide the face of erthe; come thou, and curse hem, if in ony maner Y may fiyte, and dryue hym awey.
Ево народ изиђе из Мисира и прекрили земљу; него ходи, прокуни ми га, е да бих га надбио и отерао га.
12 And God seide to Balaam, Nyle thou go with hem, nether curse thou the puple, for it is blessid.
А Бог рече Валаму: Не иди с њима, нити куни тај народ, јер је благословен.
13 Which Balaam roos eerli, and seide to the princes, Go ye in to youre lond, for God forbeed me to come with you.
И ујутру уставши Валам рече кнезовима Валаковим; вратите се у своју земљу јер ми не да Бог да идем с вама.
14 The princes turneden ayen, and seiden to Balaach, Balaam nolde come with vs.
И уставши кнезови моавски дођоше к Валаку, и рекоше: Не хте Валам поћи с нама.
15 Eft Balaach sente many mo and noblere men, than he hadde sent bifore;
Тада опет посла Валак више кнезова и веће од првих.
16 whiche seiden, whanne thei hadden come to Balaam, Balaach, the sone of Sephor, seith thus, Tarye thou not to come to me, redi to onoure thee;
И они дошавши к Валаму рекоше му: Овако вели Валак, син Сефоров: Немој се затезати, молим те, него дођи к мени.
17 and what euer thing thou wolt, Y schal yyue to thee; come thou, and curse this puple.
Јер ћу те добро даривати, и шта ми год кажеш чинићу; зато дођи, молим те, прокуни ми овај народ.
18 Balaam answeride, Thouy Balaach schal yyue to me his howsful of siluer and of gold, Y schal not mowe chaunge the word of my God, that Y speke ethir more ethir lesse.
А Валам одговори и рече слугама Валаковим: Да ми да Валак кућу своју пуну сребра и злата, не бих могао преступити речи Господа Бога свог да учиним шта мало или велико.
19 Y biseche, that ye dwelle here also in this nyyt, that Y may wite what the Lord schal answere eft to me.
Али опет останите овде и ви ову ноћ да видим шта ће ми сада казати Господ.
20 Therfor the Lord cam to Balaam in the nyyt, and seide to hym, If these men comen to clepe thee, rise thou, and go with hem, so oneli that thou do that that Y schal comaunde to thee.
И дође Бог ноћу к Валаму и рече му: Кад су дошли ти људи да те зову, устани, иди с њима, али шта ти кажем оно да чиниш.
21 Balaam roos eerli, and whanne his femal asse was sadelid, he yede forth with hem.
А ујутру уставши Валам осамари магарицу своју, и пође с кнезовима моавским.
22 And God was wrooth. And the `aungel of the Lord stood in the weie ayens Balam, that sat on the femal asse, and hadde twei children with hym.
Али се разгневи Бог што он пође; и стаде анђео Господњи на пут да му не да; а он сеђаше на магарици својој и имаше са собом два момка своја.
23 The femal asse siy the aungel stondynge in the weie, with swerd drawun, and `turnede a wei hir silf fro the weie, and yede bi the feeld. And whanne Balaam beet hir, and wolde lede ayen to the path,
А кад магарица виде анђела Господњег где стоји на путу с голим мачем у руци, сврну магарица с пута и пође преко поља. А Валам је стаде бити да је врати на пут.
24 the aungel stood in the streitnessis of twei wallis, with whiche the vyneris weren cumpassid.
А анђео Господњи стаде на стазу међу виноградима, а беше зид и одовуд и одонуд.
25 And the femal asse siy the aungel, and ioynede hir silf to the wal, and hurtlide the foot of the sittere; and he beet eft `the asse.
И магарица видећи анђела Господњег приби се уз други зид, и притиште ногу Валамову о зид; а он је стаде опет бити.
26 And neuer the lesse the aungel yede to the streit place, where me `myyte not go out of the weie, nether to the riyt side nether to the left side, and stood ayens hym.
Потом анђео Господњи отиде даље, и стаде у теснацу, где не беше места да се сврне ни надесно ни налево.
27 And whanne the femal asse siy the aungel stondynge, sche felde doun vndir the feet of the sittere, which was wrooth ful greetli, and beet hir sidis with a staaf.
И магарица видећи анђела Господњег паде под Валамом, а Валам се врло разљути, и стаде бити магарицу својим штапом.
28 And the Lord openyde the `mouth of the femal asse, and sche spak, What have Y doon to thee? whi smytist thou me, lo! now the thridde tyme?
Тада Господ отвори уста магарици, те она рече Валаму: Шта сам ти учинила, те ме бијеш већ трећи пут?
29 Balaam answeride, For thou hast disserued, and hast scornyd me; Y wolde that Y hadde a swerd to sle thee.
А Валам рече магарици: Што ми пркосиш? Да имам мач у руци, сад бих те убио.
30 And the femal asse seide, Whether Y am not thi beeste on which thou were wont to sitte euere til in to this present dai? seie thou, what lijk thing Y dide euere to thee? And he seide, Neuere.
А магарица рече Валаму: Нисам ли твоја магарица? Јашеш ме од како сам постала твоја до данас; јесам ли ти кад тако учинила? А он рече: Ниси.
31 Anoon the Lord openyde `the iyen of Balaam, and he siy the aungel stondynge in the weie, holdynge a drawun swerd in the hoond; and Balaam worschipide hym lowli in to erthe.
Тада Господ отвори очи Валаму, који угледа анђела Господњег где стоји на путу с голим мачем у руци. И он сави главу и поклони се лицем својим.
32 To whom the aungel seide, Whi `betist thou thi femal asse `the thridde tyme? Y cam to be aduersarie to thee, for thi weie is weiward, and contrarye to me;
И рече му анђео Господњи: Зашто си био магарицу своју већ три пута? Ево ја изиђох да ти не дам, јер твој пут није мени по вољи.
33 and if the femal asse hadde not bowid a wey fro the weie, and youe place to ayenstondere, Y hadde slayn thee, and sche schulde lyue.
Кад ме угледа магарица, она се уклони испред мене већ три пута; а да се није уклонила испред мене, тебе бих већ убио, а њу бих оставио у животу.
34 Balaam seide, Y synnede, not witynge that thou stodist ayens me; and now, if it displesith thee that Y go, Y schal turne ayen.
А Валам рече анђелу Господњем: Згрешио сам, јер нисам знао да ти стојиш преда мном на путу; ако теби није по вољи, ја ћу се вратити.
35 The aungel seide, Go thou with these men, but be war that thou speke not other thing than Y schal comaunde to thee. Therfor Balaam yede with the princes.
А анђео Господњи рече Валаму: Иди с тим људима, али само оно говори што ти ја кажем. Тада Валам отиде с кнезовима Валаковим.
36 And whanne Balaach hadde herde this, he yede out in to the comyng of hym, in the citee of Moabitis, whiche is set in the laste coostis of Arnon.
А кад чу Валак да иде Валам, изиђе му на сусрет у град моавски на међи арнонској накрај међе.
37 And he seide to Balaam, Y sente messangeris to clepe thee; whi camest thou not anoon to me? whethir for Y may not yelde meede to thi comyng?
И рече Валак Валаму: Нисам ли слао к теби и звао те? Зашто ми не дође? Еда ли те не могу даривати?
38 To whom Balaam answeride, Lo! Y am present, whethir Y schal mow speke other thing than that, that God schal putte in my mouth?
А Валам рече Валаку: Ево сам дошао к теби; али хоћу ли моћи шта говорити? Шта ми Бог метне у уста, оно ћу говорити.
39 Therfor thei yeden forth to gidere, and camen in to a citee, which was in the laste coost of `his rewme.
И отиде Валам с Валаком, и дођоше у град Узот.
40 And whanne Balaach hadde slayn scheep and oxun, he sente yiftis to Balaam and the princes that weren with hym.
И накла Валак волова и оваца, и посла Валаму и кнезовима, који беху с њим.
41 Forsothe whanne the morewtid was maad, Balaach ledde Balaam to the hiye placis of Baal, and he bihelde the laste part of the puple, `that is, al the oost til to the laste part.
А ујутру узе Валак Валама и одведе га на висину Валову, и оданде му показа један крај народа.
