Numbers 22
1 And thei yeden forth, and settiden tentis in the feeldi places of Moab, where Jerico is set ouer Jordan.
És tovább menének Izráel fiai, és tábort ütének Moáb mezőségen a Jordánon túl, Jérikhó ellenében.
2 Forsothe Balach, the sone of Sephor, siy alle thingis whiche Israel hadde do to Ammorrei,
És mikor látta Bálák, a Czippór fia mind azokat, a melyeket cselekedett vala Izráel az Emoreussal:
3 and that men of Moab `hadden dred Israel, and miyten not bere the assailing of him.
Igen megrémüle Moáb a néptől, mivelhogy sok vala az, és búsula Moáb Izráel fiai miatt.
4 And he seide to the grettere men in birthe of Madian, So this puple schal do a wei alle men that dwellen in oure coostis, as an oxe is wont to do awei an eerbe `til to the rootis. Forsothe he, `that is, Balaac, was kyng in that tyme in Moab.
Monda azért Moáb Midián véneinek: Most elnyalja e sokaság minden mi környékünket, a miképen elnyalja az ökör a mezőnek pázsitját. (Bálák pedig, Czippórnak fia Moáb királya vala abban az időben.)
5 Therfor he sente messangeris to Balaam, the sone of Beor, a fals diuynour, that dwellide on the flood of the lond of the sones of Amon, that thei schulden clepe hym, and schulden seie, Lo! a puple yede out of Egipt, `which puple hilide the face of erthe, and sittith ayens me.
Külde azért követeket Bálámhoz, a Beór fiához Péthorba, a mely vala a folyóvíz mellett, az ő népe fiainak földére, hogy hívják őt, mondván: Ímé nép jött ki Égyiptomból, és ímé ellepte e földnek színét, és megtelepszik én ellenemben.
6 Therfor come thou, and curse this puple, which is strongere than Y, if in ony maner Y may smyte and dryue hym out of my lond; for Y knowe, that he is blissid whom thou blissist, and he is cursid whom thou hast cursid.
Most azért kérlek jöjj el, átkozd meg érettem e népet, mert erősebb nálamnál; talán erőt vehetek rajta, megverjük őt, és kiűzhetem őt e földből; mert jól tudom, hogy a kit megáldasz, meg lesz áldva, és a kit megátkozol, átkozott lesz.
7 The eldere men of Moab and the grettere men in birthe of Madian yeden forth, hauynge in hondis the prijs of fals dyuynyng; and whanne thei hadden come to Balaam, and hadden teld to hym alle the wordis of Balaach, he answeride,
Elmenének azért Moábnak vénei és Midiánnak vénei, és a jövendőmondásnak jutalma kezeikben vala, és jutának Bálámhoz, és megmondák néki Bálák izenetét.
8 Dwelle ye here to nyyt, and Y schal answere what euer thing the Lord schal seie to me. Sotheli while thei dwelliden at Balaam, God cam, and seide to hym,
Ő pedig monda nékik: Háljatok itt ez éjjel, és feleletet adok néktek, a miképen szól nékem az Úr. És Moábnak fejedelmei ott maradának Bálámnál.
9 What wolen these men at thee `to hem silf?
Eljöve pedig az Isten Bálámhoz, és monda: Kicsodák ezek a férfiak te nálad?
10 Balaam answeride, Balaach, the sone of Sephor, kyng of Moabitis, sente to me, and seide, Lo!
És monda Bálám az Istennek: Bálák, Czippór fia, Moáb királya, küldött én hozzám, ezt mondván:
11 a puple which is gon out of Egipt hilide the face of erthe; come thou, and curse hem, if in ony maner Y may fiyte, and dryue hym awey.
Ímé e nép, a mely kijött Égyiptomból, ellepte a földnek színét; most azért jöjj el, átkozd meg azt érettem, talán megharczolhatok vele, és kiűzhetem őt.
12 And God seide to Balaam, Nyle thou go with hem, nether curse thou the puple, for it is blessid.
És monda Isten Bálámnak: Ne menj el ő velök, ne átkozd meg azt a népet, mert áldott az.
13 Which Balaam roos eerli, and seide to the princes, Go ye in to youre lond, for God forbeed me to come with you.
Felkele azért Bálám reggel, és monda a Bálák fejedelmeinek: Menjetek el a ti földetekre; mert nem akarja az Úr megengedni nékem, hogy elmenjek veletek.
14 The princes turneden ayen, and seiden to Balaach, Balaam nolde come with vs.
És felkelének Moáb fejedelmei, és jutának Bálákhoz, és mondának: Nem akart Bálám eljönni velünk.
15 Eft Balaach sente many mo and noblere men, than he hadde sent bifore;
Elkülde azért ismét Bálák több fejedelmet, amazoknál előkelőbbeket.
16 whiche seiden, whanne thei hadden come to Balaam, Balaach, the sone of Sephor, seith thus, Tarye thou not to come to me, redi to onoure thee;
És eljutának Bálámhoz, és mondának néki: Ezt mondja Bálák, Czippórnak fia: Kérlek, ne vonakodjál eljönni hozzám!
17 and what euer thing thou wolt, Y schal yyue to thee; come thou, and curse this puple.
Mert igen-igen megtisztellek téged, és akármit mondasz nékem, megcselekszem. Jöjj el azért kérlek, és átkozd meg értem e népet!
18 Balaam answeride, Thouy Balaach schal yyue to me his howsful of siluer and of gold, Y schal not mowe chaunge the word of my God, that Y speke ethir more ethir lesse.
Bálám pedig felele és monda a Bálák szolgáinak: Ha Bálák az ő házát aranynyal és ezüsttel tele adná is nékem, nem hághatom át az Úrnak, az én Istenemnek szavát, hogy valamit míveljek; kicsinyt vagy nagyot.
19 Y biseche, that ye dwelle here also in this nyyt, that Y may wite what the Lord schal answere eft to me.
Most mindazonáltal maradjatok itt kérlek ti is ez éjjel, hadd tudjam meg, mit szól ismét az Úr nékem?
20 Therfor the Lord cam to Balaam in the nyyt, and seide to hym, If these men comen to clepe thee, rise thou, and go with hem, so oneli that thou do that that Y schal comaunde to thee.
És eljöve Isten Bálámhoz éjjel, és monda néki: Ha azért jöttek e férfiak, hogy elhívjanak téged: kelj fel, menj el velök; de mindazáltal azt cselekedjed, a mit mondok majd néked.
21 Balaam roos eerli, and whanne his femal asse was sadelid, he yede forth with hem.
Felkele azért Bálám reggel, és megnyergelé az ő szamarát, és elméne a Moáb fejedelmeivel.
22 And God was wrooth. And the `aungel of the Lord stood in the weie ayens Balam, that sat on the femal asse, and hadde twei children with hym.
De megharaguvék Isten, hogy elmegy vala ő. És megálla az Úrnak angyala az útban, hogy ellenkezzék vele; ő pedig üget vala az ő szamarán, és két szolgája vala vele.
23 The femal asse siy the aungel stondynge in the weie, with swerd drawun, and `turnede a wei hir silf fro the weie, and yede bi the feeld. And whanne Balaam beet hir, and wolde lede ayen to the path,
És meglátá a szamár az Úrnak angyalát, a mint áll vala az úton, és mezítelen fegyvere a kezében; letére azért a szamár az útról, és méne a mezőre; Bálám pedig veré az ő szamarát, hogy visszatérítse azt az útra.
24 the aungel stood in the streitnessis of twei wallis, with whiche the vyneris weren cumpassid.
Azután megálla az Úrnak angyala a szőlők ösvényén, holott innen is garád, onnan is garád vala.
25 And the femal asse siy the aungel, and ioynede hir silf to the wal, and hurtlide the foot of the sittere; and he beet eft `the asse.
A mint meglátá a szamár az Úrnak angyalát, a falhoz szorula, és a Bálám lábát is oda szorítá a falhoz; ezért ismét megveré azt.
26 And neuer the lesse the aungel yede to the streit place, where me `myyte not go out of the weie, nether to the riyt side nether to the left side, and stood ayens hym.
Az Úr angyala pedig ismét tovább méne, és megálla szoros helyen, hol nem volt út a kitérésre, sem jobbra, sem balra.
27 And whanne the femal asse siy the aungel stondynge, sche felde doun vndir the feet of the sittere, which was wrooth ful greetli, and beet hir sidis with a staaf.
A mint meglátá a szamár az Úrnak angyalát, lefeküvék Bálám alatt, azért megharaguvék Bálám, és megveré a szamarat bottal.
28 And the Lord openyde the `mouth of the femal asse, and sche spak, What have Y doon to thee? whi smytist thou me, lo! now the thridde tyme?
És megnyitá az Úr a szamárnak száját, és monda a szamár Bálámnak: Mit vétettem néked, hogy immár háromszor vertél meg engem?
29 Balaam answeride, For thou hast disserued, and hast scornyd me; Y wolde that Y hadde a swerd to sle thee.
Bálám pedig monda a szamárnak: Mert megcsúfoltál engem! Vajha volna fegyver a kezemben, nyilván megölnélek most téged.
30 And the femal asse seide, Whether Y am not thi beeste on which thou were wont to sitte euere til in to this present dai? seie thou, what lijk thing Y dide euere to thee? And he seide, Neuere.
És monda a szamár Bálámnak: Avagy nem te szamarad vagyok-é, a melyen járni szoktál, a mióta megvagy, mind e napig? Avagy szoktam volt-é veled e képen cselekedni? Az pedig felele: Nem.
31 Anoon the Lord openyde `the iyen of Balaam, and he siy the aungel stondynge in the weie, holdynge a drawun swerd in the hoond; and Balaam worschipide hym lowli in to erthe.
És megnyitá az Úr a Bálám szemeit, és látá az Úr angyalát, a mint áll vala az útban, és mezítelen fegyverét az ő kezében; akkor meghajtá magát és arczra borula.
32 To whom the aungel seide, Whi `betist thou thi femal asse `the thridde tyme? Y cam to be aduersarie to thee, for thi weie is weiward, and contrarye to me;
Az Úrnak angyala pedig monda néki: Miért verted meg a te szamaradat immár három ízben? Ímé én jöttem ki, hogy ellenkezzem veled, mert veszedelmes ez az út én előttem.
33 and if the femal asse hadde not bowid a wey fro the weie, and youe place to ayenstondere, Y hadde slayn thee, and sche schulde lyue.
És meglátott engem a szamár, és kitért én előttem immár három ízben; ha ki nem tért volna előlem, most meg is öltelek volna téged, őt pedig életben hagytam volna.
34 Balaam seide, Y synnede, not witynge that thou stodist ayens me; and now, if it displesith thee that Y go, Y schal turne ayen.
Monda azért Bálám az Úr angyalának: Vétkeztem, mert nem tudtam, hogy te állasz előttem az útban. Most azért, ha nem tetszik ez néked, visszatérek.
35 The aungel seide, Go thou with these men, but be war that thou speke not other thing than Y schal comaunde to thee. Therfor Balaam yede with the princes.
Az Úrnak angyala pedig monda Bálámnak: Menj el e férfiakkal; mindazáltal a mit én mondok majd néked, azt mondjad. Elméne azért Bálám a Bálák fejedelmeivel.
36 And whanne Balaach hadde herde this, he yede out in to the comyng of hym, in the citee of Moabitis, whiche is set in the laste coostis of Arnon.
Mikor pedig meghallá Bálák, hogy jön Bálám, kiméne elébe Moábnak egyik városába, a mely az Arnon vidékén, a határ szélén vala.
37 And he seide to Balaam, Y sente messangeris to clepe thee; whi camest thou not anoon to me? whethir for Y may not yelde meede to thi comyng?
És monda Bálák Bálámnak: Avagy nem küldözgettem-é hozzád, hogy hívjanak téged? Miért nem jösz vala én hozzám? Avagy valóban nem tisztelhetnélek meg téged?
38 To whom Balaam answeride, Lo! Y am present, whethir Y schal mow speke other thing than that, that God schal putte in my mouth?
Bálám pedig monda Báláknak: Ímé eljöttem hozzád. Most pedig szólhatok-é magamtól valamit? A mi mondani valót Isten ád az én számba, azt mondom.
39 Therfor thei yeden forth to gidere, and camen in to a citee, which was in the laste coost of `his rewme.
És elméne Bálám Bálákkal, és eljutának Kirjat-Husótba.
40 And whanne Balaach hadde slayn scheep and oxun, he sente yiftis to Balaam and the princes that weren with hym.
És vágata Bálák ökröket és juhokat, és küldé Bálámnak és a fejedelmeknek, a kik vele valának.
41 Forsothe whanne the morewtid was maad, Balaach ledde Balaam to the hiye placis of Baal, and he bihelde the laste part of the puple, `that is, al the oost til to the laste part.
Reggel pedig magához vevé Bálák Bálámot és felvivé őt a Baál magas hegyére, hogy meglássa onnét a népnek valami részét.
